Emerald at Queensridge

Still horrible, since it won’t let me post my previous one, I decided to update it. Look in the reviews they won’t allow to be posted and you’ll get a feel for this place. The owner is a bi. tch

Over a year later and I am finally giving my review. Pretty much, if you read all the good reviews on here, I concur with the rest of them. Staff before and during wedding day were wonderful from the very beginning. Ken, the owner, was a bit goofy and sometimes said inappropriate things, but he even admitted that the brides sometimes didn’t like him. I can see why. He’s a little rough around the edges, but good thing they have people like Cicely and Mimi to make planning and day of just perfect.
As said, Cicely was amazing. When I didn’t have any ideas for part of the planning, she had great ones. She always responded to my emails promptly which is very professional and needed to please an over-​thinking bride like I was. The first time I went there to start planning, I actually dealt with another girl who ended up quitting the week after, but Cicely was able to stay on top of things after that.
Mimi, the day of coordinator, was also very on top of everything and always calm. I dealt with her for rehearsal and during the wedding. She made sure everything went how I wanted it to. She is amazing at what she does as I can imagine her role is a stressful one, especially with bridezillas.
The food was great. Our guests loved it and especially loved the family style dinner service. Bartenders were on their game and knew how to serve a big party.
The only setbacks were with the DJ and during the ceremony. The DJ didn’t have the songs I chose and wrote down. Good thing I had a copy with me. He didn’t play a lot of my favorite artists during the dancing part of the evening, but he was a pretty good emcee. During the ceremony, the speakers were either broken or something because our guests said they couldn’t hear anything. That really bummed me out. I would really give 4.5 stars if I could, but I’m being nice and the day really went well minus the minor setbacks.
Couples considering Emerald for their wedding will not be disappointed.

Just got married here on Oct 24, 2015. We did a destination wedding here from DC. Cicely was amazing and helped out so much with coordination everything from DJ, preacher, flowers, decorations, and paired us up with the most amazing wedding coordinator Pam!!!
Pam was amazing!!! Helped in every way possible to make sure we enjoyed our night to the fullest before and after.
The entire staff made our wedding perfect. Words can’t describe enough how amazing everything was. Thank you all so much for everything.

Oh man, get ready for some gushing. It’s been said (at least in the hotel industry) that a happy bride will rate everything five stars, and if anything goes wrong, it drops to zero. Emerald made this girl a happy bride.
My now-​husband and I flew to Vegas to venue shop a few months after we got engaged. This was the third and last we visited. From the moment we stepped foot in the office (filled with lovely wedding things – fake cakes, photos, random decorations,) we felt welcomed. The guy sitting at the desk, amused by my spreadsheet of notes comparing our venues, happily completed my checklist with his own silly commentary. Soon we met Leon, who provided a private tour of the facility, detailing the event from where the guests come in to where the bride and groom get ready, to where everyone could show off their dance moves.
Then-​fiancé was infatuated with the idea of the groom’s room from the get-​go, and the bride’s suite was roomy and glamorous. We signed the contract on the spot, taking home a complimentary surplus cheesecake, I believe from the venue’s own bakery. This doesn’t usually come with the package, but it was pretty awesome.
Later on, we set up Skype visits with Cicely, our wedding planner. She is hilarious, responsive and full of great ideas. Unfortunately we never met her in person, but if you’re local, you will. She took care of every detail leading up to the big day.
Rehearsal day, we met Pam, who quickly became our favorite person. She led us through the rehearsal, which only took about 30 minutes. The next day when my family and I parked at the door, she greeted us and immediately brought out a cart to bring in the decorations. She personally took them out to get set up, helping wherever she could and running back and forth between setup, the groom’s room and the bride’s suite, making sure everyone was comfortable and on track. At one point, she busted out an iron and pressed one of the groomsmen’s jackets on her own accord. Amazing! The groom and I gave her changes the day-​of and she took them running, putting together a last-​minute corsage, assisting with decoration set-​up, rearranging the order of events, you name it. All we had to do was ask anyone at the venue for Pam and she appeared to save the day, usually before we even realized we needed something!
The rest of the staff at EAQ were wonderful. The servers and bartender were all professional and polite. Some reviews said they were too quick to take away dinner plates, but I didn’t hear any complaints from guests. The man running the photo booth made sure to check with me on the shade of green for the printouts; the DJ stopped by to review the music selections and let me and the groom know about one song he couldn’t find; the officiant, Reverend Peter, stopped by the bride’s suite to review the ceremony. I gave Pam a small change in wording during the ceremony and he was already aware – nice! The DJ stopped by to visit us several times during the ceremony to make sure we were happy with the music, which I appreciated. The only disappointment is that we asked that he didn’t take any requests, but that was somehow missed and he ended up playing some lame song that kind of slowed the excitement down for a while. :(
DID I MENTION ALICIA? Our photographer, Alicia from Cashman Brothers, was amaaazing! She is the consummate photographer, making sure every shot was perfect and moving us along so that we got as many photos as possible. We did end up taking a LOT of time out of the reception for photos, but I know she did an amazing job. She was like a ninja – I swear, I popped in the photo booth once all night and suddenly she appeared to take more pictures! She also made a great effort to make sure everyone was comfortable and had water to drink on the hot day – a really nice touch.
The whole event passed by in a flash, but I can say we survived with only a few small glitches (like not getting in the photo booth together or eating our wedding cake – doh!) EAQ definitely helped us throw the wedding of our dreams, and made it super easy for us and our guests to enjoy. Thank you EAQ!!!

