Advanced Urgent Care

I was in some serious pain and my regular doctor did not have any openings for the day. I walked in there were 4 other people waiting. Everyone from the front desk to the doctor who saw me was surprisingly very nice. The reason for the negative review is for the EXTREMELY LONG wait. I checked in at 1:11 pm and didn’t leave until 3:25 pm. Seriously!!! What takes so freaking long!!! I was getting super impatient and the fact that I was in pain was not helping the situation. Another con is that the waiting room is tiny. There were probably about 15 chairs super close together. So if you’re a claustrophobic germaphobe, then you’re SOL. There is a hand sanitizer dispenser and a restroom if you start to get germ panicky. Next time I’m in need of quick care, I’ll just drive the extra mile to a different location.

I’ve been coming here for a couple of years now and I have had no complaints. I normally don’t have to wait very long to be seen, and the doctors have all been very polite and helpful. The facility itself is very clean and located in a nice area.

It is so very frustrating dealing with the staff at any urgent care facility. I just got off the phone with the office manager for Advance Urgent Care. Although she was mostly polite in that condescending but can’t really prove it sort of way. I feel like all they do is double talk and cause confusion and in the end it doesn’t really matter what happens they expect you to pay whatever price they’ve decided and that’s the end of it. It seems that I only paid $ 20 when I originally went on ¹²⁄₂₀₁₄ and they want me to pay an additional $ 36.10. Originally, she told me that I have a $ 50 copay (she said she had my health insurance card and it shows that I am to pay $ 50. When I asked why the person at the desk only charged me $ 20 she said that it is my responsibility to correct them and inform them of my copay amount. I’m not sure how many people while trying to get in at an urgent care facility are worrying about making sure the copay amount is correct. I mean seriously, can you please train your staff to know how to request the correct payment? Then she told me that my copay for this day was only $ 20 but that I owed an additional $ 36.10 towards my deductible. I said the word «incredulous» more than once and she replied well, «I guess that is your favorite word.»
Why do we keep putting up with terrible service and letting them charge us without understanding why we are paying these amounts? If I remember correctly, the Dr was a bit kooky too. I can’t say any other urgent care center is necessarily better than this one, but I’d recommend avoiding it. Perhaps if we keep avoiding the really bad ones, it will send a message and they’ll be forced to improve?

This place is the opposite of URGENT… Staff is busy doing other things other than the paperworks they need to take care of. Their ASAP & STAT orders are processed like normal orders which shouldn’t be and they take forever. Front clerk have a hard time looking for a patients profile in their system. Scary if you ask me! Overall, their system suck!

DO NOT GO TO THIS URGENT CARE. WORST FACILITY, SLOW SERVICE AND MOST OF THEIR EMPLOYEES ARE RUDE! waited an hour for a fucking doctor to come out only to find out he left an hour ago! then the receptionist was rude as fuck when we asked how long it was going to take even. fuck this place!

This place is shit. I had an appointment first thing in the morning and they had me wait over an hour and a half. When I went up and told them I was leaving and to give me my copay back they assured me I would be seen right away only to put me in a room and wait another hour. In the meantime I was observing the staff playing hanky panky with each other and totally ignoring the patients. As I was waiting in the waiting room a woman came in who had been hit by a motorcycle and they said they would see her right away, she sobbed in agony in the waiting room for over 30 minutes and then left to find another provider. Honestly the worst most unprofessional place I have ever been to. Once I did see the doctor he sucked too. Do yourself a huge favor and do not come to this horrible place.

This is the most unprofessional primary care i have ever been to the front desk person maria is so disrespectful iv scheduled 3 appointments when i called i wasnt on the schedule how unprofessional dont ever go here worst place ever. If you care about your health find a good doctor these people are qacks

Received an invoice in August for our visit showing a «New, Expanded Visit» charge of $ 327.90 which was «adjusted» down to $ 94.33 balance due by patient. Spoke with Office Manager, described our visit and told her this bill is unacceptable. Office manager was polite, but did try to explain away some of my experience. Am awaiting confirmation of a «courtesy adjustment» to bring the balance to $ 0.00! Gee, thanks.

Was sick after a Mediterranean cruise. After a week went to Advanced Urgent Care since it was close & approved by my insurance. Stephanie at the front desk was very nice. Jerome Z was the OD on duty! Not sure he’s educated or filling a spot. He was very rude & would only address one of my symptoms. I asked the nurse if she could have him give me a zpack for my cold at least. Shr told me he was already gone to lunch & it would be another office call. I had to go somewhere else for Lab work & was to return the next week. When I got there he said he was surprised to see me so soon. I reminded him of lab work & so he looked for it. Some of the results weren’t back. He said the office can call you so you don’t have to come back in. Still waiting 2 weeks later & still having health issues!
I don’t recommend this place at all.

