Have you heard of Chicken Shack? Well this is basically a Chicken Shack except they have slightly more pork/ribs type food. Chicken Shack has ribs too but they have slightly more chicken choices. They both have broasted chicken with lot of butter on it. It smells exactly the same inside. I got a pulled pork sandwich with broasted potatoes. It was good but the broasted potatoes keep making me think I was eating chicken shack. Well. It’s good. Nothing spectacular. It does it job if you’re wanting some ribs, sandwich, chicken, and potatoes quickly.

I’m not a fan, but my brother is, which is why I’m writing this review. So, I tried the barbecue chicken, broasted potatoes, cole slaw and ribs. The ribs fell off the bone, but not in a good way. The chicken lacked flavor and the potatoes were blah! I suggest you go to Chicken Shack, where the food is always consistently delicious. Why does my brother like it you might ask? He loves their 25 cent wings on Mondays and Tuesdays. I’ve tasted them and their not half bad, hence the two star rating.

The best BBQ ribs I’ve ever had. Have you ever had a taste for something? You knew exactly what you wanted, how you wanted it. That was my experience. I wanted ribs … BAD. I remembered the Rib Rack, which is a mile from my home. Pulled into the parking and walked out with a bag of smokey, tangy, sweet, succulent heaven. So good, I had the ribs 2 days in a row(was praying the cashier wouldn’t recognize me). Try them. You will love ‘em.

As I slowed my car to a stop in front of the Rib Rack, I unconsciously awaited the smells that were sure to hit me once I got out of my car. Nothing. No hickory, smoky, pork grilled infused air wafted out to me. Hmmph. Upon entering I knew something was wrong. There is NO barbecue smell at all inside the restaurant! I could smell the fresh paint, and carpet glue. This perturbed me, it is absolutely mandatory to smell barbecue far before tasting it. I decided to order a small rib snack and bbq wings instead of a full dinner. I was far beyond suspect of the bbq’s origin. Where did they make the ribs then, if not here? My guess is they are cooked, flash frozen and then sent to the restaurant to be boiled or steamed(possibly in the plastic bag they were frozen in) until done. Then tossed on a George Foreman type grill once ordered then slathered in sauce. There is more authentic bbq to be found in Detroit folks. That’s my theory and I’m sticking to it. Anyhow, there is a brag worthy menu item here. The chicken wings! They were fried to order… then…hold on here this is exciting… put on the grill until they received yummy char marks. Then doused in a very tasty bbq sauce. Absolutely heavenly. The skin was crispy and smoky, absolutely delicious. The broasted potatoes are fab here too. Crispy, buttery, and salty with a fluffy inside. The ribs, eh they fell off the bone fine enough — and the sauce is great but they are not smoked. No smoke rings once you bite into the meat. May make an okay lunch. Drive to Uptown BBQ to quench a real rib craving instead.

Went there tonight and got ribs and the chicken breast. What gives this place 5 stars is the bbq sauce! It was soo good! It was recommended, so even though it was a bit of a drive for me, it was totally worth it. The ribs were darn good too. Is «fall off the bone» too cliché-ish to say about ribs? FINE! These were… «tumble off the bone» delicious. «come down off the bone» amazing. «dismount from the bone» good. Oookay. You get the picture.

I want to say this is the first rib restaurant in Southfield… This could be a lie, but this is what my mother proclaims so I’m going with it. Very new restaurant and it’s very exciting to see ribs in the suburbs! LOL. I thought my meal was pretty good. Not comparable to the ribs at Uptown, but it was pretty decent. Prices are standard and they have a lot of cool lunch menu combos. My suggestion is to order food ahead of time.

This is a pretty decent restaurant. My food was OK. Maybe it’s just me but when I think barbecue I think grilled not broiled. I don’t know why I’m surprised because a lot of restaurants use that method. The sauce was excellent and so were the side options. The service was pretty good and so was the environment of the restaurant itself.
