The Farm

Love it. Farmers market with farm fresh eggs, jams, raw honey, bread, produce, etc. that taste wonderful. There are plenty of animals to look at, pet, and feed. There is space to walk around, a garden, sitting areas to relax; nice place to spend a weekend day alone or with family.

A sanctuary for neglected and mistreated farm animals, The Farm is a rare display of humanity in Las Vegas. The front farmer’s market is open for free to the public and for a small donation you can hang out in the back and feed the critters. They have a super cute pup with two and a half legs that was rescued from an abusive household, its amazing to see her happily hopping around playing with all the chickens, peacocks, horses, cows, piggies. There is also a large cat family. Full disclosure: I love cats and would come just to hang out with the cats.
We were surprised at the range of fruit and veg, picked up plump zucchini, squash, tomatoes, potatoes, and apples. The range is very reasonable at $ 2lb pound across the shop. We picked up jumbo eggs for $ 8/​dozen (double the size of a «jumbo» supermarket egg) but there were less expensive options available. Will be coming back for honey when we need it.

Love coming here for fresh veggies, fresh eggs, and homemade honey… Just went to their first dinner and movie night… All I can say is it was amazing… The volunteers are nice and helpful, and the owner, such kind woman… This is def a hidden lol gem!!!

I never knew we had a farm in Las Vegas, but what sold me was the raw honey. As soon as we got there we paid our $ 5 entrance fee and took a look around. They have food you can buy to give to the animals (carrots and hay). The walk around the farm was fun, we got to see cows, chickens, pigs, and horses. I also bought 6 large jars of honey for $ 20 a pop.
This is definitely worth a trip. They also have fruits and vegetables for sale too.

This is one of the best place to go to when you have absolutely nothing to do.
You can feed farm animals, buy organic fruits, veggies and eggs, buy organic honey and jam, pet literally all the cats.
It is a great place to take your kids, buy some organic groceries, go on a date.
The farm isnt so big but they need donations. Out of quail eggs right now due to one of the workers losing his quails. He bought new ones but they are still babies. Poor guy :(

I am from the Vegas strip side so i wanted to get away from the strip and just learn to love every living thing. This is a great place to get in touch with a more rural feel. :)

We love The Farm, it’s a new favorite with our little. It’s the perfect size for us to wander and enjoy. The owners and staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Everything is clean… considering you’re on a farm surrounded by animals! Cows, chickens, goats, horses and pigs plus so much more to see. All the animals are rescued and well taken care of. It’s a treat for kids to have this wonderful place to visit when living in the desert.

Hands down, my favorite place in Las Vegas, without a shadow of a doubt.
Boyfriend and I were going to Gilrease Orchard but discovered it was closed for the season. We stumbled upon The Farm down the street and it was the greatest discovery.
We decided to buy veggies and some fruits. We also decided to get honey and jam. The honey, is honestly, unlike anything I have ever tasted. It is so good, I can literally eat it out of the jar. There is nothing like it. It’s worth the $ 10 for the small jar and $ 20 for the bigger jar. The jam is just as great too!
After purchasing a bunch of delicious, glorious, wellbeing foods, we decided to donate the $ 5 per person to see and pet the animals. The animals are well taken care of and they are extremely loved! They’re all healthy and happy.
Boyfriend and I also talked about the fact of how well maintained the property was. It didn’t smell like a farm. It’s clearly well taken of. And the animals are so socialized that they don’t mind the people walking near them and taking photos. They’re friendly.
Having lived in a true farm town in Davis, California, this is as close as it gets to a farm. The fact that this will not only survive, but also thrive in Las Vegas is amazing.

The Farm is my all time favorite place to visit in Las Vegas. My grandchildren absolutely love going and are constantly asking to visit Sharon and Glenn. It is very obvious that Sharon and Glenn love animals and enjoy sharing them with others. We love the annual pumpkin patch, cow train, hay rides, hay maze, and seeing and petting the animals. If you haven’t tried baking with duck eggs, you should really pick some up at the farm. They make anything you bake moister and richer. Plan on spending several hours if you really want to enjoy what The Farm has to offer.

This place was pretty cool. My son enjoyed it. There were quite a few animals who all seemed to be treated well and like the care givers. The staff was super friendly. They have a good selection of fresh fruits and vegetables as well as fresh eggs and honey. It’s cheap to go in to see the animas and free to enter the market.

Still love coming to The Las Vegas Farm every week for farm fresh eggs and local honey.

Great place, but they won’t let kids into the store if you came just to shop. This makes it difficult if you have the kids by yourself for the day. It stems from people saying they are gonna shop, then they wonder to the farm area. This sounds like a fence off and area control issue, but the owner is making harder for customers. Bad business decision. But great produce. If you have kids, plan accordingly

I can’t believe its here in Las Vegas. I went twice and loved it. Go early in the morning to find eggs for sale and they also sell raw honey. Love the animals just walking about and if you have kids you can take them in to see the other animals very inexpensive.