This venue and staff really knocked it out of the park! I got married on March 29, 2015 and cannot commend Emerald at Queensridge enough. Pam, our day-​of coordinator was absolutely phenomenal. She did not miss a beat, communicated efficiently with all of our outside vendors, and made the whole evening go without a hitch. She was there whenever she was needed and acted quickly. Cicely and Bree helped us plan all of the details from start to finish and helped us attain all of our wishes within our budget. They were always a phone call away and offered some very valuable suggestions to help make our tables in the reception pop! They even let us attend 2 different tastings and had the chef specially make something we wanted to try from the menu so we could more accurately pick the food for our wedding day. The DJ, bartender, and wait staff were all excellent. Food was absolutely amazing. Their cake vendor suggestion was perfect. Set-​up and breakdown was made so easy and all guests were treated with the highest hospitality. To top it off, their bridal suite for getting ready, ceremony and reception spaces are to die for. They truly made my dream come true on my wedding day and I cannot thank them enough.

My cousin got married here a few months ago. We flew all the way from Northern California and expected an amazing wedding judging by the pictures of the venue and reading about them. The venue was pretty no doubt. The organization seemed very poor. Here are my summarized thoughts about this venue:
Positives: beautiful place, great lighting, open airy, nice draperies, spacious, and clean overall
Negatives: Poor DJ with zero talent, rude and anxious waiters and servers, very little and terrible food.
Overall, if all you care for are looks and poor service then this venue may work for you. Otherwise, I am sure there are much better choices for the amount of money spent that may give you best of both worlds

My brother had a wedding here and got to say the food was great! The venue looked pretty with all the lighting. It is a good package deal for 100 guests. but if you go over… that is where they get you with the price. But over all its a good experience –many of the guests thought it was the wedding of the year.

Was a bridesmaid in a wedding here last October 20^th (yes, on a Monday). 100 guests, food and DJ included. Venue was very organized, the bridal prep room was gorgeous, the lady who seemed to run the place was very thorough and professional. The rehearsal was pretty much a «dress rehearsal» just before the actual ceremony, considering we just met each other the day before (groomsmen and bridesmaids, et al). When the ceremony did begin, it was just as the sun was going down and the trees were lit up – so beautiful. The reception was held indoors, with the typical table setup for bride/​groom and best men/​maids of honor, and the guests. Draping and lighting was impressive, had a classy feel. We made our grand entrance from the second floor down a main staircase leading to the dancefloor. The bar (cash for mixed drinks, no shots, wine and beer included) and buffet was setup to the left of the stairs. Food was good, cake too. They had a projector and screen setup to view Eversnap photos as a slideshow. The DJ was entertaining, introducing everyone, playing along with the «Shoe Game,» and reading words of advice the guests wrote for the bride and groom following the toasts. Cleanup went smoothly and overall it was a really nice place. Probably the 20^th wedding I’ve been to ever, it was pretty fancy schmancy for being in Las Vegas.

