I am so very happy with my decision to use them for my wedding photos! My fiancé and I decided to elope in Vegas. Our budget was tight, but, we still wanted to get dressed up after our ceremony and take professional pictures. After seeing cheesy «Vegas» photography, we came across the Mindy Bean Photography page. We were instantly amazed and in love with their capabilities and only wanted them to do our photos. It was last minute, and they still agreed to do our photos even though they had an engagement that kept them out late the following night. We were on a tight schedule and they were willing to accommodate. Doug was SO very professional. He was full of ideas and even able to work by taking photos of our rings, shoes, etc. while we finished getting ready. By the way, it was 5 o’clock in the morning! He made taking pictures fun! My fiancé, now husband typically takes a moment to loosen up, but Doug had him genuinely laughing and having fun. It was just the best experience ever and it was really what we needed and everything that we wanted for our special day. We are so very blessed and fortunate to have found them and we will hire Doug again for our anniversary. You will not be disappointed at all with choosing them. Also, ordering their prints is an easy task and they are beyond reasonable with pricing for them. They are kind, considerate, professional, and caring. They are simply the absolute best!

We just got married over the weekend and while we have not seen our photos yet. This review is based upon Mindy’s excellent people skills. We spent a significant amount of time with Mindy during our wedding week and she and her assistant were wonderful. They went above and beyond for us. My husband and I met with Mindy and Doug, and it was fun from the start, we clicked with them and knew they were right for us! They were attentive to our needs and Mindy was easy to get along with and was a total crisis manager from time to time!
We can’t thank you enough for your positive energy at our wedding!

It’s been almost 2 years since I first came across Mindy’s website during a late night, wedding research binge and inquired with her about photographing our wedding. The fact that I emailed her at 2:00am Hawaii time and got a response in less than 6 – 7 hours, I was impressed and just had a good feeling that this is who we would work with to capture our special day. We exchanged a few emails and set up a Skype date where we were able to chat with Mindy & Doug about our vision, their expertise and how we could capture the special day– after over an hour of video chatting we made the decision that we would go ahead and have Mindy & Doug photograph our engagement session & wedding day!
Where do I even begin? Let’s start off by saying that I personally do not care much for taking photographs AT ALL– but working with Mindy & Doug made me feel relaxed enough to step out of my comfort zone and trust the process. We had a great and fun time during our engagement session, which ended up going a little longer than expected but we survived the Mindy Bean Bootcamp where you learn about all the ways to pose and expressions to make in order to catch the best shots! :) Being that the engagement session went so smooth, I knew that the wedding day would be a walk through the park, or in my case the golf course, and it was one thing that I didn’t have to worry about on the big day. Mindy started the day off by photographing the girls as we got ready & Doug captured great shots of the boys looking all dapper. After that, we did our first look-​which I initially was undecided on but after talking to Mindy I figured that it would be a good idea to do the first look and wedding party pictures so we have time to do our romantic pictures during cocktail hour– and I am glad she convinced me to do it that way because everything just flowed so well!
I am so glad I went with my gut instinct to contact Mindy & even more ecstatic that my husband convinced me to invest in our wedding pictures and go with the package so that we could have both Mindy & Doug photograph our special day. They were able to capture great moments of our ceremony, reception and priceless memories of our family & friends that made the trek out from Hawaii and the East Coast to be a part of our wedding day! :) Mahalo nui loa to both of you for your talent, professionalism, time, thoughtfulness and friendship! We love you guys!

Excellent shoot today with miss mindy! She made my fiancé, dog and I very comfortable and it felt like a friend or family member was photographing us. And for the record. spoke with Doug several times prior to today’s shoot with mindy, and never did he come off as rude. Doug is very organized and efficient at what he does. very respectful human and businessman. Thanks for all the help Doug!

Mindy and her husband Doug were incredible! They were warm, welcoming and passionate about photography. We were lucky to have both of them on our special day and they worked hard together (even with a little banter) to make sure they got the best shots for us. The photos we received are perfect, we could not be happier. We cannot recommend Mindy Bean enough for your special day.

