MINI of Las Vegas

I have a hard time understanding why this Mini Dealership is sooo bad. My wife and I have purchased 2 Mini Coopers in the last 18 months and neither were from this dealership because the service was so bad. I don’t get it, just because you are the only dealership in town do you think that gives you the right to be overly snotty with your customers? Last time they would not let us test drive a car because it was dark (we drove to Irvine to buy) this time they are huffing and puffing because we walked into service to ask about new windshield wipers. The CS rep spent the whole time huffing and puffing. I’m sorry, but if the car wasn’t under warranty or if there were other choices in Vegas I would never go here. If you want a Mini I suggest Justin at Irvine Mini… You will get way better service… And without the attitude!

I’ve been here once when I drove to Vegas (from Cali), and aside from Dawn lying in the paperwork stating I was told about AND declined break service, this facility is quite incompetent. Apparently Dawn made a separate appt for me 6 months later as they keep calling to tell me about it. Again, I don’t even live in the same State!

I have had some issues dealing with this dealership. I have to admit, they will try their best to make you happy. Nathan Lugg was a great salesman and will really try to take care of you. It’s unfortunate I had some car troubles, but he was able to get me out of it. It would have been a great experience if it wasn’t for the unforeseen mechanical issues. Instead, I have had to come multiple times in order to get the car I wanted.

Awesome dealership. Staff was extremely helpful and made the process of buying a car as easy as possible. Sal and Frank were very knowledgable and easy going salesmen to work with. Alexa in finance was also extremely knowledgable and helpful! Really nice people who care about getting you the right car, price, and etc. for you. Maybe I will come back after my mini is paid off and get another because I love the car so much & had such a good experience here.

There have only been two car dealerships I’ve been a fan of in my life, and MINI of Las Vegas is one of them. I can’t say that my experiences will be the same as yours, but I think it’s worth posting something positive about what I’ve seen for several years now.
My wife and I bought a MINI Cooper when we lived in Germany many years ago. It’s a great car, totally fun to drive, but as is the case with most (if not all) modern cars, it’s a mechanical and electrical picture of complexity. Even so, our car has been problem-​free for the most part. When we moved to Las Vegas we learned there was a MINI dealership here. This could be great or bad. It was great because we were still under warranty and had all kinds of service provided to us as a part of the purchase, and of course there are also times you need the quality of service or parts that a dealership can and should provide. The potentially bad aspect is that with only one dealership, there isn’t any competition and attitudes and quality of service (customer care) can quickly go south as a result.
We’ve always been treated well when it comes to service for our MINI, which is refreshing. We had a service technician we saw every time we were there, and never felt there were any shenanigans going on when it came to what needed or wanted to have done. There were very clear distinctions made when it came to things that were recommended/​optional, and what didn’t need to be done at all. That’s right: the service technician actually gave us options that saved us money. Not long after, he moved on and we were given a new service tech: Dawn. She’s been taking care of us for several years now and we couldn’t be happier. Everything we loved about our first year or so was amplified by Dawn’s level of interaction with us, attention to detail, proactivity, honesty… the list could go on.
Unrelated to service, we’ve shopped for a few things now and then in the dealership’s parts department because, well, we love our Cooper and don’t mind having a few cool bits of swag, or a few custom things on the car to add to the awesomeness. The prices for this gear are what you’d expect (high), but the good folks who work in parts always seem to be willing to have the chance to make you happy about your car and your experience with them.
Anyway, I feel many years of good service by two different techs warrants some good words. If you happen to want a MINI, or already have one and need service, don’t shy away from MINI of Las Vegas. When you call for service, be sure to ask for Dawn.

Dawn is always so helpful and accommodating when I take my mini in for its check ups, all the staff are friendly and do a top notch job. I love my car, but I love the complete package you get with mini of Las Vegas

My husband and I were in the market to get a new car, and we had brought my parents with us, as my mom was a consigner. We found the perfect car for us right away! We ended up with a 2008 Ford Edge and it is in pristine condition. Jason was the one who helped us, and he was able to tackle our complicated financial situation. It was the most pleasant experience I’ve had while getting a car and we feel very well taken care of.

Great service! Very friendly people. I recommend Donald Anderson, he called me when a good deal was available and I got a great car at a great price!

My wife and I had a great experience buying a used Toyota, our salesman Chris was helpful and friendly. We will definitely consider returning here for our next car purchase.