My daughter got married two weeks ago, and we began looking at venues back in December. From the moment we walked into Emerald at Queensridge we knew this would be the place!
We liked being able to have the ceremony and reception all in one place. Very convenient. The ceremony area (outside) and the reception room were both beautiful.
My daughter got a good «package deal» for 100 guests. It included the food and DJ. It also included wine and beer… and we had a cash bar for other alcoholic beverages.
The thing to watch out for is all the extra charges! Ivory linens on the tables were included in the price, but if my daughter wanted to add red napkins it would have cost her $ 2.00 per napkin… for a total of $ 200.00. Yikes! She paid an extra $ 400.00 for red uplighting! A nice buffet was included, but I looked into adding a few extra menu items. My jaw dropped when I saw the outrageous prices! To add a pasta bar would have been an additional $ 15.00 per person! Tomato bisque was an extra $ 8.00 per person! All these charges add up!
We were not allowed to bring in our own photobooth. We had to use their’s…which was $ 700.00.
If we used their bakery (which we did) they would not charge cake cutting fee… but if we bought our cake from a different bakery Emerald would have charged a cake cutting fee. Ridiculous. Luckily, we loved their bakery which was «Rolling in Dough»… not far from the venue.
They offered a few different types of centerpieces for free, but some cost money to use. We used their free vases and made our own centerpieces.
Our guests loved the room, enjoyed the food, and had a lot of fun with the DJ.
Several guests complained that they couldn’t hear the minister very well. We don’t know if that was caused by a sound-​system problem, or if it was just the minister himself. He performed a nice ceremony, but was a little «dry» and monotone. He reminded me of Jerry Stiller.
Our coordinator MiMi was wonderful. She was right on the ball, friendly, and patient with us.
The wait-​staff were a little too quick to remove food and drinks off the tables. While I understand that we were on a time limit and had other things to do (cake cutting, bouqet toss, etc…), they should have asked the guests, «Are you done with your plate?» (or drink) before snatching it away. Especially the drinks that the guests had paid for!
The bridal suite was lovely, but we were not allowed to use it until 3 hours before the wedding… which did not give us gals enough time to have our hair and makeup done. We wound up getting a room down the street at the Suncoast so that we could have extra time to get ready. The photographer wanted us «photo ready» by 4pm! Also… we were not allowed to bring our own food into the bridal suite. Emerald offers several food trays that you can order, but they are way overpriced.
All in all we were very happy with Emerald… as were our guests. I would definitly recommend them, but you’ve got to watch out for all of the extra charges or you will go bankrupt!

I just had my wedding here a week ago. Loved the venue and staff. Ken is one of the owners sons and was super nice and took care of everything I asked for. Jessica was the best she helped me with every detail. My coordinator for my wedding day was Mimi and she was good, but towards the last few hours of the wedding she was no where to be found and when I asked gabby (my assistant for the day) where she was she was in the restroom which was hard to believe for more than an hour but whatever. My only complaint was the Dj. SUCKED!!! Horrible he didn’t play my songs I had given him a must play list a week before, he didn’t stick to the Spanish songs I asked him for, and he played my do not play list. So other than that I would highly recommend Eaq for a venue in Vegas :)

