A connoisseur of aristocratic delicacies, Jean Louis Desage served as one of the Emperor’s personal culinary advisors. The emperor relied upon Jean Louis for his expertise and counsel when selecting one of his most favored delicacies. Napoleon once described the chocolates created by Desage as,” sweet as honey and milk under the tongue.” From the early 1800’s, the recipe for this exquisite delicacy was coveted by all of those lucky enough to sample it. Ramon DeSage, the CEO and Founder of Desage Chocolatier left his native Lebanon in 1968 to pursue an education in political science and economics in Paris. With his prestigious education and expertise in international relations, Ramon moved from France to the United States. He first traveled to Detroit, Michigan, where he had family, but after visiting Las Vegas on a gambling trip in 1977, Ramon DeSage moved to «The Entertainment Capital of the World». Shortly thereafter he saw the need to extend higher-​quality service to customers of the gaming and hospitality industry, so he began to cater to the hotels through direct marketing of amenities and premium gifts. Desage chocolate is one such item which made a significant difference in the chocolate industry.
