History
Established in 2001.
Without a truly authentic Philly steak joint in Vegas, the owner brought everything including the grills from the city of brotherly love. Yeah, there are no public restrooms, no drive through service, no indoor seating, inadequate parking, and difficult to get to, but you won’t find a better cheesesteak, served faster, fresher, or better tasting, anywhere outside Philly. POP’s is as authentic as it gets. Great value for your dollar, always friendly service, and a consistently wonderful sandwich made to your specifications. The owner was historically disenchanted with the availability of the «real deal» comfort food of Philly and did something about it. Thank goodness! One comment on the mushrooms… Fresh mushrooms have to be washed, cleaned, stemmed, sliced, and refrigerated. There’s a significantly higher incidence of food borne illness with fresh mushrooms. Assessing the risks and labor costs involved, POP’s elected the safer, more cost effective option. Thank you.
Meet the Business Owner
Perry W.
Business Owner
Although born in the North Carolina, I always loved the carnival midway polish sausage, peppers and onions of the State Fair. When I was 12 my family visited Philly and my love affair with Cheese steaks began. In the ensuing years, and throughout adulthood, I made an annual pilgrimage to Philly, and tried nearly every steak in town, mostly south Philly and along the Jersey shore. I moved my family to Vegas and opened POP’s upon discovering that there was no place to get a really good steak sandwich here. I have tried to bring a sense of Carolina hospitality to the business, while maintaining an attitude that the customer has infinite choices when it comes to dining options. We deeply appreciate your patronage and always welcome your comments, reviews, and feedback. If you ever have a less than stellar experience at POP’s, I want to know about it. In the meantime, please enjoy the finest cheese steak money can buy. I guarantee it!