What a bunch of incompetent jerks working here. I called to inquire about a used BMW. The person I spoke to told me they would send me the application that night. I didn’t receive it until the next morning. Their online credit application was broken, and I e-​mailed and called twice about it. Finally, I was able to submit my application late in the evening. They pulled my credit and processed my application EVEN THOUGH the car wasn’t even available. Somehow they sold the car I was interested in during the last 12 hours.
Thanks for nothing, and thanks for the terrible communication and customer service.

This has probably been one of the worst csr buying experiences I’ve had. Nobody returns calls, finance department is never available. I don’t understand why. Our finance company has tried numerous times to get a hold of them with no luck. My husband had to physically drive down there just to speak to someone. I wouldn’t recommend these people, or their finance department to anyone.

Dawn is a superstar at keeping my car happy which is the only reason they are getting three stars instead of one.
I got to the dealership/​service center at my appointed time and walked in. There is no check-​in area per se. One just stands around and hopes to be acknowledged eventually. It took about ten minutes before I was acknowledged. Not so much can as a, «Hi. It’ll be just a few minutes.» I came in because my antenna broke and my side mirror popped out. I had the mirror with me, stashed in the side pocket of the vehicle. I explained this over the phone when making my appointment as well as when I checked in for my appointment. At check-​in I was mildly scolded for missing some kind of hidden alert feature. I was told that I would be shown what it was, and my mind would be blown. Ummmm… How about we have a light that comes on and stays on? Doesn’t that seem easier? Okie dokie.
When I came back 9+ hours later to pick up my vehicle, I paid for the antenna install only to discover once I got to my car that there was no antenna on or inside the vehicle and the side mirror was still missing. Come to find out that they forgot to install the part (it was later given to me in an unopened box), and they had ordered a side view mirror because they «didn’t have one on hand»… Ummmm… I have the part, and it just needed glue. C’mon!
The receptionist had major attitude when asked by an associate to refund my money… She told him to hurry something up because she was supposed to have been gone already because she had family in town. I get it: that sucks. But, maybe take him aside or something? How is that professional? I tried to be nice and apologize for keeping her, but she mostly just snorted and whined. Okie dokie.
Edit (10÷24÷15): it’s worth noting that my car was clean and well-​serviced in the midst of all of this.

Just drove in to have my tire pressure checked. Didn’t have an appointment. Just waited a couple minutes til someone could help me. Service guy was friendly.

I came to MINI of Las Vegas to check out a used car. My mother had bought me my first car there when I was 18, it lasted a good while and now it was time for me to buy my own first car. I test drove it, it seemed to run nicely, salesmen were good and we bargained deals and came upon a agreement. The salesman Chris, (who I think is a good salesman) asked me if I was financing or paying in cash. I told him I would pay cash but I need a few days to come up with the money. He insisted that I instead sign a backup contract, where if I did not bring them the cash in a week, then they would send in finance papers to the bank. I asked him if this would be a soft inquiry or a hard inquiry because I take my credit very seriously. He assured me that it would just be a soft pull since I am bringing cash, that it is just a «back up» contract, just in case something happens and I don’t bring them the money, we have a plan B. Well needless to say I sign the backup contract since he was very convincing, and drive my new used car off the lot. I was assured these vehicles were good to go and went through a 50 point inspection, well within 40 miles of driving off the lot, the car was starting to overheat. Not only did my car overheat, but when I got home and I checked my credit report, I had a HARD INQUIRY on my account already, how is this possible? I was told this wouldn’t be sent in to the bank… Now I am very upset.
I brought the car back the next day since I had a 3-​day or 150 mile money back guarantee and asked for my money back. I asked for a refund, and I also brought up my credit problem to Chris. He went and told them what happened because he said it was only supposed to be a soft inquiry let me see if they accidentally sent in your information… well it looks like there is a huge lack of communication at this dealership since she instantly sent in my credit information the night of instead of what me and Chris had made a deal on. I asked Chris what I could do about it the next day and he said well we can probably write a letter to the credit agency and tell them it was a mistake of some sort, so I let that slide for now, and start discussing the car. We talk about finding another vehicle or perhaps fixing my car that I already bought, but I ended up leaving a few hours later with no decision and going to work.
I come back the next day and decide I do want my refund that after selling me this car that overheated within 40 miles of driving off the lot, and my credit being hit after being told it wouldn’t be. I just want my money back and to go somewhere else. I do not think it was Chris fault that the car overheated, or that my credit got hit, maybe it is, but there is definitely lack of communication here. The car also shouldn’t be having problems this quickly. I also came across many customers who were not happy inside this dealership. I sit down Chris wasn’t there that day so I tell another guy Christian a new salesman that was with Chris during my transaction that I want my money back, I sit around for 30 minutes waiting and they come out take my papers and give me my old car back for my refund. So I ask the guy at the counter (forgot his name) if there is anything else we need to do. He told me no. Well now I addressed to him the credit situation, he basically laughed at me and told me they had my permission once I signed the credit papers. They NEVER had my permission. I explained to him that this was a backup contract, I was told I had seven days to bring in my money or else then it would be sent to the bank for a hard inquiry. That was the agreement. He also said «well you’ve done pretty good with your credit so I don’t think this will hurt you much.» Are you kidding me? So you mess up my credit and all you can say is that there is nothing you can do for me, and that I’ve done good with my credit so you don’t think its that big of a deal? Hard inquiry’s stay on your credit report for 2 years. It is a big deal to me. Overall I would never come here to buy a car. Way better dealerships in Las Vegas, I am glad I found the problem of my car right away and not 4 days later when I would be shit out of luck. Stay away from this dealer if you’re smart.