My first time coming and I took my son in. We do not have any insurance $ 100 for the first time and $ 60 anytime after. We have already seen the doctor just waiting to be checked out total hour spend has been an hour not bad.

Don’t recommend coming here. Even if you make an appointment you are waiting an hour or more.

Honestly if I could give them no star… I would. Dr Jeramy Ziosko is absolutely the worst doctor I have ever experienced… He was sooo rude and honestly should retire because he is truly miserable at what he is doing.

I have a bit of additional insight to this place — I use to do IT work for them so I see a bit of the back end that most people don’t see and a peek into the organization. I have also been a patient through them because they are close and have long hours
To start positively, there are some staff that are actually good at what they do and are friendly, kind people. When I’ve had to go in as a patient they always say Hi to me even if they aren’t the ones to see me. This is probably more because I’ve had a professional relationship with them but even when I’ve observed them with other people they still have the same positive attitude. The problem is, they aren’t always there. Most staff that I’ve talked to as far as PAs and MAs are part time and work part time at other facilities as well. Only like 1 or 2 office staff I found were good to work with.
The big problem is management — there is almost no competent management in place. There is also a bunch of cross-​over with another group that handles the billing, accounting, paperwork side called PCC (Primary Care Consultant). There is like 2 – 3 competent people on that side that I’ve worked with. The rest are poorly trained or don’t care of the fiancé’ of the owner of AUC and is both hardly there (because she works part time elsewhere) and not competent management. It is this poor owner/​management that doesn’t see or care about the issues (mainly because they aren’t around) that produces high PA and MA turn over, poor training and oversight, and a general lack of organization, efficiency, and followup. They higher cheap, don’t train, don’t have good management and therefor produce an inferior product of customer. Honestly they aren’t the only medical group to have this problem — I see it all over the place in Vegas that it is almost typical.
As a patient, I’ve had to wait long times in the waiting room (though not expected really when they just have one PA on duty in the evenings and I go in with no appointment) but generally not too long in the patient rooms and have had ok medical service. I usually already know what I need before I walk in the door. While they are listed as my PCP, I do not go to them other than for when I need to see a doc after 5pm and/​or need to see someone right away. My wife has used them in the past and refuses to use them again. Their back end staff for referrals and scheduling are not organized, communicate poorly, and slow to follow through (see previous paragraph).
I recommend using them for just sniffles and emergency triage, not for long term care or more serious things and even then other places are probably better.

Something is wrong with the front desk, extremely uncomfortable, I felt like I walked into the twilight zone. For a second I thought the staff where on drugs but then realized there just unhappy people. Thank god that’s over with…

Finding a primary care doctor in Vegas is EXTREMELY difficult. I come here on an as needed basis. The hours are convenient, open 7 days, until 9pm during the week. I have been coming here for years for convenience, and sadly my health has suffered as a result.
Long story short, I went here for pre-​op testing — I needed medical clearance for a scheduled surgery. The doctor told me if there was an issue with my tests, anything to prevent my surgery from going forward, they would call.
THEY NEVER DID.
14 hours before my surgery my surgeon/​podiatrist calls to cancel my surgery. She received the fax from Urgent Care clearing me, but the individual test results clearly indicated I SHOULD NOT have been cleared. She called & spoke with the Dr who cleared me, wanting to know WTH was he thinking!!! clearing me with those results.
Thank God my podiatrist, Dr Nicole Delassandro is as thorough as she is. Thank God she’s more of a doctor than the ones who work here. If she weren’t thorough & reviewed my test results herself, if she just took the word of this Urgent Care doctor… I could have died on that table!
If you value your life & health, don’t come here.
ALSO…MediCare beneficiaries pay attention. If you have an auto accident, they will tell you they can’t bill for services & you have to hire an attorney to be seen on a lien OR have MedPay on your auto policy. THIS IS A LIE AND IT IS VERY MUCH ILLEGAL. They make more money from accident cases than they do from MediCare. You should be treated & receive medical care because you need it, not based on who has deeper pockets. I

Got in early due to a stomach bug. They had me in and out in 90 minutes, which isn’t bad compared to most. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable.

