Lakes Dermatology is Las Vegas’ premier dermatology practice. We are a full service medical and cosmetic practice, complete with a medical spa.

Dr. F. Victor Rueckl, M.D. is a Board-​Certified Dermatologist with nearly 30 years of experience who provides state-​of-​the-​art care to patients. We specialize in Mohs Skin Cancer technology and treating patients of all ages. Dr. Rueckl is well-​versed in current treatments, as well as emerging and innovative therapies.

Dr. Rueckl has carefully evaluated the cosmetic dermatology products and treatments available on the market and has brought the very best of them to his practice. His vast experience has earned him the great reputation of being known as an artistic doctor and the title of Top Injector in Las Vegas.

History

Established in 1999.

Upon completion of schooling, Dr. Rueckl moved back to his hometown in Reno, Nevada and opened a private practice for dermatology and Mohs cancer surgery. Dr. Rueckl kept his private practice in Reno until 1996. Soon after, he moved to Bakersfield, California to work for Kaiser Permanente and run their dermatology department. After a few years, Dr. Rueckl decided he wanted to re-​enter private practice and moved to Las Vegas to open Lakes Dermatology. He subsequently added to that practice by starting The Spa at Lakes Dermatology in May 2005.

Dr. Rueckl is board-​certified by the American Board of Dermatology and the American Society for Mohs Surgery. He is also a fellow in the American Association of Cosmetic Dermatology. He has been licensed in Nevada since 1981. Dr. Rueckl obtains numerous certifications and attends trainings each year to stay abreast of changes and innovations in the cosmetic dermatology field.

A native Nevadan, Dr. F. Victor Rueckl, M.D. is a board-​certified dermatologist and skin cancer surgeon. After obtaining a Bachelor of Sciences degree from the University of Southern California, Dr. Rueckl attended medical school first at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Reno, and finished his degree at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. After obtaining his degree, Dr. Rueckl moved to Santa Barbara, California, where he did an internship in internal medicine. The following year, Dr. Rueckl decided he wanted a more specialized field and applied to Brown University School of Medicine in Providence, Rhode Island. He was accepted into his first choice — dermatology — and obtained his specialized degree in 1982. Immediately following graduation, Dr. Rueckl moved to Southern California to complete a fellowship in Mohs surgery at UC Irvine School of Medicine.

Love this spa so much! I have only gotten photo facials so far but I look forward to trying other treatments. My skin tone and texture had improved immensely with the IPL photofacials. Dr. Ruegal is personal, friendly and knowledgable. His staff is amazing! I love all the ladies in the spa. Angie and Cindy are amazing I always look forward to my appointments with them, I leave relaxed every time. Please check this spa out!

Very rarely do I feel the immediate rapport for a professional as I did with Dr. Rueckl. He diagnosed a rash immediately and began treatment. What a relief to get reliable information and the feeling of real care. And the staff is also top notch in every respect. I highly recommend this facility for any skin related issues.

Lakes Dermatology is a one-​stop answer to your skin needs. Dr. Victor Rueckl is a master of cosmetic injections. .He and his competent staff are up to date on cutting edge products and treatments. The Lumecca Laser at the Spa at Lakes Dermatology has helped me tackle my rosacea and age related discolorations. Jenn, my technician of choice, does a great job.
I’ve sent a variety of patients to Dr. Rueckl and all have been over the moon happy!

Dr. Rueckl is a very knowledgeable and experienced dermatologist. He never suggested any treatments that I don’t need. I purchased a package of 5 IPL treatments. After all 5 sessions, he gave me 2 more for FREE! just because he thinks that would be good for my skin. He also helped me to fade the scars on my neck that were caused by another doctor. I asked him if I needed chemical peel (I was willing to pay for the treatments) but Dr. Rueckl said no, all I need is moisturizer and sunscreen. He was right! Now, I always get compliments on my skin. Dr. Rueckl is not the ‘suck your money’ kind of doctor. He really cares about his patients.
I also love Jennifer, the technician at the spa. Jen knows her machines so well that I never get burn or discomfort. I always get good results.

