11th Street Records

I’ve been a record head for decades now. I’m sooo glad to have a decent vinyl store in DTLV. The staff is very knowledgeable at 11^th Street and willing to help you find that one awesome piece of vinyl to add to your collection.
This store has records at all price points from the budget collector just looking for a that classic hiss and pop of vinyl to rare Gems worth $ 100+. I like that they have listening stations for use while your browsing but those are always busy so I have a portable battery operated turntable that I bring with when I go record shopping.
The inventory at 11^th Street seems to turn often so the colletion does not get boring. Also in the back they have a full service recording studio. So if you have a band looking to make that next big hit, schedule your studio time today.

Nice selection of both new and used records. Not cheap, but appropriate prices. Walked out with original Big Boys and Mekons records. They had apparently just gotten in a really great punk collection. They had the classics, new indie & punk, as well as a nice selection of more obscure older titles, some reissues and some not.
All the dudes working were friendly and helpful. Very clean and organized. My only complaint with the organization was that it was not separated by genre, so I really had to take the time to look through all the bins to try to find records of specific genres I like. BUT, every shop does it different! Definitely check this spot out!

Very impressive selection, well stocked in jazz and krautrock, and they even have both records by my third or fourth favorite glam artist Jobriath. A little pricey, but that’s to be expected. I had a great time browsing records with my girlfriend, who bought me a Sonny Rollins album, so I’m happy.

Walking into the small quaint record store it seemed like a pretty neat shop. The space is clean, open, and modern – a breath of fresh air from some of the overstuffed and dank record shops in the Valley. The oddest thing though about walking in was the complete lack of any noise or music. Silence in a record shop? An older gentleman sitting behind the counter welcomed us and after a few minutes began playing records over the speakers inside of the joint.
Going through the individual records I was immediately taken back by the organization of the records. No genres, no sections (excluding soundtracks/​classical), rather everything was grouped together in several rows simply organized in alphabetical order. For some it is a blessing, especially when there are often albums that could belong in different genres sorted out by whoever it working that day, but for people who are browsing with specific genres in mind it can be a real pain. Regardless of preference however, the albums are very organized and the few genres that normally are aside from the lot (such as spoken word) are placed on their own. This is a matter of perspective, but something to think about nonetheless.
After a good few minutes making a few selections, I brought them up to the front and asked to look at the conditions of the album. The gentleman working seemed short with me, as if the request was an unreasonable one and told me to be extremely careful. Several of the records I had pulled were listed as «very good» condition, yet had several deep scratches in the record itself – enough to make an unpleasant noise whenever the stylus crossed its path. Now, this is not a dollar record store like Zia or a thrift shop, and as such the expectation is that with a higher premium come records in better conditions. It was during all of this that I saw a record sitting, unsleeved, on the floor maybe giving a hit of just how well they maintain their inventory.
After setting a few aside from their abysmal condition, I asked if I could sample a few of the selections both to make sure some of the scratches were not audible, and to hear a few albums that I was unfamiliar with. With the store being completely empty in the midday, the store clerk gave me a sigh and seemed, again, that I was a nuisance in his shop. Grudgingly, he walked over to the listening station and queued things up, and left me to my devices.
Ultimately I ended up buying a few rather neat albums, but even when checking out was met with the same attitude. While the place has a very welcoming feeling to it – it is not very welcoming at all. I have been to record shops around the nation and stand as an avid collector always looking for the next little shop to pop into and see what they have. Unfortunately, this experience makes never want to return let alone recommend it.
Edit: The owner has personally reached out to me to apologize for my experiences. I’ll be visiting again and will amend this review accordingly.

I’ve always wanted to start a Vinyl collection with my Hubby but only recently has that dream become a reality. As a new collector decided to check out 11^th street records. Great selection, good service, and I love the way the shop is set up. Very pleasant for my first time buying experience. Many more visits in my future.

Wasn’t really feeling this shop. In a bad part of town. Was a lil worried I’d be jacked for my record money before I got to the shop. I hate how everything is just alphabetical order so you can’t shop by genre. Only artist’s name; so know what you’re looking for. The records on the wall are WAY over priced or my collection at home is worth more than I expect. Most of the wall records were $ 80 – 100. I’ve seen these same records for 30−50… I don’t know why certain record shops in Vegas have such high prices. are they relying on the ppl shopping to be dumb UNLV students recently getting into vinyl and not knowing reasonable prices or the whole «what are you gonna do, drive to LA to record shop?» I swear Vegas is the place in the desert where vinyl dies. At these prices no one can afford to buy them seriously

Usually, I avoid going to record stores. Because, usually, they’re always overpriced — both their new and used records.
I was pleasantly surprised by this store and their affordable prices! I also LOVE how it’s setup, with all artists combined in the middle of the store, with their clearance records on the outside. My taste in music varies, so the ability to look at Kanye West and then Weezer and then Stevie Wonder is really convenient for me! I think this is why I almost ended up walking out with a lot more records than originally planned.
I only ended up buying two records (Jefferson Airplane and a-​Ha) and my total only came out to about $ 10! I was super stoked. The cashier was super friendly, and even offered to hold on to my records while a friend and I walked around Fremont Street.
I look forward to returning!

Love this place. Great place for collectors and I found some great records that I could never find at Zia and cheaper too!

They didn’t have everything I wanted, but they had two albums that I’ve been trying to find for months. I’m sorry, but it felt really good finally finding «Ellington At Newport» and Spoon’s «Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga» so I had give these guys 5 stars.
The dudes were really friendly and the store has it’s records organized in a way that makes it easy to find what your looking for. Alphabetical. Not by genre, or modern from classic. Just alphabetical. I’ll be back for sure and I invite anyone who is an avid collector to at least check this place out. I’m sure you’ll (like I was) be pleasantly surprised with their selection.
Viva Lost Vegas and the Downtown revival project! Hope to see this shop and others like it for a long time.

