Moved from Las Vegas to Orlando Florida. Before our big moved called to make sure we can transfer service they said yes. Called back once we moved and was informed neighborhood we moved too they were unable to transfer service at that there would be no termination fee. Received bill 200.00 termination fee. So called spoke to 4 different people and was hung up one twice 2 hours later still no answer. The contract we signed never said anything about these hidden fees. We were told no charge by one person then different by others. So many hidden fees that make no sense awful experience.

Internet continually had problems with this service. If you call into the office you constantly get sent one department to the next no internal communication. The technicians do not have enough training in my opinion nor does the customer service representatives. The Supervisors don’t understand the hierarchy of their company when asked to speak to a Manager. Absolutely poor service.

I feel everyone’s anger lol. I tried to go in just to make a payment and they closed 10mins early and ignored me. I didn’t even have to talk to them just use the machine.
When I came in 2 days later I just wanted to get some answers regarding my bill and without taking my info the employee said it was because of late fees taxes and charges but when she finally checked they charged me for a service and modem I never got.
*Also if you need to call they don’t transfer your calls. Waited 20mins 3 times.

Is there a review of less than one? I was Century Links customer for 19 years. I sold my house and moved in with a friend. I have been asking for my refund for 4 months now. Interesting, if I owed them for 4 months, my service would have been disconnected. These people have given me the run around every time I’ve called. Right now I’ve been on hold for 18 minutes and a lady answers in financial services, but she can’t help me because she’s in Arizona and I’m in Nevada. I’ve had to listen to their bs messages and bad music for 20 minutes now. She transferred me to an automated line and I’m still trying to get a person to talk to me.

Ok… I barely ever rant about bad service but I’m actually pretty pissed right now. After almost two years of $ 77 a month for 10Mbps (which is as slow as molasses) with CenturyLink, just for the fun of it I do a search and find out that this same provider is offering 25Mbps for $ 34.99. Hmm… big difference. Why didn’t they contact me to tell me I could save some money. Right… they wouldn’t do that.
Yesterday after almost 2 hours on hold I finally get them to respond and say that they will update my billing and up my service. Great! Tech will be out tomorrow between 12pm — 4pm.
Forward tomorrow (now). No tech yet and it’s 4:45pm so I call and get someone on the line telling me that he’s a little behind but he will be at my house by 5pm. So… giving him the benefit of the doubt I don’t call CenturyLink until 5:15pm… I get someone on the phone and they tell me… «Oh, we’re sorry. He couldn’t make it out and you’ll have to reschedule.»
I’m sitting on the phone right now on hold to talk to a ‘supervisor’. Yeah… if it wasn’t a monopoly and such a PIA to change providers I’d do it right now.

CenturyLink is by far and away the worst internet provider I’ve ever experienced… And, I’ve had dial up. I’ve been on hold for over an hour. Last time they answered they couldn’t find my account. Wow. It took them like 3 tries to install my internet when I moved it. It’s really been a comedy of errors.

I signed up for their promotion and I was charged $ 200 for my first bill. I called in and was transferred 4 times and no one can see any notes that they quoted me differently or that they did not ship me a gift card. I have had nothing but bad luck with them. I had to get on a payment plan. I paid by December 29, 2015. They turned off my internet and left me with phone service. I have had nothing but reps telling me the previous reps did not make notes on my account. Makes me look crazy and I am so upset.

I lost my Internet connection with my Century Link modem. I called and the rep spent 30 min resetting the modem. All connections were working when we ended the call. Within 2 hours I had lost the connection again. As it is the Monday after Christmas the customer lines were busy and I got disconnected 3 times before speaking with someone. After trying another hard restart and efforts to determine the source of the problem, JoAnn said that they were going to have to determine whether this is an outage or bad modem. As they continued to investigate she called me every hour for 4 hrs to see if I had regained my connection. Because a tech needs to come out and I am with spotty service I was offered a discount for the time I am without working Internet (without asking!). Excellent!