Nate in Sales and Alexa is Finance were a pleasure to deal with. I started shopping for cars about 7 months before I was actually in a position to purchase. When my wife and I first visited the lot, we sort of wandered around the lot and showroom for a few minutes. Nate had just finished up with another customer and came running over to us to make sure we were being helped. After taking a 2014 Mini Cooper Countryman S for a test drive, we told Nate that we weren’t ready to buy just yet and he didn’t try to hard close us.
Over the course of the next several months, either I’d text Nate or he’d text me just to keep in touch. Again, never a hard sell just a «hey, let me know when you are ready.» Since Minis tend to be «lifestyle» cars and I was questioning how practical it would be at my age, I asked if I could do an «extended» test drive. Nate didn’t bat and eye and we arranged to take one out for the afternoon. I put it through a «Middle Aged Man’s» test (picked up my dogs, went to Costco, ran other errands) and the car performed adequately.
A couple of months later, when I was finally ready to purchase, Nate was ready (note, this was more than 200 days after we first met). Since Minis are truly customizable, Nate knew my must haves and what I’d be willing to live with and without. He had one car on the lot and several at other nearby dealers. We settled on one that had just arrived in port and made the deal. After agreeing on a price it was off to Finance.
In Finance, we had the pleasure of working with Alexa. Again, no hard sell on any extended warranties. Just explaining the benefits of each and we were off.
The only issue we had — and the reason this is a 4 star review instead of a 5 star review — was that it took over an hour from the time we finalized the price of the car until the time we were called into Finance to finish the paperwork. They weren’t busy, there was no one in front of us and we were the first deal of day. I don’t blame Nate or Alexa for this, but I hope this has since been corrected.
I do love my car and enjoy driving it daily. It helps that I had a great experience at Mini of Las Vegas!

I can’t say the same for the rest of the sales team — since I look young, it’s easy to assume I’m not spending money. Except that I walked out the door to get a $ 10k check, and made a decision within an hour. Paperwork and financing took a while is all.
Excellent experience, but the rest of the team could use some customer service training.

Right before selling my mini cooper s convertible which was bought used from this particular dealer as well, i stopped by the shop to get an oil change. I didnt think ofselling my car until this point. They said that the oil change wasnt supposed to be due yet and that «they will see what the problem is# since my car sent an alarm saying my oil pressure was low.
After the whole thing, they diagnosed my car as unable to be driven since the timing belt was loose. Whatsoever, I went to get my car key, and was asked to pay roughly around 80 dollars. Shadow, the service guy said it was supposed to be the labor fee for opening the hood. From what i know, they were supposed to tell me, which they didnt. I didnt want to argue with them paid for the fee. After awhile I got an email from dealership to fill out a survey about service received. I explained the situation and few days later, got a call from their service manager asking about the situation.
He said that he will find the hardcopy of the request for service with my signature on it. Never got a call from him. I called him several times the past 3 weeks, even left my number to their employee with a message. Left voice mails to his number as well. NEVER HEARD ANYTHING BACK FROM THIS GUY. all they said was «he’s busy.»
I paid the fee already, so whatever but if i was not supposed to pay for it then i do certainly want an explanation.
Mini always had troubles with me from the beginning.
Even if i buy another mini in the future, it wont happen in Vegas as long as there is only one mini dealership.

Just wasted 4 hours of my time at Mini! Picked out a vehicle to buy for my business, test drove with Jason, filled out the application, negotiated pricing which was very annoying, and then sat there for 45 minutes waiting… and waiting… and waiting. For what? I’m still not completely clear.
This would have been my 3^rd Mini from this dealership, and I can’t believe the poor quality of service today.
