I’ve been here 3 times and each time has been ok, but this 3^rd time will probably be my last.
On the pro side the facility is nice, looks clean, and they take steps to ensure you are comfortable.
What I found to be extremely annoying was the consistent up selling of services. I think I am reasonable and expect you to tell me of all of your services and try to upgrade services for customers. I even can appreciate this.
I went in under time constraints for a simple mani/​pedi and brought my own color. My nail tech (Mary) asked me if I wanted to get gel on my nails a minimum of 5 times, with me declining each time, and then went on to say my chosen color wasn’t «beautiful» and I needed to get a beautiful gel color multiple times there after. I also asked she not clip my cuticles, which she disregarded, and did any way.

Well it’s been about 5 days now and every single one of my nails have either chipped of peeled halfway off. So upsetting I wanted to make this my go to nail place):

The place is nice yes it is but the guy who did my nails and pedicure was rushing and didn’t do a good job so I had to after spend 130 on Friday in there spend 80 somewhere else to get my six done correctly.

I agree with others here. At this point, I’ve been here over 10 times. They need to be more prompt especially when people have reservations. Overall customer service can use a boost. I have my favorite techs now, so quality is always good but if I have to switch to someone else for any reason, my experience is not the same. The techs that I used to go to don’t talk to me now since I chose someone else as my regular tech which is interesting… I just want consistency and quality for my money.

I ended up spending $ 65 here — $ 30 for a gel manicure and $ 35 for a pedicure. Although the pedicure turned out great, the gel manicure is truly embarrassing. My nails weren’t filed evenly, the gel polish started bubbling and changing color within the first two days. Overall it was a sloppy job. Four days after my gel manicure and I’m dying to get this taken off and re-​done somewhere better.

I enjoyed my pedi for the most part. The complimentary drink was WONDERFUL! I didn’t like that they did the paraffin wax after he had painted my toes. There was still wax on my feet when I left. I kinda didn’t like my drink In a clear plastic cup… oh well. The chairs were comfy. U can’t tip on your check card. This place is just ok.

Due to reviews, I wanted to check this place out. From appearance, it appears a nice, clean and upstanding place; they also offer free drinks while receiving service. Their prices aren’t too cheap so I considered they were a fair business. The place smell of nail polish and chemicals which threw me off as a legit nail salon has smell extractors and doesn’t smell so this was red flag 1. Red flag 2, because of the cold weather, my nails has started breaking so I got an overlay to keep my nails strong. Well, my nails burn which is a high indicator they use MMA (meant for dental work not to use on nails !!) so with that being said, they’re nothing but a chop shop that appears shiny on the outside. Will not return to this place, they’re probably cutting corners else where also. When you receive acrylic, your nails are not suppose to burn or feel «tight» ever so beware.

My boyfriend and I went here to get pedicures. They did an excellent job. I def got my money’s worth for a massage.
Shop was clean. Lots of colors and I like that we got to pick out our scents.
The staff were very friendly.

At first glance I thought this would be a nice change of pace from my normal nail salon, but it turned out to be subpar. The polishes are mostly China Glaze, which never seem to wear well or last very long and it doesn’t seem like they do more than the minimum surface cleaning. Overall it just wasn’t a pleasant experience and my nails looked better when I walked in (two weeks since I had my nails done elsewhere) than when I left.

My bf and I visited this salon for pedi’s. It was a Sunday morning around noon. It wasn’t crowded at all.
It’s nice and clean. They sanitize their instruments the same way a dental office does; in little pouches which is awesome.
We had a great visit. It was his first time and it wasn’t awkward at all. I’ll definitely visit this place again in the future.

I scheduled an appointment online and it went smooth. Everyone was courteous and my nails came out amazing. I did get the gel manicure on top of my acrylic. I see one small chip after 24 hrs of wear, but I’m assuming it’s normal. I will definitely go back. Clean, timely, courteous.

I came here with some friends. We had a girls night out and reserved all of the pedicure seats. Inside is really big.
There was a long wait to get my nails done even though I had a reservation. Tony did a fabulous job on my nails. Ive gotten a ton of complimemts on them. He didn’t say much, which was fine I had a long day at work.
You also get a free glass of red wine or a mimosa.