If you like choppy tv, slower-​than-​dial-​up internet and wildly fluctuating monthly charges then try CenturyLink.

Centurylink is the only provider in our current area. We’ve paid for the fastest high speed they offer but they SUCK. We have trouble every morning with our email that takes forever to wake up. And tonight we ordered a Ppv movie thru Directv. First half of Momentum was awesome. Now that the action is kicking in we start getting «buffering» warnings. Called the # for centurylink and they transferred to directv. Directv blamed it on centurylink. They both suck. We hope that we get to see the final half of the movie we paid for tomorrow. We have no choice. Cox cable isn’t available at our current home. Had Cox at the last home and never gad this kind of problem. Centurylink and Directv should go into retirement until they can provide better service.

Where do I begin? Internet service is slower than dial up, a 1 hour movie will take u +2 hours to watch. My first bill was $ 100 higher than what I was quoted. After talking to customer service they adjusted it, was quoted another amount but the bill I received at the end of the month was even higher than the 2^nd quote. Month 2 called customer service and bill was quoted another amout, they promised to adjust month #1 error, when I received the end of the 2^nd months bill it was $ 300??? For slow internet! Canceled my service and never got my money back from them. Stay away from his company! U will be disappointed like +90% of their customers, save your time and money.

I have to agree with previous reviews. I was quoted $ 25 if I bundled with DirectTv, but when I got my first bill — -it was for $ 201.00! The bill showed the monthly charge at $ 123.25 for my «package charges»! What! I’m only getting internet! I called customer service and was told this was the correct charge! More for my internet then my whole cable bill??? DON’T use them! They lie! I am calling back Monday to see if another rep can solve this! I am so angry! One star is too much!
The additional charges were for installation charges, activation fee, and shipping and handling;
None of the additional charges were divulged when I signed up! They didn’t install anything… I did a self install! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

Internet had been down all day yesterday and today they said they probably won’t have it up till tomorrow night. What kinds of crud is that?

Do not do business with this company. Just had the most horrible experience by a customer service representative. First of all called to cancel the service because the service is only providing us with 10% of the Internet strength it should. I waited on hold for an hour. The gentleman that answered told me it was my fault because of the time that I was calling. Then I asked him him to cancel my service and he immediately stated is there anything else I can help you with… I asked what he did and he advised I did not want to talk to him so he was not going to help me. I asked him repeatedly to cancel the service and when he refused to, I asked to speak to a manager and he hung up on me. Now they are closed and I have to call back to get the service cancelled. I have never had such a horrible experience before in my life.

Worst customer service. Terrible internet speeds. Terrible phone system to speak to someone. Rude, incompetent employees. Don’t use. Waste of time and money

I would give Century Link 0 stars if possible. I’m currently paying every month for internet that doesn’t work. This company is horrible to their customers. I met a technician for this company that was bewildered as to why I didn’t go with Cox. I am beyond upset with their lack of service. I’m paying them money for no reason. I will try to get out of this contract ASAP.

Terrible service, or lack of… They charge too much for slower internet speed than the competition. Glad I finally decided to investigate my options. Turns out I got faster internet and phone service from the competitor for less money. And Centurylink customer service is just a bunch of telemarketers trying to upsell you on their crappy Prism TV or a bundling package with Direct TV, whom I wouldn’t recommend either. Do your homework and don’t settle unless its all they have in your area.

