History

Established in 2008.

Dr. Matthew Brooks opened Town Center Animal Hospital in October of 2008 with one mission. He wants to provide advanced veterinary care with old fashioned compassion and respect for his clients and patients.

Dr. Matthew B.

Manager

His commitment to veterinary medicine began when he worked for a small animal clinic and a zoo in his hometown of Tampa, FL. Since then, his interest in animal medicine grew to include cattle and horses; though, small animal practice is where his passion lies.

Dr. Brooks attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. GO RAMS! There, he earned a Bachelors in Biology, a Masters in Epidemiology, Biosecurity, and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.

Dr. Brooks has lived in Las Vegas since 2004. His professional interests include minimally invasive surgery, clinical pathology, and preventative medicine.

He is also committed to helping the abandoned animals of the valley by co-​creating the Funny Bones Foundation& helping local Animal Rescue Groups. www​.fun​ny​bonesve​gas​.com

He has three pets: «Benjamin» a Golden Retriever, «Mason», an English Labrador, and «Walter» a Burmese cat (and true master of the house).

Competent, but upselling to an extreme. We’re not fond of the taking your pets in for just vaccinations, and leaving with surprise «add ons». Granted, you want them to be honest and tell you about your pet’s health, but we have found that more often then not– you go in for three things and end up paying for five.

Town Center has been incredible to work with. They treat my cat and dog amazing and are very friendly and accommodating to me. There is consistent followup after appointments and seems to be a genuine care of the animals they treat. I will continue to go here for as long as I live in Vegas.

Be aware when u bring ur dog to get a vaccine. they don’t explain it to us what are the vaccines that their gonna give to my dog. The receptionist just asked us if my dog go in other places. And she’s getting 3 vaccines. That’s it. And when my dog is out they did flu vaccine on her and fecal without my approval. I’m so disappointed. I’m only expecting that only the scheduled vaccine is the one that they are going to give to my dog. And even the scheduled vaccine they don’t even explain it to us. I think we have the right to know what are the vaccines that our dogs are getting.

We like this place. Priced fairly and the vets are very good too. If you live in the Summerlin area you should consider this animal hospital. Convenient location near the 215/​Twain and much more reasonable than Boca Park Animal Hospital. Highly recommend.

Few years ago they really care about your pets life!
Today it’s just a money generating machine-​ITS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY HERE! They will rip you off as much as they can if you don’t have money good luck let your pets die! They will charge for everything without any human sense ! Be careful you can end up paying thousands of dollars for nothing!!! Major rip off

I love this vet! The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Prices are reasonable and the rooms are clean.
The doctors explain things thoroughly and have patience. My kitty is not very well behaved and they take her in the back so I don’t have to see her struggle with getting shots or blood drawn.
They also do boarding. I’ve never used it but I would trust them to watch my fur child for an extended period of time.

I used to love this vets office, everyone here has always been great and very nice and helpful. The last two times I have been here however, I have seen Dr. Brooks. He is one of the owners of the practice to my understanding, He is friendly enough, until you cannot pay for all of the extra testing and procedures (upselling) he wants to do. Then he gets frustrated and judgmental and treats you like you’re not doing everything you possibly can for your pet. I love my animals immensely and I don’t like being treated like I do not.