I’ve been coming here ever since my nail tech johnny started here a few months ago… I have committed my nails to johnny for life. Not only is he talented but he is funny too. He specializes in colored acrylic powder which last up to 6 weeks at least that’d the longest I’ve ever gone. He takes pride and his time with his work even if you’re his last customer and he is tired he will take his time. I will follow him where ever he goes. As for the actual nail bar, so far I like them it’s very clean and has a modern reception area everything is electronic and you can make appointments online for most techs or you can call. Alright Unilocal readers, today turned into a hot mess of a day. But I wanted to salvage it by doing something for me. The only reason I chose this place was because a Unilocaler commented on a post I wrote and suggested this place. I would say first impression not so much. There was a woman sitting on the couch, she got up quickly and said hi. But then this is where I had doubts she didn’t know what she was talking about. I was getting a manicure, I knew that going in. I told her I wanted something good for my nails and hands because there in chemical water often. She was like what you want. She said acrylic would help my nail grow. I asked her how because I have slow growing nails. I’m expecting a comment like not enough vitamin or something but she just repeated it and seemed annoyed.
The woman who did my nails goes by Michelle but I got her real name because I thought she was wonderful. Her name is Minh Troung. I’m a pedicure gal, but my hands were Rrrufffff. I got the spa subdirectory green tea and I loved it she really took care if nails and made them nice. Gave a great massage to my hands. I got a design on my pinky and she was great at hearing what I wanted and delivered. She is good with color and knowing what works. I recommend her highly!
My friend was with me, and she made a comment how relaxing it was and she wasn’t getting her nails done. Great classic modern look and you get wine. I would have paid for it but it’s free so Yay! Them in that. I did spill it and the lack of attention to a customer making a sound to signify something happened no one acknowledged me. When Minh came back she was concerned but I had cleaned it up myself.
Overall great environment, prices are a bit higher but I think you will get what you pay for. I just got a mani, I paid twenty and a design for 5, cannot complain I left happy.
For a manicure I will be going back idk about pedicures yet. But so far, it is a good place. Either way, fellow readers good place to try. Thanks to the comment from Silverback S. I thought about giving this place a try but I only really went for it because of the comment.

Stopped in just because I was in the area. needed a pedi and thought to check them out. The décor is new and inviting. staff nice enough but I don’t think it was anything special. did not get the pedi package I asked my tech for. I didn’t like how she cleaned the foot tub while I was still sitting there drying. her shirt kept hitting my not quite dry toes. nice but much was desired… was going to get a mani but decided to go back to where I normally go.

The place looks great and its clean but I away schedule my appointment online and they never seem to get me in the chair at that scheduled time and I have seen them put a walk in before me. Also I request the lavender 45 $ pedi which would obviously make the treatment products (ie scrub soaks, lotions) purple/​lavender family. He goes to their supply shelf and picks up products that are orange and green. So I asked are you sure that is lavender? He doesnt even double check and says yes then dumps it in. Then he comes back and say «Oh sorry wrong one then dumps in more product instead or draining! So now I am soaking in something that looks like mop water. When he was using the pumice stone it feel on the ground and he went to pick it up and continue to use. I had to stop him. Like seriously? That was just one horrible experience the one previously though I started late it wasnt as bad.
Also that same guy didnt offer me water of anything but everyone else had
And I dont get how you can invest in your facility to looks so great but you are using China glaze nail polish o₀???

