I was given a pack of Joseph’s Flax Oat Bran & Whole Wheat Pita Bread by a friend because she knows I eat a low carb diet. Once I tried them, I immediately went to the website to find where they were sold so that I could buy more. Turns out that none of the locations locally carried them so I ended up ordering them from the website. The price was reasonable and shipping was only $ 3.99. These pitas only have 8 grams of carbs and 4 grams of dietary fiber which cancels out 4 grams of the carbs! I’ve been using these pitas to make low carb pizza, sausage and egg sandwiches, grilled chicken sandwiches, I’ve toasted them and cut them into strips to dip in hummus and guacamole and for just plain sandwiches! I am so happy to have found these because they are great substitute for regular bread. And they are actually soft believe it or not.
I have to also add that my first order I selected the wrong Item and when I called the company, they showed me that I had selected the wrong item at check out. As a courtesy they sent me my corrected order at no additional charge AND told me to keep the other ones and try them to see if I liked them. I thought that was very cool of them. I shared those with the people at my office. I will def. order from them again if I can’t find these in the store.
