Wow, so nice to deal with a professional, courteous company. Everyone I dealt with from the first phone call was awesome. Their service exceeded our expectations. They left the area so clean you couldn’t even tell where the trees were! Thank you Tip Top!

Everyone we had contact with at Tip Top was very pleasant and professional. We had trees that had become larger than expected which needed trimming and one was beginning to lean toward a fence and needed complete removal. The work was scheduled and completed on the day promised. We couldn’t be more pleased with how well the job was done. We felt the price was reasonable and are looking forward to having them come back in the Spring to do some shaping of trees not trimmed this time. Years ago, I had used Tip Top and they had done an excellent job with my trees, but I thought at the time that they were a bit expensive. So, last October, based on reviews on Unilocal,I hired another service to trim my two very large ash trees. They were not the cheapest, but they assured me that they were the best. At the time, I thought they had done a decent job, and even gave them a favorable review on Unilocal (which I’ve since removed).
Recently, several arborists, including representatives from So Cal Edison, pointed out where and how this company essentially butchered at least one of the trees. So, I called Tip Top. Tom, their arborist, came out and explained in detail what had happened and how they could restore both trees. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional, as was every member of his team. They saved my trees. AND, they charged $ 400 less for three trees (I had them trim a Myrtle in the front) than the other jokers charged for the two. Yes, I’ve learned my lesson, and will only use Tip Top in the future.

Todd came out early in December 2014 to give us an estimate of work we wanted to do. He came out in the rain and was very professional as he walked around the property with my wife. Todd also gave us some hints about feeding and care of our other trees not just the ones we wanted work on. I called them last month and told them I was ready to have some of the estimated work done — they never attempted to convince me to do all the estimated work they just put me on their calendar. This morning Todd showed up with Noe and his crew to do the 4 removals we needed done. I asked Todd if it was an all day event and he told me Noe and the crew needed to be at another job in the afternoon. Wow, really? My wife sent me pictures of our new open area and the stack of firewood and said that they were long gone within 3 hours of starting the job. Amazing! Truly a professional organization, I will have them back out to do the other things we need at some point. Do not hesitate to call the folks at Tip Top to do the work — the «other» tree company out here never returned my calls back in Nov/​Dec for an estimate. We are very happy — Thank You for an outstanding job!

Tom is extremely knowledgeable and answered all my questions. If you are looking for someone to educate you on the condition then I highly recommend this company.

I spoke to Tom Baal from Tip Top Arborists and explained that I needed a consultation report about a Santa Clarita city tree that hung over my property and that one of the tree limbs had fallen onto my roof, causing damage to my clay tiles. Tom came over to take a look and told me that the tree appeared healthy, but that it was natural for the limb to decay and fall, because it was competing for light with so many other trees. In addition to the overcrowding, he said the tree was planted too close to my foundation and could cause future problems. He agreed I could have a report stating as such. Unfortunately that report never came. Tom Baal told me too late that he spoke to his boss who said it would be a conflict of interest to send a report, because they contract with the city. I understand the conflict, but this information should have been disclosed to me BEFORE, so that I would have had a chance to hire a different arborist to give a consultation report prior to the city removing the tree. Tom Baal is now the only arborist to have seen the tree and the promised report would have been crucial to my claim with the city. I called and emailed Jim Lewandowski, President and CEO of Tip Top Arborists requesting an email confirming that a report would be a conflict of interest, but I didn’t receive a response. Tom Baal has also not returned my calls and the city denied my claim for the damage to my roof. I’m giving them two stars instead of one, because Tom Baal did seem knowledgeable.

The man who came for the estimate was very professional and knowledgable. He knew the names of every tree on my property. (I had eucalyptus trees. who knew?). The work that I was having done was clearing out a very large part of a tree that broke off during a wind storm. In addition to that, I decided to have the tree trimmed to prevent further breaking. During the estimate I was also informed of another tree that was dying so he said they’d remove that too. I also asked them to remove these overgrown vines on a walkway.
The price he quoted me seemed fair for the amount of work. However, he quoted me in one lump sum for everything. I would have liked if he itemized the cost per project.
On the day of the actual work they arrived on time (a huge plus in my book). They did a great job. The only thing is that they moved things in my backyard to be free from falling branches but upon completion they never put them back.
So in summary:
— Very professional
— On time
— I can’t comment on the cost of service because I don’t have anything to compare it to. I would have liked the costs broken down by project on the estimation.
— Didn’t return things back to where they were upon completion.
Overall, I recommend them and I would use their services again!

Tip top was great and professional! I got a quote and they revised it 3 times for me because I kept changing what I wanted done. They were very patient and sent me quotes via email. I decided to have three trees removed that were too close to the house and a 4^th one trimmed. Tip top did an amazing job and I would highly recommend to anyone in the SCV. They had everything done and cleaned in a couple of hours. It was like the trees were never there!

I called on a Thursday afternoon, my estimate was done Friday morning and the job was done that afternoon. And it was a very fair price.
I was in the tree service business off and on for over ten years. My dad owned a tree business and I worked for him. I hauled brush, climbed trees, operated a truck and anything else that needed done. It is extremely hard work and very costly to run.
Tip Top did a great job, they did it quickly and I paid a very reasonable price.

I was very reluctant to have someone come and work on my trees. Tip Top came with very high recommendations and so I gave them a try — 10 years ago. They did a fantastic job and left the yard cleaner than when they got there. — AND THEY DIDN’T BREAK ANYTHING!!! Now I have them come and look at tree disease problems, bug problems, fallen limbs and even dreaded tree removal. They show up on time and very courteous. They answer all of my stupid questions and really do a great job — and they don’t cost any more than the random tree trimming guys that leave cards in your door. Excellent!

My wife and I just bought a house not too long ago. The previous owner had a tree right next to the house where their are windows! Of course when it got windy the tree would smash right next to the window and also hitting the roof. We knew this tree just had to go.
I called a few tree places and didn’t get a response until a few days later to a week later! But when I spoke with Tip Top Arborists someone picked up right away and told me they would call me back after a few hours to set up an estimate for the tree to get cut. Luckily the person who called me back, after a few hours, was near by the neighborhood and stopped by to get me an estimate the same day!
We called a few days after to have the tree remove and set up a time. When the time came they were very professional and very QUICK about getting the tree removed. You couldn’t even tell a tree was there.
Needless to say, if we need another tree removed or some tree’s trimmed we’ll be using them again.