I had my Laser Hair Removal done for the first time with Kristen at THE SPA! OMG what a wonderful pain free experience. The staff was so nice and welcoming. Everybody and everything was so welcoming. Loved the brand new technology at this place. Kristen is an amazing Laser Technician and a wonderful wonderful person. She took such great care of me and my needs and got rid off all my concerns. Totally recommend The Spa and Kristen !!!

Regret seeing this doctor. I came in to have aging brown spots removed on my upper check. Not even very dark. Now, I have had this done once before at another office that used a laser and the spots went away… vanished in one week. This doctor swore that nitrogen applied with just a q-​tip would be as affective, cheaper and here I sit almost eight weeks later with worse brown spots and have to go back to my first dermatologist to have this corrected. Guess you get what you pay for. I will not go back hear or refer anyone to this office. Don’t trust him.

I really wanted to like this place and was hoping to get educated a little more on my acne. The doctor rushed me through and told me he wanted to go to lunch. I asked if he could remove some moles and he did so, but wasn’t very nice about it and didn’t remove everything I had asked him to. It’s been two months, my acne is not any more clear, even with the changes in my skincare routine and medications. Some of the moles weren’t removed entirely either. I wont be returning and it’s kind of a bummer as I was curious about his other procedures.

Really disappointed in this place. Came in last December or so to get information on a certain procedure. Front desk was pretty rude. Didn’t really greet me. Told them I had an appointment handed me paperwork and continued talking to eachother about someones kid. Hardly felt acknowledged at all. Well, turned in my paperwork and ended up waiting so long after my appointment time i was just about to get up and just leave when they finally called me back. Doctor came in and immediately started suggesting something completely irrelevant (which i don’t mind honesty) to what I came in for, but was really rude about it. Even cursing while he spoke which was really distasteful. It was a free consultation so I understand him not wanting to sit and talk to me for a long time, but hardly answered my questions as to what I wanted information for and stormed out of the room. Didnt say good bye, thanks for coming in, nice to meet you nothing. Ended his last sentence as to what I should do and just walked out. I literally thought ok? and then another girl came in talking about what I had already said I wasnt interested in. Left the place wanting to cry. Not only were my feelings hurts, but I was left more confused than when I came in. Was really hopeful for this place, but unfortunately didn’t work out at all. I probably was treated so bad because it was a FREE consultation. So maybe pay for a consultation and youll be treated better? Maybe everyone was just having a really bad day. Actually the girl I spoke with after the doctor left was really nice, i have to give her credit for being kind and patient with me.

Hi, I went to Dr. F. Victor Rueckl for the first time today at Lakes Dermatology and everything went great. After seeing my regular doctor, he suggested I see a dermatologists to have some skin and moles looked at that looked a little suspect. With all of his experience, I totally trusted Dr. Rueckl’s judgement and his suggestions. I was in and out in only 15 minutes and to my surprise, he was able to work on a lot of my little imperfections (age spots) on my face and hands that are just starting to be noticeable (just turned 48). I have a follow up in a month. He also does a lot of other cosmetic stuff but I’m ok with this for now. The staff was very friendly and efficient and not only will I be back, I have teenage girls who will likely be seeing him in the future as well. 10 STARS!

Unfortunately BaD experience. Approx. $ 2000 cash spent & results immediately Not symmetrical as per his physician technique. My appointment was about 30mins of physician time. I was in a ton of pain following (my threshold high) & Although the doctor was quite polite & casual he stated he would not be able to make a correction for six months to one year. Completely brushed me off ;however, I TRUSTED upon my return he would correct @ no cost.
Upon my return he stated there would be an additional $ 2000 charge! The equivalent price of doing the procedure from scratch.
Also, @ each visit he tried to up sell me on a ton of fillers etc., Quite insulting. He left me with 3 large SCARS that people have asked me about. :(I was mortified through the process & photographed/​logged the damage. I have realistic expectations & need to seek legal counsel for reimbursement.
The office called me & even asked me to Exchange a $ 100.00 bill for a different one! I’d Never had such a bizarre request made. The office was Completely unprofessional after my money collected & I was treated terribly by the staff. Assistant carting crying baby around office while working? Choose another office. Totally unethical.