Been going here since opening day, and I love it. So glad Vegas has now a place to shop for records besides Zia and Record City. The selection here at 11^th street is pretty expansive too. Found an original pressing of The Saints and the first Danzig album. They also have a cheaper section too with records ranging from $ 1-​$ 5. They have a nice 45 section too which I am looking forward to seeing it grow.
In the back, there is also a recording studio.
A bonus too is that it is open until midnight, so I can check it before bunkhouse shows.

Breath of Fresh Air in the World of Vinyl.
11^th Street Records is a wonderful vinyl record store that stay’s true to collectors (old and new). The staff provides very warm customer service and the store is organized in a simple alphabetical fashion and not by genre. There is a great collection of records that are reasonably priced (old and new) by market value. Older records are priced by condition.
Pros: great customer service; understanding; great collection of vinyl
Cons: poor parking (remember, look both ways before crossing the street!)

Nice, newly opened record store downtown! Has very convenient hours compared to most record stores (open until midnight) and has a vast selection of both new and old vinyl. I’m sure that in the future I will frequent this place more often when more old albums come through the door.

Really nice little shop. Selection weighted heavily towards newer, hipster vinyl (plenty of Lana Del Ray). Prices pretty high compared to Zia on the lower end stuff (I bought every Thompson Twins record for $ 1/​each at Zia, for example). Its not organized by genre so browsing is a slow process. Wish it was more like Moondog Records in that regard. I found five records I wanted, three were too scratched up to purchase. I’ll be back to see how they grow the inventory.

It’s a beautiful thing to have a store like this in vegas. All vinyl, new used and rare, excellent selection, first time there I found a Charles Mingus record I have been looking for for years.

Decided to visit 11^th Street Records as it has been in business for just about a week now. This place is incredible. It also helps that a lot of their inventory can be seen on their website — I planned out which artists I was going to look for, prior to arrival. Store is easy to navigate, very organized, and clean. Prices are fair for condition, & I was even able to find some NM stuff for dirt cheap. Store is organized by artist name, but they keep classical and soundtracks separate. Massive amount of sealed and used records — many of the records I picked up or had seen today, are grossly overpriced or unavailable at «Record Exchange» or other b&m retailer. They also sell cassettes if you still have a tape deck in your car. Staff didn’t interact with us, but that’s fine. I saw that they had a couple players on which you could test before purchasing. Overall, I had a fun experience and will be stopping by more often. Thanks

Saw them written up in las Vegas Weekly and thought I give them a shot and see what they are all about… and I’m glad I did.
I’m in the top 1% of the 1% of record buyers and I was totally blown away about the entire layout of the store. The front store look from outside is immaculate. Once you enter the door you will standing in the best kept, cleanest record store with every single last record in perfect alphabetical order. This record store is so clean and perfect you would think you entered into the abode of a Japanese record collector.
The stock from what I saw had a great array of music from the late 50’s to present with only a few genres not accounted for (Classical for example). Many harder to find records can be found here and I assure you will be found in the future for sale here.
The employees have ZERO ego. Met what I believe was the whole entire staff and everyone was friendly, into their music and willing to help out a moments notice. How friendly are the staff? I think if I threw them my car keys and told them to gas it up, they would do so and even clean the car windows.
Store owner is a very laid back dude and offered me a beverage of my choice. I wish him all the best.
Now about prices that many to know about… are they cheap or expensive or fair market? I will say that to me about 90% of what I’ve seen in the store is exactly fair market rate and the remaining 10% is either a bit more or a bit less. I found many great deals in the $ 1,600 I spent there in my visit.
Heck, the employees even carried my records (alot of them) to my car!!!
I will be back again and again and recommend all to stop here. Hands down best record store in LV.

There’s nothing better than a new vinyl shop opening, especially when it’s the direct opposite of what you’re used to. Here in Vegas, the only «real» record store is Record City on East Charleston, due, in a large part, to the customer service offered by store manager, Joey. The recent omission by The Las Vegas Weekly of both Record City and Joey in their article about the vinyl renaissance is both shocking and laughable; I will save that diatribe for another review. It’s refreshing to know that the owner of 11^th Street is committed to selling records and not opening yet another record museum, like the two we already have in town: Wax Trax and Moon Dog’s. If I may digress just once more, I find it hilarious that Elton John has allied himself with Rich Rosen of all people. Then again, money is no object for Elton, and both he and Rosen are egomaniacs («Birds of a feather…). Back to the topic at hand: 11^th Street is in a great location, has a decent selection, and the staff was friendly. My opinion of the prices are that they are somewhat inconsistent, but overall fair. I will definitely be a regular, since I live within walking distance. If you are serious about vinyl, you will be as well. Happy flipping!

I was here on opening day which was also Record Store Day. The place was completely packed, barely enough room to wiggle around as it is in s small location right next to the Bunkhouse.
The décor is minimal as they have just opened but the selection they have is amazing. Everything from jazz, blues, punk, hip hop, electro, 80’s, you name it they have it. The walls are lined with first print vinyls that are must haves for collectors. With the recent resurgence it cassettes, they are also carrying some as well.
I only come to expect great things from this location to come. We have a very limited market here in Vegas for record stores like this, so for 11^th street to come by is completely heaven sent.

First day here and first opening day. Awesome selection, clean, organized and no hoopla. I used to work with some of the staff at another record store in town and I’m stoked that this place is open. I love that they do not filter out their records by category. It makes the record shopping experience that more enjoyable. I will definitely be returning and will be a regular here.