I’m still thoroughly impressed with TCAH. I now own two French Bulldogs and I have been coming here for all of our veterinarian needs since 2012. Their hours are great and accommodate a busy schedule — open early so you can get in an out and on with your day. I still wish my own physician had these hours and were this accommodating.
I’ve been here frequently since Bison, my cream french bulldog (a rescue), is having horrendous allergies. We’ve exhausted every diet option and have even tried every organic grain free food (Sojos, Honest Kitchen, single protein /​single starch food) on the market. We even tried cooking for them in hopes of getting his flare ups under control. We are now moving forward with the food and allergy testing under Dr. Kyle’s recommendation.
If you’re looking for an outstanding veterinarian, go see Dr. Kyle. She has been such a doll throughout our journey on this whole allergy fiasco. Dr. Kyle has approached Bison’s treatment in a holistic fashion and didn’t just push medications and steroids as the only solution. She looks at the big picture and ensures they’re providing Bison with a well-​rounded treatment plan. We’ve added supplements like fish oil to Bison’s diet to ensure he’s getting extra DHA and EPA fatty acids in his diet. Dr. Kyle is exceptionally caring and loving with Moose and Bison during our office visits. She crouches down and greets our boys in a welcoming manner when she enters the exam room. They run right up to her and greet her with kisses and this makes the whole treatment process a positive one.
Additionally, TCAH hasn’t ‘nickle and dimed’ us for every little thing. They have been very fair with their pricing. They haven’t charged us for follow up office visits for his ongoing checkups and have only billed us for the required medication and Rx wipes/​shampoo. They also don’t overcharge for his Rx food (I looked online and they offer better pricing in the office). I’ve been thoroughly impressed with every visit. I’m will continue to be a lifetime client and will wholeheartedly recommend TCAH and Dr. Kyle to anyone who asks.

Wow, has this place slid down hill faster that Hillary Clinton poll numbers. On our last visit, we gave specific instructions as to how we desired our dog was to be treated, only to find out later they were disregarded. You will also note the waits to have your dog checked in get longer and longer. One time, I was kept waiting for 20 minutes in the little room only to find out they forgot I was in there with my dog. If you have lots and lots of time and patience (for ineptitude), this is your place.

Ive had my little dog Romeo for 7 years now and we have seen MANY vets. We’ve moved a bit so were constantly looking for new vets in our new area. Whenever I visit a hospital, he would never see the same vet, Id get charged for things I didn’t even know I was getting charged for and they would rerun tests because no vet would see him twice. Not sure if they were constantly leaving or what it was, but every time I’d go back the last vet wasn’t there anymore.
I was hesitant on bringing my dog here because I thought, oh great, another vet we will never see again. Wrong! Im so please with Dr. Brooks. if you’re looking for someone who is going to BABY YOU, look else where but they will baby your pet. Dr. Brooks is honest, upfront and willing to help in anyway he can.
Romeo has to have a surgery and he told me what was a MUST to do and pay for, what isn’t a must and what is optional and when I opt out of the «optional» he doesn’t try to fight me or convince me otherwise. He understands the added expenses and really tries to be helpful.
I’m really nervous for his minor surgery, but I have a lot of trust in this office and Dr. Brooks.
Oh also, Im a person that if you’re rude to me in even the slightest I will defend myself 100% and never go back. BUT everyone, all of the staff has been exceptionally kind. Whenever I come in, i’m greeted right away and EVERYONE has been so so nice. Im very pleased.

I fully trust all vets here my favorite for her bedside manner is Dr. Kyle… She doesn’t talk down to you she keeps your feelings in mind and also your ability to afford treatments not like other veterinarians that I have been to!

At two years of age my best bud Bronx (a pit bull) has had some pretty terrible luck when it comes to injuries. The most recent was a torn acl. Any large breed dog owner knows how pricey and stressful this surgery can be. While we’re about 4 weeks into recovery I’m happy to say he’s been doing great thanks to Town Center Animal Hospital. Dr. Kyle seemed to be extremely knowledgeable on the subject and was kind enough to show me some therapeutic maneuvers that would help the process.
Front desk has also been great. Every time we show up he’s immediately recognized and treated very well. Everyone seems to genuinely care about him and that goes a long way with me.
I’ll be bringing my dog here for the years to come.

This place was a absolute high tension nightmare! We walked in for a 7 pm appt. There were people just standing around with the look of anger. 1 lady yelled to the receptionist I want my dogs now!!! She told us her dogs were getting their teeth cleaned and was told to pick them up at noon she was still there at 6:30p.m. It felt like a shady place and everything including floors were full of dust. After experiencing this we chose to walk out with our cat and never looked back!

I have had nothing but great experiences here! I have a rescue and have had two pets spayed here so far– prices are reasonable– receptionists friendly and knowledgable– office hours superb!!!
I haven’t met the vets yet personally, but heard great things about this practice before I ever brought my own dogs!