Where should I start. From my initial email to Mindy/​Doug I can’t say enough about how great Doug was to work with. I was planning my wedding across the country on one of the busiest days 12−13−14 and I am beyond thrilled that we were able to have Doug as our photographer. From the beginning he was quick to answer all of my questions via email and calmed my nerves when I was feeling like an overwhelmed bride. He arrived on time at our hotel and from the moment he walked in the door I knew we had made the best decision on who to trust with our wedding pictures. Our pictures are amazing from night pictures on the strip to the fun dancing pictures after our wedding. Every wedding guest said how wonderful Doug was so much fun, relaxed, down to earth. He fit right in with our fun, crazy family and guest.

We had a great experience with Doug as our photographer. The photos look great and now we can always look back and be reminded of the wonderful time we had in Vegas getting married.

After seeing some of these bizarre one-​star reviews, I need to chime in. I don’t know where those people are getting «rude» from. Doug was super cool, down to earth, and really responsive, and so was Mindy. If you aren’t down to earth (which I’m betting money these people aren’t), then go find some uptight, snooty photographer for a whole lot more money who’ll suck up to you. However, if you want a competent photographer who will make you feel relaxed and jive with what you’re wanting, then go with Mindy or Doug. And believe me, it wasn’t that I wasn’t picky and just let him do whatever; I had a long list of ideas and things I didn’t want, and Doug was totally understanding and made sure to get all the shots I wanted.
My wedding was on a tight budget, but I still wanted great photographs. Doug was, by far, the best option that I could find in town. Sure, you’ll find people who might be a little cheaper, but for the quality you get with them you might as well have your uncle take pictures with his personal camera. I love Mindy’s style and found out that Mindy trained Doug and edits his photographs. So, if you’re on a budget and can’t afford Mindy, for a really *spectacular* price you get the beautiful look of Mindy’s photographs mixed with Doug’s truly magical portrait work. He has a way of capturing someone’s honest look — just a simple, beautiful picture that captures them in that moment without being contrived, if that makes sense at all. Not only did he capture the individual portraits of me and my husband that I was wanting, but the photos he took of my friends and family while they were seated during the reception were so great that at least 5 of them changed their Facebook profile picture to the picture he took of them.
During the pictures before the ceremony, he made sure everyone was where they needed to be, was constantly reassuring me, and even carried my lipstick for touch ups. I opted to also get a second shooter, Saundra, who was amazing as well. She made sure to take as many pictures as Doug so I got some great shots from two different angles. Overall I couldn’t have been happier with the shots and service I got and would definitely recommend Doug, Mindy, and their associates for any type of occasion (wedding, engagement, baby, etc.). In fact, when we plan on starting a family soon I am going to ask them to take our pregnancy shots and future family shots.

Doug is an amazing photographer he was attentive to every detail. My husband and I hate pictures and he made us feel very comfortable. Look no further! !! He is very professional, and creative.

My wife and I can’t say enough about how happy we are with the engagement and wedding photos Mindy took for us! She is a consummate professional as well as being super clutch in a pinch. (i.e. Tying a bowtie on the fly) Mindy is our photographer for life!

Wow! We really can’t put into words how amazing Mindy & Doug’s work is! We booked Mindy for our engagement photos and our wedding. Both shoots were incredible and the pictures came out stunning. The utmost professionalism and attention to detail truly shine through in the finished product. They were extremely accommodating to our schedule, showing up well beforehand to ensure they captured every moment of the day, and even staying late to capture more shots at the reception.
The photos themselves are above and beyond our expectations. Mindy made full use of the entire hotel for our wedding — pictures at the bar, in the lounge, on the stairs, outside, inside, by the pool, on the balcony, etc. The quality of the photography is amazing! From the lighting, to the pose, the posture and all of the tiniest details –everything is perfect. Even as we were taking the pictures our wedding party was commenting on how professional and polished the work was.
In addition to the fact that the actual product was incredible, working with Doug & Mindy personally was a pleasure. They were extremely responsive and very accommodating to us. We shot our engagement photos in November 2013, and our wedding was originally slated for June 2014. But in January, only 5 months before the original date, we had to unexpectedly change our wedding date to November 2014. Mindy & Doug did not hesitate to work with us and immediately change our plans. They allowed us to change the date and even the payments to best fit our schedule. It was a life saver, and truly representative of the type of people they both are.
It was an absolute pleasure working with both Doug and Mindy and we are so thankful that we booked them!

