Cambridge Apartments

I personally have had a bad experience in this so call cleaned up high rise. They seem to have excuses all the time. I recommend no one to move in this prime apartments. They will raise the rent ridiculously high. The 4 stars is to show you how bad.

Here is my experience with this place. They are very untrustworthy. My roommate and I found a unit we loved after spending hours with the lady showing us around. Her name was LaTasha. We finally decided it was time for us to apply and she told us we could go home and apply online. By the time we got home a couple hours later, we went online and realized the apartment was already leased to someone else. Nobody called us to let us know the apartment was taken. They basically screwed us over and we were left with nowhere to live. Latasha gave us the impression the unit was ours and they were saving it for us. The way they treated us was unacceptable.

So, the apartment is still a nice place to live at but with the new management taking over, there are definitely some pros and cons compared to what we had before.
I’ll start with the cons first:
1. So this first one is independent of the management. I’ve visited some of the other apartments that Las Vegas has to offer and have come to realize how thin the walls are. On one side, I have neighbors that smoke constantly and I can smell the smoke in my kitchen (which is completely closed off). On the other side, sometimes the neighbors are just talking and it feels like they’re on my balcony talking.
2. Right when the new management moved in, I had a hard time getting a maintenance request fulfilled. My fridge decided it wasn’t going to chill things anymore — milk would spoil within 3 days in the fridge, and bottles of water took almost 4 days to freeze in the freezer. I talked to management about it and the first time no one came to take a look at the fridge until I went back a second time (which occurred maybe a week afterwards). After I went to management the second time, I noticed that they went through my fridge, probably made some adjustments, and my fridge still wasn’t working as expected. I went to management a third time, and things finally got moving. Later that day, the facilities came into my apartment while I was around, I told them about my milk and water situation and then they brought up another fridge (FINALLY). The whole ordeal took about a month. It probably would have taken less time had I been more assertive.
3. So because of the renovations, water is VERY unreliable. Understandably, whenever a shut off is scheduled, we would get a one day notice on our doors however there were A LOT of unexpected shut offs. Today, I received an email from the resident notification system saying that ‘due to an unforeseen emergency, hot water has been shut off.. .. the hot water will be back on in approximately 4 hours.’ I received the email around noon. It is currently 10pm and I still have no hot water. With the previous management, I never had any issues with water shut off, and definitely I was not left in the dark for 10 hours on whether or not I will be able to shower tonight, or tomorrow morning.
Pros:
1. Aesthetics. That’s it. The building’s interior and exterior look better, but that is it.
2. I didn’t have that many pests before (maybe one tiny itty-​bitty roach once every 2 months (maybe?) but now since new management has moved in, I haven’t seen a single bug. So I guess the new facilities do keep the apartment a lot cleaner, compared to previous management.
I honestly think with the whole renovations, it was more trouble to the current residents than it was an ‘increase to the quality of life’? Since I have been living here, I noticed a lot of the previous residents have left.
I’m not exactly sure why they left, I just don’t see a lot of the familiar faces I used to see.
Speaking from my experience living here 2 years with ‘old’ management — with the new management moved in, my rent has increased (not too crazy since I resigned a 1 year lease), every day is more or less noisy because some units are being upgraded, and water is constantly being shut off or it’s unreliable.
If my previous rating of Cambridge Park Towers was 4 stars, I’d have to give Cambridge Apartments probably a 3.5.

We love how it is located in a central area, we love the upgrading of the units that are being done, and the staff has been amazing during this process…

I recently moved into Cambridge in Jan. 2015. Prior to applying, I was very hesitant due to the area of town… however I am happy I did. We have experianced a few plumbing issues, but what can you expect in an older highrise building. The floorplans are huge and the price is the best when comparing. The maintenance staff is very attentive and office staff appear to all be models; so gorgeous. The property as a whole is very nice and I am excited to see the changes planned for the gym.

i had no idea what the hell one of the resident told me when i just moved in. if you are looking at to move in this apartment please don’t even try. even though they are under renovation at the moment, things can’t be fixed just by fixing the visual part of the apartment. this is real story. when i received tour, they showed me a better unit and when i moved in, the unit i received was horrible which i still bare to live on.
*master bedroom mirrored case did not have any of shelves,
*window screen fell apart so when i try open the window screen just fell to the ground btw i live in 3^rd floor which could been ended up with terrible wound.
*the wall was cracked,
*paint had a lot of stain
*shower tub had peeled off paint and unbalanced bottom. water stays there when you are done with shower.
*1~2 week: giant roach came out, small roaches and insect comes in and out through the gap of main entrance door.
*2~3 week: dishwasher back flow. disposal back flow. happened total 3 times. ended up taking out the pipe. did not put any shell, bone or anything hard inside, i used to be a chef i know what to put in the disposal and what to not.
*4~5 week: shower tub drain back flow, seemed like some one who shared the pipe line from upstairs put marble, razor blade and stuff in there.
*5 week: disposal back flow again, this time filthy water came out through the master bathroom. had to wash out the whole carpet area and took out the insole.
don’t be surprised after came back from work you will find toilet over flow with most disgusting things in the world without even touch your toilet.
oh you need renter’s insurance and if you choose high deductible for this apartment, you are basically screwed like me.