This place is so amazing. My kids loved going here, it’s a great place for kids. The people here are so nice and it’s so great to get away from the typical vegas attractions that are on the strip. They have so many animals and my kids even got to feed them. I can’t wait to take my kids back here again. Omg and the homemade bread they make is the best ever and the fresh apples that are locally grown. This place is a great little hidden treasure

The Farm is a wonderful place that everyone can find something that they love about it. There are horses, cows, pigs, a llama, goats, donkeys, peacocks, ducks, chickens, turkeys, rabbits, tortoises… and the list goes on. A great place to bring the kids to get to see all these animals in person. At their farmers market there are homemade items like jams, jellies, and bread. Unfiltered honey, vegetables and fruit. Don’t forget to get there early to get the fresh eggs!!! (really wanted to keep that to myself lol))
All the animals are also rescue animals and are well taken care of… but it doesn’t come cheap… so visit The Farm and help support the cause ;-)

The Farm was ok. However, charging $ 5 to get in and then trying to nickel and dime you to death by charging another $ 3 for a small petting zoo, and another $ 3 to go through a maze, is ridiculous in my opinion.

Let me just start out by saying, Im from Ohio, and I know what a farm is. I have never seen a farm similar to the ones I knew well as a kid, but I found this little gem! Me and my boyfriend loved all the friendly animals, especially the cats were super friendly! The cows, pigs, and baby kittens were my personal favorites. All the animals seemed super happy and they had lots and lots of pumpkins! Also got some apple cider from here via the orchard across the street. Also had a awesome wood carver. Amazing place for kids especially with a maze and animals!

I visited The Farm this morning with my 18 month old daughter. I’m originally from WI and this place is super quaint and inviting. We live in South Las Vegas so the drive seems a bit far at first via Google Maps however it was only about a 30 min drive (and so worth it!). My daughter and I were literally in awe the entire time we were there. The Farm has roosters, goats, ducks, llamas, mules, horses, turtles, fish, bunny rabbits, chickens, cows, pigs, peacocks and I’m sure more animals that I’m missing. We were able to feed the peacocks and cows and horses. I also learned about a Fall Harvest Festival which we will be attending. I can’t say enough great things about this super special place… so worth the trip. It’s definitely a «destination» hot spot for locals.
They sell fresh vegetables like a farmers market and scrumptious pumpkin bread (we purchased the zucchini and pumpkin bread).

Let’s keep things in perspective. Shall we? If you are coming from the midwest or the East coast like me, you know what a farm typically looks like. With a certain expectation and a priori knowledge, you may have a definitive picture of what you consider «a farm.» But this place, «The Farm,» it is a place located in an arid desert. One cannot expect it to closely resemble a typical farm in other more fertile places.
So keeping that in mind, this place is a lot bigger than it looks. The man at the cash register told me it’s a 5-​acre farm but most of it is hidden away from public view. If you are just coming here to buy produce, there is no fee. Otherwise, it’ll cost you $ 2 to enter. They have various animals, both in cages and in free roam and these animals were rescued and adopted. Hence, like me, if you see a strange looking quail pacing back and forth in its cage, don’t attempt to set it free (like what I tried to do last Saturday). There may be something wrong with it so it needs to be caged.
They sell fresh eggs, local honey and various produce items. I thought the eggs and honey were really expensive so I didn’t buy any. Instead, I bought two pounds of purple potatoes. The older gentleman at the cash register gave it to me for only $ 1.00! I don’t know why but thank you, good sir. You are very kind.
If you’re visiting Gilcrease orchard for some leafy veggies, don’t forget to stop by the farm for things like potatoes and honey!

BARN BUDDIES RESCUE is a nonprofit organization that advocates for the humane treatment of animals. This organization rescues thousands of unwanted and neglected animals every year. They use their own money to feed, vaccinate, and shelter everything from large barn mammals, to household pets. This is a giant facility, but the smaller area which is accessible to the public is named THE FARM.
Not only does the farm create a sanctuary for animals in need, but the owners use this facility to help children with autism, intellectual developmental issues, and even foster kids. Every kid I have brought here has loved it so much that they wanted to volunteer.
Remember that the eggs sold here are organic. These farm eggs are always going to be more expensive than supermarket eggs. When I lived in San Diego county, chicken farming was once one of the biggest industries in the areas surrounding Julian Mountain. I remember driving two hours to get 12 eggs for like $ 6.00. It is a standard price for such high quality fertile eggs.
Also remember that they have Duck Eggs here and they are the only place in Clark County where you can purchase them. Duck Eggs are a southern tradition in baking. If used in cakes it will produce a much superior product.
Like I mentioned this sanctuary provides compassion and welfare to every animal without discrimination. They have rescued large farm animals such as Hazel and Mabel (the two dairy cows), and Violet (the pot belly pig). They have also rescued smaller animals such as cats, birds, goats, rabbits, and even a toad! Earlier today a lady brought brought her beloved pet chickens because her home owners association attempted to foreclose her house if she didn’t get rid of them. Many of the burros and horses are also adopted animals who were victims of abuse and neglect, or forced eviction from HOAs.
Can an individual honestly feel that they possess the entitlement or position to criticize a nonprofit organization in which the owners spend their own hard earned money (from their day jobs) to protect the welfare of animals in need? Sorry that they don’t have blackjack and video poker here? Sorry that they don’t have Taiwanese snow cream here? But, when I sit here with my foster kids, I frequently see people complain about the $ 1.00 entry fee. Are people here in Vegas really that broke? Or is it that you all want everything to be free and subsidized by the government? Are all people in NW Vegas really like this?
I want to conclude this review by thanking the two owners for helping my foster kids on so many occasions. Your compassion to our community is a much valued resource to those in need, and I have seen a world of difference in these children since they started coming to your farm.
