This place was so good. We got seated right away, the hostess was very pleasant. Then the waiter came and got our drinks. They give free salsa and chips which is delicious… We ordered nachos and the enchiladas. The nachos have tons of cheese but they were good. The enchilada were great tasting too. Daughters taquitos were a little overlooked for her liking. The waiter was very attentive and they even gave us to go cups for our drinks. We ordered the deep fried ice cream to go and I suggest you do the same. Overall the place is very good and I would definitely recommend it.

We used to really love this place their food was still good but their prices were to the top everything was all a cart they give you small sides for large prices for one person’s pay-round about $ 19-$ 20 just not worth it and the service was lacking very much

My husband and I love coming here. The food is great and the margaritas are amazing! The staff is always friendly and making sure we have enough salsa. One waiter Carlos has always treated us especially nice making it a point to always come over and say hi even when we are not in his section.

In my top 3 for Mexican restaurants. Pros: consistently yummy food, friendly service, Tamales can be ordered for pick up, large areas can accommodate parties. Cons: sometimes slow service, ocassionally odiferous dining area due to– I’m guessing –smelly grease traps. The Ranchero sauce makes everything good!

Horrible!!! never again. We decided for tamales and menudo. It was a party of 8 and they said the wait was going to be 45 minutes. We understood since we were a large party. About 30 minutes later they sit us down. They get our drink orders and bring chips. We place our order and then this is where it went to hell. In 30 minutes we had 1 refill on coffee and no status on our food. At 45 minutes of waiting and everyone starving. We decided to hunt down a server. He check on our food and told us we still had 2 parties ahead of us before they start on our food. Mind you this place was not packed, it was average. We decided we were leaving. So I head to the register and ask the hostess to charge me for the drinks. I told her we want to leave because it’s taking too damn long for already made tamales and menudo. She tells me the total is $ 116. WTF!?! I tell her no I’m not paying for the food u guys didn’t bring. She states it’s already entered so I have to charge you. I tell her no she doesn’t because I never receive the food. We argue back and forth then she states oh well we told u it would be 45 minutes! Yeah u did but 45 minutes to sit down not 45 minutes to get our food(not including the 30 minutes we waited). Our server finally shows up and he was like oh it’s not my fault. I don’t care who’s fault it is, I was not paying for her food. So I demanded to speak to the supervisor… she takes off and comes back a minute later telling me oh he said u can leave and he won’t charge you. Oh thanks but I don’t need a damn hand out, I would pay what we drank but that’s it. She said no he said it’s okay. So needless to say we WILLNEVEREVERCOMEBACKHEREAGAIN!!!

5 star for friendly service & beautiful décor. Cute date spot. Too bad food was disappointing. Everything was bland & over cooked. Nothing was seasoned. Tamales were old??? Just tasted like boiled pork that sat in water too long. Not the place to go for Mexican food but nice to hang out for snacks. Chips were fresh & grilled prawns wrapped in bacon was yummy.

Over priced for what you get. I was expecting good chicken tamales from here, only to be let down. Masa and chicken had no flavor what so ever. The service here was okay but nothing memorable.

I’m giving this place two stars because the prices of the meals were way to over priced, especially for okay food. I got huevos rancheros and… Never again… Hahaah. I will say that the server was very nice though! I got the melon margarita which was delicious, and he let me try the banana margarita too. Soooo I might go back to try the different flavored margaritas which are pricy too, but that’s about it.

The tamales are always fresh and made to perfection, if you call at least 10 minutes ahead of time they will be ready for you by the time you arrive. They have two locations and the are both easy to get to because they are close to the freeway.

Great place to get great, delicious Mexican food. The staff is very nice and they made sure I was taken care of. The food comes in good portions is a great value. The chicken chimichanga was delicious and came with a good portion of beans and rice. Great place to order soup as well. Definitely would come back.

I went here last night for the first time. My first thought was the prices are crazy expensive for mexican food. The tamales where ok. not the best I have had but filled with alot of meat, not spicy at all. The fajitas were normal size serving. The beer and drinks are also on the high end. 5 $ for a bud light bottle. I gave this place 3 stars do to the price and normal plain Jane dishes. But on the bright side. The service was top notch and very attentive. They also have the best in house made flour tortillas. I will only be going back if I ever have a tortilla craving. So far best mexican food/drink in summerlin is casa don Juan. Flavorful food and decent prices. And good drink prices as well. Service is good to.