Mimi– coordinator, shane– bartender, anthony– Dj, cicely-​point of contact, gabby-​brides assistant! This was the team I was introduced to when arriving for my big day. They all were over the top nice!!! The organization was on point, down to the minute.
You need this venue!
We had a 100 person wedding and planned from back East. Communication was great threw email, Skype, and phone.
They have preferred vendors that make it easy to plan far away.
Our guests liked the buffet food and bride and groom were served. Also cater to gluten allergies.
Our photographer (included in package) was great! You’ll be fine not meet in him in advice. I just sent him 6 or 7 photos that I liked and a list of people I needed pics with and it went really smooth. I thought time would be a factor to get all the pics in but we didn’t even have to do first look to fit it all in.
Dj was great. You do have to provide a lot of songs you want to play at points in your day. (Ceremony, entrance, dance, last song, dinner music) I found this a little challenging when planning but he put it all together soooo well.
Security has been mentioned in past reviews… they provide one key the women’s room and one to the grooms room. This was given to my mom. She was the gate keeper and didn’t let anyone in unless needed. We had no problems.
Tips: have a point person for your keys or you’ll lose track.
Have a couple high top tables around the dance floor bc no glasses allowed on the dance floor.
You WILL spend over the 10,500 package if you want traditional wedding. Things will realllly add up when adding the little details.
Yes, You need the photo booth!
Pay the extra money to get into bridal sweet early bc the pics are great when getting ready.
Bel Tran was the best price for buses.
Yes you need sparklers!
Maybe try to provide your own decorations to save on décor cost.

My best friend just got married here this past weekend and it was perfect. Best wedding ever. The venue was extremely organized down to the minute. Mimi was fantastic. After working with brides myself for three years, I really have to say, this woman is wonderful in an extremely high stress job. Very friendly, personable, and helpful. Great venue, wonderful bridal suite (I laughed when I saw the groom’s suite). My best friend is super happy and her day was perfect; so thank you Emerald at Queensridge.

Had my wedding here three weeks ago and it was very well put together at least from what I can remember. Never had any issues with Mimi which I see a bunch of people are saying they had, but yes she is a little pushy at times but she has to be, it’s her job to be because she has to keep you focused on what needs to get done. 4 hours is a short period of time to get everything done you want and she’s just there to keep you semi on time. My wife said her personal assistant was amazing and got her everything she needed. The staff from my interactions were great, although I guess there had been a problem at the bar with one of our guests trying to order a scotch neat and being told they couldn’t, which I don’t exactly agree with. I understand you can’t serve shots but it was a middle aged man asking for a «top shelf» scotch neat… he had no plans of taking it as a shot he just wanted to enjoy it, but no big deal.
Probably the one and only issue I had was the DJ. Wasn’t very professional and didn’t live up to the description they have on their website. It’s not so much of a DJ experience than just a playlist of songs that is set up and they hit play.
Food was good, beer was cold, room was kept at a good temperature considering it was 105 outside during the day.
And if I can give you a small tip, make sure to follow up with them on the small details that can sometimes get missed. We were told that we would receive a USB stick with the photobooth pictures on them but we never received it so we called and they are sending it to us. No big deal just make sure to follow up.

My friends sister was going to have her wedding there. 100 people. The venue was Fully paid! Wedding was canceled and only me my fiancée four friends and 3members of the brides family that paid for it came (ppl were flying in &since the wedding got canceled made to sense for them to come). Needless to say the event was already a sad one.
What made it worse was the staff!!! The family paid thousands of dollars for open bar and food (self serve style for 100+ people.)
#1) they told us we could’t take anything extra* home even though they didn’t even make one tenth of the food that was paid for.
#2) when we pulled out some topple ware to take some leftovers (FOOD THAT’S WAS ALREADY MADE AND PAID FOR AND ON OUR PLATES) the manager began SCREAMING irrational nonsense at the mom/​host of the event.
#3) when the son tried to defend his mom the lady not only refused to listen to reason but SCREAMED bloody murder with an awful screeching voice into the walky talky for «SECURITY» !
–within seconds we all went back to our two tables and resumed the meal. BUT THAT’S WASNT ENOUGH for these psycos.
4) an older gentleman of about 50 (one of the workers) waltzes over to our table which had NONE of the participants of the incident at it and ruins/​interrupts our meal by going on a rant about what HE THINKS and his opinion and how «rude» our party was for about 15 minutes and continues to interrupt guests. Until FINALLY one of the girls gets fed up with him and says «excuse me, did we ever ask you your opinion? «.
Have you ever been to a restaurant where u were enjoying a conversation with friends to have it interrupted by a waiter coming up to you to bitch about other tables? –well if u want the experience the emerald at queens ridge is your place!
Meanwhile the psyco lady walks over to the son/​brothers table and proceeds to YELL and lash out at him with «security» at her side and INCHES away from the sons face. The son beeing a marine gets up from his chair firmly said «get out of my face», at which point my finace diffused the situation by taking the son outside. Then they shut the lights off and the psychotic lady/​owner called the cops!!! Crazy bitch said SHE felt her life wad threatened. … when clearly we were the ones beeing attacked by the staff!
Obviously they were just trying to kick people out so they can go home early and fishing/​provoking for a reason to do so. Since the venue was paid for in full they didn’t care about the guests.
Working nursing I see a lot of casses of agressive irrational behavior during the manic phase of bipolar disorder… this lady takes the cake!
Instead of a heart felt apology and a refund the crazy lady calls the mom to treaten to sue her (for what she didn’t specify lol).
In short the host of this venue is truly not someone you’d want to entrust the happiest day of your life to! however, she’ll make it memorable allright. ;)
Also a mother with her daughter and fiancé came in to scope out the venue just in time to see this nonsense!:)