I was scheduled to meet with Dr. Jorgenson on my first visit. However, while he books appointments and has his name in the window, he apparently no longer practices there. So I was treated by an elderly doctor instead. I would guess him to be in his 80’s and not all mentally there.
After the visit, the receptionist called to remind me my follow up appointment was at 10am. I show up and they say it’s actually 11am. As of noon, I was still in the lobby waiting to be seen… eventually leaving the office… now late for another appointment.
The atmosphere of the office is dark. The receptionist is abrupt and somewhat rude. They don’t seem to really care about their customers; you’re just a number to them. I’d think twice before going to this clinic again.

Had some family in town for a few days and the little sister took a pretty bad tumble one night — her ankle swelled up to about two times her other ankle! We gave her some ice & ibuprofen and hoped she’d be alright the next morning since her flight was leaving that day… Cue 8AM day of flight — to urgent care we went, I did not want to go to this urgent care because of the ratings on Unilocal.However, when I called around to get current wait times at other urgent cares, i got rude people on the other end — Advanced Urgent Care was the only one who was pleasant to speak with over the phone and give me an idea of their wait time (most others won’t because you could end up there longer.) she told me there were 6 people waiting at that time. So we took a deep breath and headed over.
We had a 2 hour wait which was totally not fun, which was aggravating, and of course we wished it was a shorter wait time.
But, the lady behind the front counter was sweet & patient with everybody and once we got in, the nurse who checks vitals and gets you into a room was funny & genuinely concerned. Also, as little sis was hobbling around the office — a man noticed and immediately put her on the list for an x-​ray.
Wait time about 2.5 hours, time in back about 30 – 45 min. But it’s the people that make this a great urgent care.
If you have an emergency, go to the ER.
If you need a general doctor, go find one.
Stop clogging up the Urgent Care waiting rooms!

This past week I had been suffering from a terrible bug that caused horrific, constant coughing attacks before advancing to a stuffed right ear. It was so bad that the last sentence would sound like, «This past week, cough, cough, cough…» This bug was now turning into a beast that lived in my chest. It was time to visit the doctor. Yesterday from 4:30 to 7:14 p.m., I spent a few hours of my life having Advanced Urgent Care Nightlight Pediatrics work on bringing me back to health. The best way to describe the visit is being in a movie that could be called «Bug Busters.»
Scene 1: The Waiting Room
Advanced Urgent Care is located in the corner spot of a Home Goods/​Lowe’s plaza closest to Eastern and St. Rose Parkway. The waiting room is not the biggest or cleanest space. When I walked in, the receptionist had me fill out two sheets of paperwork and asked for my health provider card and driver’s license. She was not the friendliest person in the world. Then again neither was I on account of my coughing. With that said, Advanced Urgent Care accepts a large variety of health providers. The fact that they accept Aetna is what led led me here. Once I filled out the paperwork, I waited 14 minutes to enter the corridors of the clinic.
Scene 2: Introductory testing
Once inside the clinic, one of a few nurse practitioners that helped me today, asked me some questions about my medical history. She would take my temperature and write down some notes for Dr. Don Gregory.
Scene 3: Dr. Don Gregory’s examination
The nurse practitioner led me into another room where Dr. Don Gregory examined my breathing and ears. He directed me to breath in and out deeply then checked my ears. He seemed like a nice older gentleman who would tell me that he is going to make me healthy. This would be the most that I saw of him.
I would wait for the next part of the process. There would be a lot of waiting. It is a common perception to think of walk in clinics as the McDonald’s of health care. As I waited, it was obvious that I was not waiting on Ronald McDonald but a Doctor who was busy balancing his time between a few patients with their own pain. It was also obvious that regardless of the steps of the process that the visit would end with a prescription for antibiotics.
Scene 4: X-​rays
After a few minutes of waiting, a nurse practitioner leads me to another room. She would take x-​rays of my chest. For the record, Advanced Urgent Care features top x-​ray equipment.
Scene 5: Ear flush
After more waiting, another nurse practitioner led me to bay three (the rooms are called bays) to flush out my ears. I’d spend several minutes lying on a bed leaning on each side of my ear. With the fluid and stuffed ear, I could just make out the roaring traffic on Eastern and the basketball game on the radio. Just like all the nurse practitioners here, the woman who flushed out my ears was professional but not too friendly.
Scene 6: The prescription
As expected, the visit ended with a prescription. A nurse practitioner gave me the prescription and a note excusing me from work. Dr. Don Gregory closed the visit by emphasizing that I drink lots of fluids. In hindsight it would have been nice if he would have told me what I have wrong with me. Over and above it all, I am optimistic that Dr. Don Gregory’s prescription is the bug buster that brings me back to health, Knock on wood.