I went to this nail salon for the first time this past Wednesday with my mom and my niece, and even though the small amount of reviews posted here seemed pretty mixed, I knew it was a fairly new business so I wanted to give it a shot anyways. I called ahead to make an appointment but they said they were slow and we would be able to just walk in, and we did just that. From talking to some of the staff, it seems they’re slower during the week and get busy on weekends.
First off — this is the biggest nail salon I have ever been to. I mean, it’s absolutely huge. You can tell that they put a lot of effort into designing and decorating the place. It was very clean also.
The nail polish selection was a little lacking in brands that I usually like (I’m an OPI and Essie fanatic) and they did have some OPI but no Essie, a decent amount of China Glaze colors and some brands I hadn’t heard of before. They have a large selection of colors for gel manicures.
We all got their standard pedicure, which was $ 30 and included an orange scrub, callous removal, and an oil massage. The also used hot towels on your legs. All three of us were satisfied and relaxed by the end of the pedicure. Also, the massage chairs were more comfortable than I’m used to — normally I don’t use the massage function at nail salons because I find it to be too rough and uncomfortable, but these were really nice, and my mom noticed it too.
My niece and I got gel manicures and my mom got a regular manicure. We were all happy with these also. The gel manicures were $ 35 each and the regular one was $ 15. I’m very specific about how I want my nails done — I like them short, square with rounded edges, and I always ask them not to cut my cuticles unless they have to because they get irritated really easily. The man who did my nails fulfilled all of my requests, and I think this is the first manicure I’ve gotten in a while that didn’t irritate my cuticles at all. I noticed a few reviews saying that there was a lot of excess gel left around the nails when they were done, and I definitely had some, more than I’m probably used to, but after you wash your hands a few times or take a shower it tends to just come off your skin. My excess was gone before the end of the first day. It’s been 5 days and I haven’t had one chip yet which is a good sign too. The only thing I wanted to make note of here is that my niece asked if they would do a design on her gel manicure, and I’ve personally had other salons do this for me with regular polish on top of the gel, and they said they don’t do that, so I was a little surprised. Oh, another cool thing to note is that the UV lamps for the gel manicures are built right into the tables at arms length when you’re sitting, which is really convenient and more comfortable than what I’m used to, which is a plugged in unit sitting on top of the table you have to rest your hand in.
My niece got her eyebrows waxed, which was $ 9, and was satisfied with that also.
They do offer complimentary drinks, which is a nice perk and sort of makes you feel like a VIP. My mom had a glass of wine, I don’t drink alcohol so I got a bottled water, and my niece is only 17 so she chose hot tea.
The staff were all very friendly, and they didn’t rush us out at all, and asked us how our experience was and if we needed anything else. They were very attentive. I noticed a few reviews saying they were pushy and wanted you to get the higher priced pedicures, etc. but we didn’t have that experience when we went. The prices overall are a little on the higher side, but I wouldn’t consider it overpriced for what you’re getting.
In conclusion, I would definitely recommend giving this place a shot and I will probably return also.

My most recent experience was a very stark contrast of my initial one, and it was pretty disappointing.
I saw and absolutely loved Ann my first time, but seeing as she was unavailable and I was desperate for a pedicure, I welcomed someone new with open arms. My girlfriend and I called ahead of time to schedule our services, and while my pedicure started promptly at 3:15, my friend didn’t have her toes started on for another 20 minutes. Not cool.
My manicurist was nice, took her time, and had a gentle touch, but ultimately couldn’t deliver when it came to my polish job. I can’t remember the last time someone actually got polish on the tips of my fingers. To make matters worse, she didn’t clean it off until I asked. I actually went home and fixed up a few of the corners myself. Cuticle work was also sub-​par.
My friend’s manicurist on the other hand, made it evident that he wasn’t particularly interested in servicing her. You’d think by now that nail techs would check to make sure their clients don’t speak the same language before talking about them. My friend pointed out a bump in her polish on one of the nails and instead of fixing it, he painted over it and made it worse. I ran my finger over her toes later, and they felt weirdly rough. I took off the polish and repainted her nails for her, and she later had her toes redone somewhere else.
I’m extremely disappointed, considering I thought this would be my new go-​to place, and I recommended it a lot of family and friends. Sarah, the receptionist was mildly sympathetic and ensured she would do her best to make sure we were taken care of next time.
I love the atmosphere and cleanliness of the place, but my last experience was enough to send me running. I’m willing to give it one more try (considering prices aren’t cheap) and I’m hoping Modo will take some of this criticism to heart and fix their practices/​make some changes.

I thought my memory must have exaggerated my pedicure experience here. Nope. I was definitely correct. The pedicures here are very long and luxurious. Tiffany has consistently done an amazing and thorough job. She is very focused and meticulous which is refreshing.
So far I only have two issues which is why this place is getting four stars. Sometime they don’t honor the reservations promptly. I had to wait nearly twenty minutes even though I made a reservation days ago. I also don’t like they always try to upsell you something else. Whether it’s a waxing or a fill in. That gets old.
Aside from these two problems I love this place.

Lovely nail salon In Laurel. Came in on a snowy afternoon just to take a look and ended up getting a pedicure. The salon is having their grand opening special of 20% off their services through the end of December.
Pedicure was one of the besti have ever had their callus treatment works wonders that no other salon I’ve been to have been able to do
Very relaxing and they took their time to make me feel relaxed and to make my feet look great!
I’ll be returning before the holidays for a gel manicure. This place is huge and super clean. Prices are a little higher than other places in the area but it’s totally worth the extra dollars for supurb service