We had our wedding here last night, and I truly do not have a single complaint! I actually can’t put into words how wonderful everything was! They were meticulous with details, and made my day so easy! I truly felt like a princess. They paid so much attention to detail. Many guests said they felt like they were in a movie. I worked primarily with Cecily throughout the entire planning process. We live in CA and had never actually been to the venue until the week of! Cecily was so kind to me, even when I bombarded her with a million emails and phone calls. Mimi was our day of coordinator, and she is fantastic! She is truly a professional and knows what she is doing. I honestly can not think of a single thing that went wrong, and if it did I didn’t notice. The DJ, Larry, was great and the bartender. Everybody was fantastic, and we had a dream wedding! Thank you guys!

I took a tour of emerald and the staff was really polite but even tho the price seems catching you have yo upgrade for everything. I read previous post talking about how they had the staff taking pictures and having problems with them well I assume it must be true. Even tho is beautiful It seemed I would have lots of problems with them. If I choose this venue the staff member said they’ll be someone at the reception doing a head count and watching it. My concern was paying $ 45 for 2 yr Olds and she said if they see them walking I will be charge even if it’s cheaper is better getting another venue that offers 5 yrs and younger free and a discounted price for 6 yrs to 12.
This place starts charging full price at 5. Keep looking

The whole reason for the trip to LV I just went on was for a wedding at this venue. I accompanied my boyfriend, who looked fan-​freakin-​tastic in his suit, to watch his cousin get married to his beautiful bride. A shuttle picked us and another large group of family and friends from the Rush Tower and dropped us off at the front doors.
Outside, where the ceremony took place, the walkway with twinkling trees led to the alter with the guest seating on either side. The alter was a very contemporary gazebo with the pillars wrapped in fabric. It seemed like it could have been more whimsical and special for a venue dedicated to one of the biggest days of one’s life. The acoustics were also weak and I heard literally none of what they were saying. The patio area had a great view of the mountains that we all were in awe of after the ceremony.
Inside I felt like I was at the club. Not one of those high class clubs but the ones that have cage dancers and promoters handing out glow sticks. Flashing multi colored neon lights blinded me and the billowing ceilings lacked that wow factor. The food was very good and I was happy to see brisket was on the line up. While I don’t really understand the placement of the dance floor it was a nice space and gave all the guests a really great view of the first dance. The dj was great and played some killer tunes. Bonus: there was a silly photo booth with props that everyone really enjoyed.
Best part of the wedding was watching two people who truly love each other commit themselves in front of their family and friends. That was what made that day so beautiful.

It looks and feels just like the other area off-​Strip wedding /​reception sites. It’s all just average and boring to me. Ho hum outdoor area for the ceremony. Ho hum indoor area for the reception. If there were staff there, I never saw them. The food was totally subpar. There are definitely way better places to get married in Vegas that don’t involve a Strip chapel. But if you do have a wedding here, it won’t completely suck. But it’s an average and forgettable type of wedding venue.