I’ve come here before, but it’s been a while. I used to like the tamales here but tonight was not impressive. Took a while for anyone to come to get our drink order once we sat down, after we got our food, we had no one refill our drink cups or chips which they usually refill, and we had to ask for the check after a while of being done with our food. The food was not that good, it was mushy and the tamales used to have more sauce… It was over priced too.

I’ve driven by the place multiple times and am glad I finally got to check it out. The menu is typical of what you can expect at most Mexican restaurants. The service was good and the food was just all right. I’d definitely go back and try it again.

I brought my mom here because she craves posole a lot and this was the closest place to her house LOL. It was a quick lunch and were only there for about an hour before we had to go. We both got posole… it was good, but it was what you made it, you know? It could be basic posole or an amazing kick in the mouth depending on how much lime(lemon in this case), chile, and onion you put in it. Mine was #bomb, Guys. I’m good that way. Anyway, I have no complaints except for the fact that they forgot to bring our drinks out at one point so we gave up on those. The horchata was also good but I didn’t understand how a glass of Sprite cost more than the horchata, which some consider a unique drink. Beats me. Anyway, good enough to return if I had no other choice but not good enough that it would be my FIRST choice.

But really a 3.5. Chicken tamales all day I’m telling you… Chicken tamales We tried the beef and pork but seemed overcooked Beef chimichanga… Just okay Meat again seemed chewey The tortilla maker on display was a nice touch The corn tortilla on the carne asada taco was obviously fresh and worked well with the other ingredients. Margaritas… Bomb We tried mango on the rocks and a strawberry banana blended both were delicious Service was terrific. Francisco was very friendly and knowledgeable Will be back at the cantina for more tamales and margaritas

Great Mexican Food! They have a Big Menu, including fresh made Tamales and Breakfast! The prices a little higher, but you get full service, and you get what you pay for. Portions are generous! I couldn’t finish my meal — and I’m a big guy. They always start you with Fresh ‘out of the oven’ Chips & Salsa — which is Awesome! I enjoyed the Chicken Burrito served enchilada style, with green sauce. My bride had the Chile Relleno dish with a Taco. Both were Really Good! The only negative was the Taco. We were expecting a ‘East-Side’ street style Taco, but got a pre-formed shell stuffed with the goods. Would have been 5 stars, but the taco dropped them to 4 star. I have been here a couple times, always for(work) lunch, and this time was just as good as my other visits. I will been coming back again, and I would recommend it to my friends. There’s lots of seating and Full Bar. Margaritas… Just skip the tacos — go for the more exotic items, you’ll be happy.

I love love love this place. Excellent authentic Mexican food made to order. Fresh lime juice margaritas and fast service even though it’s a sit down place. I have never had a bad experience here, and the food is just always excellent. The ambiance is very casual but festive here, staff is usually friendly and attentive. My favorite dish here besides their famous tamales is their chicken enchiladas dinner. It’s like 13 bucks and includes a soup or salad plus a huge portion with rice and beans. Their sauces are all homemade. Also if you like nachos or carne asada fries their special cheese is freaking awesome. Best homemade nacho cheese I’ve ever had. The portion is super huge as well so great for starters or a meal for one hungry person. Margaritas as I mentioned are really good and I believe are like 12⁄13 bucks or the big one. So worth it. You’ll feel great after one of them! So if you love Mexican food hit this place up!

First off the service was excellent. They were very welcoming at the door and the servers were quick and friendly. They were great with refilling my wife’s WATER(but they did not offer to refill my ½ full soda). The soda costs $ 3.10; seems a little ridiculous not to even be asked for a refill on such an expensive soda. I agree with most reviews about the chips and salsa-not good at all; tasted store bought. We both ordered their famous tamales with beans/rice sides. Pork tamales lacked flavor and spice. The chicken was ok, but nothing to write home about-again could have had more flavor. The cheese tamal was unfortunate: although it was the most flavorful, I have no idea what kind of cheese was in it. The cheese was a solid block and very difficult to cut with fork. As it was in the tamal, the cheese is sitting like a rock in my stomach. Bland beans and rice. Overall, service was good. Food was … Eh… Price was too expensive, especially for lunch and especially given food quality. I was wavering an would almost give 2 stars, but the $ 3.10 soda was outrageous. So 1 star it is. Would not recommend. Would not go again.
