My mother was admitted to Spring Valley hospital after a broken shoulder/​surgical repair admitted her to Dr. Soriano’s rehab service. After a few days I noticed that my mother was having difficulty breathing and requested a pulmonary consult. It took several days before a CT scan was done and pneumonia was confirmed. By then it was too late. She developed severed respiratory distress and I called hospice. Dr. Soriano REFUSED to release her directly to hospice and hung up the phone on me. After 24 hours, he realized that her condition had worsened significant;y and finally agreed to hospice. I believe that he did not want her to die on his watch and have to explain this to the morbidity board at the hospital. My mother died peacefully in hospice three days later.
If you have anything more than a hangnail, I would not see this physician.