On pi day 2013 I was here for a wedding, it was the only wedding booked for the day and almost every staff thought I was the groom. No way in hell, not yet! But I was curious and wanted this wedding to go without a hitch so I asked and probed on almost every detail I could think of before the wedding started. Why am I always loud? That didn’t stop me today!
The staff was nice and attentive, the coordinator was also on top of everything. The DJ was involved with the whole wedding as well, this was definitely not their first rodeo. The only issue I had was the bartender. This was an open bar wedding and he chose to play games rather than tend the bar. Drinks weren’t served until after the «I do» thingy part so there was a lot of standing around beforehand. Also waving the tip jar in front of my friends face wasn’t nice so I had to bring that up to him. Told him to pour drinks or I’ll grab DJ’s mic and tell people you’re trying ruin the wedding and for people not to tip you and in the end you’ll still have to serve alcohol, pour the drinks and watch the tip come in. The booze selection also sucked, but I was happy to always have a beer in one hand and a mixed drink in the other. The photographers were always taking pictures and were right in the action, Anya was the best picture taker thing.
The room was available to us at 3:30 on the day of the wedding. They took pictures of us getting ready inside as well.
The food was alright, it was your basic salad, rice, bread (no extra butter anywhere), veggies, meatloaf (?), and bbq meat thing in the end. I went for thirds. And I kept drinking, and I was one of few who took advantage of the open bar. Maybe people didn’t want to be around the stinky bartender, there was also no shots or drinks on the rocks. I had drinks on the rocks, but I also tipped him $ 20 in the beginning and took care of him again at the end cause he didn’t throw a bitch fest after that. He said something about eye in the sky so he couldn’t serve us certain drinks, there’s no cameras above you dummy.
For the amount of people we had, there was plenty seating outside and inside. The drapes up above looked like roman togas covering nice bosoms. I had the DJ mess with the lights to make things look pretty. The long staircase on the East side of the building was where the groom, bride, and slaves came down from after everyone moved from the outdoor seating to indoors. Someone once told me my shit was too long so I’ll end it here, nice venue and very professional. As far as radical and crazy venues to hold a wedding, this is traditional but comes at a complete package. I try not to be the center of attention but I do know how to have fun, and I was excited for my friends to finally get married! Congrats!

We were married here on February 17^th. Since this is my first (and hopefully only) marriage, I don’t have anything to compare to this experience. However, when it comes to service standards and food, I think I can give a helpful review.
The room, the ambiance, the upgrades are all luxurious and well worth the price. The room, with it’s beautiful high ceilings, LED lit, drape-​like light fixtures were gorgeous. The facility itself was immaculate. I was very impressed with both the bride and groom «ready rooms» complete with a flat screen TV and playstation 3! The bride’s room had a giant 3 sided mirror and plenty of space to do hair and make-​up.
The most impressive thing about this place (aside from my beautiful bride) was Andrew. He’s the DJ and so much more than that. Being the most stressful and nerve racking day of my life, he seemed to be able to approach me in a way that calmed and soothed. He was poignant, concise and straight to the point; qualities one needs when in this business.
The rest of the staff, however, seemed unsure of themselves… like this was the first time they’ve done something like this. One of them, Kelsey, told me in an unsure way, «you need to find your mom because we’re about to start.» To which I replied, «No. YOU need to find my mom.» Perhaps I was a little harsh.
The food was decent: not worse or better than any other wedding food. But I had some disappointments.
— «chicken» teriyaki: pretty sure it was whole deli style chicken sliced thick and not actual chicken breast… weird.
— smoked beef brisket: good flavor, but not as tender as I would like. Sort of felt like I was eating one if those newfangled boxed meals you can get at Von’s.
Glazed carrots and mashed potatoes: the mashers were the star; creamy and delicious. The carrots were undercooked and I didn’t notice any glaze.
The thing I was disappointed most about was that they gave us margarine instead of real butter for the bread. It’s the little things, people! That really cheapened the whole experience for me.
The cake was delicious. White cake with salted caramel buttercream. Friggin yum.
Great party! Great friends and family! Emerald did a nice job, and I think, with time, the things I found wanting will improve.