I was referred to Dr. Rueckl by another dermatologist for removal of a small skin lesion using Mohs surgery. Dr. Rueckl is one of just a couple of experts who do this type of surgery here in Vegas.
I was very appreciative of his wonderful bedside manner, and found him completely honest: since the lesion was on my leg, he advised against having it and suggested I have it removed in the traditional manner. He said if it were he, he wouldn’t do it! But after thoroughly explaining the pros and cons, he ultimately left it up to me. I decided to go with it, for reasons irrelevant to this review. He said the procedure would be practically painless, and it was.
At both the initial consultation and at surgery (in-​office), I didn’t have to wait very long before I was seen. Dr. Rueckl has an easy-​going personality, not standoffish at all, and at no time did I feel like I was being rushed. I highly recommend him!

I put a reviewed how bad was their service to my frown lines injection that was done few months ago. The injection was not placed at the right spot, and then I called them about my concern, and the Doctor said it was fine, like nothing went wrong. I put a review then, and now the bad review was gone. Amazing how they took my review away. Now it, s show what they can do. Bad service, unprofessional. Wow…it, s all about what they can get from you !

I moved to Vegas over three years ago and was looking for a new skin care clinic. I can’t stress enough how happy I am I chose to go with Lakes Dermatology. I was diagnosed with rosacea and was looking into treatment options. The technicians at the Lakes Dermatology Spa are amazing. I have sensitive skin which reacts very unpredictably to topical treatments and lasers, and they knew exactly how to treat it. It’s the only spa I’ve come by that knows how to find that elusive combination of gentle and effective. I’m happy with the results I got from my spider vein and redness treatments. They knew my skin better than I did, and also provided recommendations on the right products to use, which finally put an end to my search for a perfect moisturizer. This is the ONLY place I can fully trust when it comes to my skin.
Doctor Rueckl is very professional and knowledgeable. He recommended the right treatment for my condition, explained why my skin acted the way it did, and honestly informed me of my options. He also provided at least 6 sessions of laser ABSOLUTELY FREE OF CHARGE when he realized my skin was very stubborn and needed more treatment. That is superb care, and I’m very grateful for it. Not to mention, the consultations are always free, and I received all the answers I needed and got a bunch of product samples without spending a single penny. Needless to say, I’m sticking with this clinic, as I couldn’t have asked for better treatment.
If you want to get excellent care coupled with professionalism and generosity, this is definitely the place to go.

The first time I saw Dr Rueckl I was in late middle school/​early high school. My acne was so bad I cannot even begin to explain. He took such good care of me and knew the right products for me to use. To this day, I still use the same facial wash he recommended. Whenever I have skin issues I still go to see Dr Rueckl, even though my insurance has changed and is not covered with him. I pay the out of pocket fee because I trust him. My younger brother see’s him as well now.

I was honestly shocked by how rude this doctor is! He made me feel like my questions were stupid & gave condescending answers. When I asked him what was in this chemical filled pharmaceutical cream he wanted me to put on my face, he replied ‘Do you care?’ and refusedl to tell me. Uhh yes, I do care! It’s my skin! He took no time to get to know the history or my concerns about my skin. He also chose to overlook a ridge that I asked him to fix from Juvederm. It would have been very simple for him to use the enzyme, but out of what I felt like was sheer laziness he just left it, saying it ‘wouldn’t be that noticeable’ after he put the filler in. Next, he recommended I have 25 units of Botox at $ 270, and at 21 years old I really began to question his professionalism. Maybe he was having a bad day or something, but I will definitely not be back to this doctor. His energy & attitude was enough to drive me to write this review which I rarely, if ever do! People deserve to know the truth especially when it comes to something as personal and intimate as their face. Choose your doctor wisely, shop around!

I am SOLD! Great Experience, the Doctor and staff are amazing. I had Botox, fillers, photo-​facials and Refirme and I’m definitely going back. I’ve seen a lot of Dotors and I’ve been to lots of spa’s and I have to say this is a rare keeper.
I felt completely pampered in the spa and in competent hands with Dr. Rueckl. With the injections he was fast and precise without even a hint of pain.
Try them and you will see what I mean. THUMBS WAY UP!