The staff at front desk are nice. The groomer was fantastic. The owner of practice (dr brooks) was rude on numerous occasions. He gave my dog medication which forced her to pee everywhere, my bed included. I called to see what was going on. After hours of no call back and having to throw out my one year old mattress. He left me a Nasty voicemail about a potential side effect of medicine with no remedy. Find another vet.

I love Town Center Animal Hospital! And so do my fur babies! well… they don’t love it but whatever they like more dog treats and toys because I save money here instead of going to other places that rob you.
When I had my first puppy, we were seeing Dr. Burghardt and we were saddened when he left to go to San Diego… eye candy! But… we quickly got over it when we had Dr. Stewart take over. She is a dream come true for any dog lover!
When I was unemployed, my dog had to have a surgery. I called around town… every place wanted over $ 800…not including labs, testing, etc… you we all know how quickly those costs add up. Well, Dr. Stewart evaluated and the total was a little over $ 300. Post Op visits were free… and at one point, she forgot to give us the medicine so we had to come back… and because of that… the $ 20 ear drops were free since I had to drive back! She’s a saint. I love her!
I have new puppies now and they will only be going to this vet.

I started taking my pug puppy here a couple of months ago, for vaccinations & routine exams. The techs are always wonderful & are very excited to see my puppy when we walk in the door. It’s always easy to schedule an appointment and we usually don’t have to wait very long once we’re there. As everyone else has mentioned, the facilities are super clean and nice.
We have seen 3 doctors so far, and Dr. Pittman is our absolute favorite. He has great bedside manner and you can tell he really has a love for animals. I also like that he takes the time to talk to the humans about issues, etc. and does a great job at explaining what he’s doing & why.
We saw Dr. Stewart once and she was ok. She was super gentle when giving our pup her first vaccinations and nail trimming, but she wasn’t very talkative with us.
Our least favorite doctor has been Dr. Adams. It felt like she was rushing the visit. Our puppy had an ear infection and she took our puppy out of the exam room (and away from us) for 30 minutes to examine her ears. By the time she brought our puppy back, she was freaked out and terrified, which made giving her vaccinations and trimming her nails a nightmare. I’ve never heard my puppy make such horrible noises! (We had a follow up visit with Dr. Pittman & he took the puppy out of the room for 5 minutes & returned her to wait with us while he examined her ear cultures. Doing this created a much calmer environment.) I will definitely never see Dr. Adams again.

Dr. Cordero is no longer here and it’s really unfortunate. We now are seeing doctors that she recommended and they are decent, but that’s the extent of it. There are long waits while you’re sitting in the room wondering if they even know you’re there — last visit was almost forty minutes. Hopefully this will get better. Their corporate structure seems to be a numbers game where customers and dogs are at the bottom of the list.
The front desk people are completely clueless as usual. The women who work in the morning are far better than the afternoon shift who are truly useless. They seem confused by all questions that don’t involve them swiping your credit card. They have really inappropriate attitudes for people working in medical customer service. It’s off putting.
When the wellness plans we had purchased with Dr. Cordero run out we’ll likely look for a new clinic. This one is just a Banfield with better digs.

They killed my dog.
My 9 yr old chihuahua went in to have a topical benign tumor removed from his neck region (similar to a mole) in no way a major surgery. He was placed under anesthesia, had a successful surgery and we’re told he woke and was placed into recovery where a short time later he stopped breathing and they weren’t able to resuscitate him. We are heartbroken. He had been put under 6 other times at a different vets office and never had issues. I have so many questions and no answers. Was he given too much anesthesia? Was he not properly looked after in recovery? Even the answers won’t bring him back. Losing a pet is awful and I wish it weren’t under these circumstances. I don’t know if they were negligent or not, but I needed to share our story. I could never go back with a future pet because I could never trust them.
Update: Since posting this original post I have had numerous messages regarding which vet performed the sugary. It was Dr. DeVilbiss.