I made an account on Unilocal just to forewarn anyone about remotely even thinking about getting century link.
First off, the cost of many CenturyLink packages are more expensive than their alternatives in Vegas; 3 mbps for 35 $ versus the 5 mbps for 33 $ at Cox. While the company boasts 1 gigabit connections, the service is only offered in remote locations in the city to certain buyers. My neighborhood is only offered the 3 mbps plan, so I reluctantly agreed. However, even though the package I purchased was supposed to be 58 $ before tax, the bill came out to be 100 $. After numerous phone calls and threatening to cancel, the service finally gave me my package discount.
The service side is also just as lackluster as the label on the box. While I’m not an IT specialist, the quality of their help was meaningless in addition to their useless modem. If you ever get stuck with CenturyLink, DO NOT GET THE pk5001z MODEM. It’s an abomination of a device that is a combination of a router and a modem, yet cannot do either. The wireless routing capabilities of the modem make it needlessly slow. Read any review on the modem online — it’s a mess of a machine with a spaghetti code built in to drop your signal whenever you use anything close to the speed you pay for. Even after bridging it, the modem disconnects frequently.
Complaining to the company itself will lead to instructions written on the modem box itself with phrases such as:
«Have you cycled the power?»
«Try other phone lines»
«Do you have filters?»
When such questions are answered, they reply with «we’re sending a technician».
Even though a technician never came after the 12 inquiries I’ve sent to the company. To make matters worse, the company intends to charge an additional 7.99 $ per month in maintenance fees.
Aside from the hardware problems, CenturyLink also throttles internet speeds quickly, lowering the speed down to a third of the price I paid for (WHICH HAS BEEN DEEMED ILLEGAL RECENTLY BY THE FCC). Hopefully someone sues the company already so we won’t have this problem.
I’ve had more problems with CenturyLink in 2 months than any other ISP.

I had cox, & paying what I thought was too much for internet, phone & cable.
Being pregnant 9 months pregnant & being in a new apartment w/​my bf, I liked the idea of having to only pay for internet since out apartment provided free basic cable, & we both had cell phones so didn’t need a home phone either.
The centurlink sales girl broke everything down for us & assured us that we would only be paying $ 67.00 a month & also told us that their slowest internet service was Cox’s fastest. So of course, we agreed to sign up!
So, our first months bill arrives & to our surprise, $ 96.00??? REALLY? REEEAAALLY!!! Most people would say that isn’t much, but being a new parent, AND signing a paper ASSURING that we will only be paying $ 67 for ONLY internet, you can understand our frustration. We only signed up for internet, but we were charged for an internet, phone, & cable bundle. W T F. So we called Centurylink & they gave us some bullshit excuse about why it came up to $ 96. We were told it came up to 96 because we hadn’t signed up for auto-​pay. But when we spoke with the representative, she told us that it woulf be $ 57.00 WITH auto-​pay, & $ 67.00 WITHOUT autopay, sooo how TF did it come up to $ 96???
Okay, that was the FIRST month, which was in March. Every month after that has been slooooow.
When July came, my internet just stopped working. So of course, I call Centurylink in the morning, & after being on hold for a good 20 minutes, I get on with a lady who gives us some stupid excuse about how their are people repairing the service in our area & that everything would be back up by 7:00 that night… So we leave & get home at 10:30 pm, only to find out that the internet is still not working.
Everyday after that, up until this day, the internet is STILL not up & running. They even gave me a new modem for free which was a waste of time because my internet is still not working with this bran new modem. It’s been a whole month & they just sent me a bill.
WHY WOULD I PAY A BILL FOR A SERVICE THAT I AM NOT EVEN ABLE TO USE LET ALONE BE PROVIDED THE HELP TO FIX IT.
I have called centurylink everyday for the past two weeks, which was only a waste of time because nobody, not ONE person has helped me with my internet issue. Most of the time, I was on hold rather than being helped.
I was complaining about Cox being so expensive, mind you I had no problems with the services though (just the prices). I was happy that I would only be paying for internet at a low price…
Long story short…
YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

Negative 500 stars if possible. I’ve never even had their service (only received a quote) and they sent me a bill for $ 419.88. I called about it and they said everything was fine. Then, a «pre-​collection» notice came in the mail from IC System claiming I owed the balance.
Long story short, it’s taken me months to correct this and I’m writing this so you avoid CenturyLink AT ALL COSTS. I’ve filed grievances with as many entities as possible.
Save yourself a major headache and go with another company.