We had Doug shoot our wedding and we cannot be more happy that he did. He was friendly, fun, confident, and really helped us through the awkwardness of posing for photos. He is such a down to earth guy. We really liked him as a person and so did our guests! Though we haven’t gotten the photos back yet, we would 100% recommend him just based on how comfortable he made us feel, how he helped when needed with stuff that wasn’t even photography related (He helped with my bustle strings when my mom was feeling overwhelmed), and just how smoothly everything went under his direction. He was always quick to respond to emails and overall him and Mindy were just very sweet and very accommodating.

We hired Doug for a 1 year Anniversary photo shoot while celebrating in Las Vegas and he was amazing! We had SO much fun and the photos are absolutely breathtaking! He listened to what we were wanting and made it happen plus so much more! It felt like we had our best friend taking the photos because he just knew what was us and what was not.

The booking system and communication from Doug before the big day was fantastic, which put my mind at ease. Doug made some great suggestions for locations too.
On the day he went above and beyond — taking great steps to ensure everything ran smoothly — from ensuring we were on schedule, liaising with our car driver and helping us out with local knowledge.
But the best part was Doug’s photography expertise — he gave fantastic direction in every photo to each person to make sure the photos were flattering, that we captured the best light, the best background, etc.
And the photos are AMAZING — I’ve had so many comments from family and friends saying how great Doug was on the day and how the photos are the best wedding photos they’ve ever seen.
The photos are all I could have hoped for and more and I can’t thank Mindy Bean Photography enough!

Doug and Mindy did a fabulous job at our wedding last Saturday at the Keep Memory Alive Center! They kept things moving, and didn’t miss a beat They have a great way of making you feel extra comfortable during the day, and this is much appreciated when you’re not used to being photographed. They were on time, and Doug kept in contact in the weeks leading up to the wedding. We haven’t seen the photos yet but we know they’ll be outstanding! Can’t wait to see them. Doug was an awesome photographer. He captured every moment and really seemed to be everywhere at once. He was also very patient with our 2 year old flower girls. He was professional and very knowledgeable and fun to work with. I would absolutely reccomend him to anyone.

Doug was rude to me as well. When I was talking with him he would look away and also made faces when I asked specific questions about his photography. He was definitely all about the money, he’s in finance as he said. He was not really interested in getting to know his potential clients, their story and what they envision for their special day. I walked away with a bad feeling. The pictures are beautiful but disconcerting customer service.

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that my photographer would be one of my favorite parts of our wedding. Having planned my entire wedding long distance from Illinois I wasn’t sure how things would work, but after talking to Doug and looking at his portfolio I felt comfortable booking in for our big day.
Communicating with Doug was always fast and simple. He responded to every email usually within a few hours and even when I started freaking out about details he laid everything out for me and put me at ease.
On the day of the wedding Doug was on time and ready to work. He had shots in mind and was always professional. But perhaps my favorite part about Doug was that he was fun. I always thought taking our wedding photos would feel like work, but even my husband said he was having fun.

Doug was difficult to communicate with from the get go. He was rude, sounded like he would rather not take my job, and made me feel like an idiot. I have never experienced worse customer service in my life. If you would like someone who is excited for your wedding and to take your photos, don’t go with Doug. The first time he congratulated me on my wedding was in his last email to me when he told me he felt better about me not choosing him as my photographer. Classy.
