Oyster Bay Seafood Cafe

This place was great, great staff and good food. My wife and I did lunch on our anniversary at this establishment. Grilled snapper is the way to go ! We will definitely the way to go.

I don’t really have any complaints about this place. I was visiting down in Atlanta and was craving seafood. Looking on Unilocal this place was well rated so we decided to try it out!
The waitress was great and the food was tasty! The crab cake stuffed grouper was the best of both worlds. However the winner was the coconut fried shrimp. Super yummy.

Oyster bay is a restaurant mixed with a bar. Seems like the usual by the ocean seafood bar you would take the family on vacation for relatively cheap seafood. I got a dozen raw oysters and Jackie got the lobster ravioli for the main course and we shared the calamari for an appetizer. We both love sea food and oyster bay did not disappoint! Other than the fact I had to spit out a few pieces of shell I loved it! Would recommend to anyone wanting sea food but not wanting to drive all the way to the beach for it!
Side note they also have a selection of craft beers if you are interested in that!

Oh my gosh! Everything was so good. Baked oysters «all the way», fried oyster so juicy sweet, and the whiskey shrimp– oh my gosh. Service was also excellent– thanks Keith.

Pleasantly surprised the Seafood is as good as any on the Gulf. Delicious !!! Collards were a great side and coleslaw was very good. Happy we can get really good seafood near home.

great oysters — LOVE the baked «all the way» oysters best! good selection of beers, great entrees. Very relaxed laid-​back atmosphere.
Prices are great — and the oysters are decent size ! Sick of going to «oyster» bars where the oysters are super small and come with a hefty price. That is definitely not the case here :-)

Would give 5 stars, but need to have some mixed drinks added to the menu — I know they are selling only beer and wine, but mixed drinks would make the place supremely outstanding!

So we went again to dine. Food was great just like for the first time, but when we were eating my guy looked at me, i saw on his face something was wrong. He told me to stand up. This was the moment when i really got scared. Why… ??? And then there was a cockroach right behind me. On the seat of the booth. Yuck! I have goosebump just to think about this nasty animal! Very disappointing. The waiter killed it quickly like everything is alrite. But no!!! How would it be ok to have cockroaches at the place??! It must have something to do with the cleanness of the place. So we are not going to go back there. So sad, i really loved their food.

Our waitress was great. Very attentive. The food was good. We really like the whole vibe of this place. We will be returning soon.

Went last week with co-​workers for lunch and it was great! The crab soup was delicious and the fish taco was awesome. There is also something to be said when the restaurant already has a huge bottle of Tabasco waiting on the table rather then you having to ask for it! That is how seafood is done! I also ordered conch fritters so my co-​workers could try them for the first time (why doesn’t all of America know and love these already??) and they really enjoyed them. We will definitely go back!

I hate to give a good review because it will make it more crowded. Oh well I have eaten many items on their menu and everything was terrific. They really know how to prepare seafood! Oyster Bay is is a great place to eat.

I think I found my new favorite spot. I’ve been wondering why this. little gem is always crowded NOW I KNOW!!! Me and boyfriend decided to come here for date night. This is another one of those restaurants I’ve been passing by for some time now. And this time I’m glad we pick this place to come too for a late night belly buster.
This is a fantastic lil spot for you to get some gooodd fish and chips. And when I say the batter on their fish is so good. I don’t know what it consists of, but it is delicious on the seafood. Two of my favorites dishes when I visit, is the crab soup and the several different styles of oysters including raw. So far I have visited 3 more times sense my first check in.
Not only is the food so far is fantastic, the staff is awesome. You better believe I am going to wear this place out.

Came here in February to treat my little cousin to a birthday lunch. The staff was very nice and accommodating and the food was great. The only thing I didn’t appreciate was the table next to us giving me and my cousin looks and it made us feel uncomfortable. But that has nothing to do with the restaurant. Just some rude people that ate their at the same time. I’m never in that area of town but I would eat there again if I was!

We did a quick couples outing and loved this place! Food was amazing! Service was excellent too! Defiantly making plans to return soon!

Really enjoy my meals here. MUCH better seafood than some frozen food chain like Red Lobster. My husband and I come often. I also meet girlfriends for dinner every so often.
My only complaint is the service is just kinda ok. Never had bad service. Just always borderline ok. The servers don’t seem really enthused to be there. It could be a much better experience if the servers were just a little more friendly.

Best seafood in Lawrenceville! Nestled in the square, this cute little place reminds me the places you find in Florida right on the beach. The calamari is delicious and the hush puppies are on point. Try the she crab soup and you’ll swear you’re on vacation.

So I’m new to the area, from San Antonio, but u spent a few years active duty in Louisiana. I saw this place on Unilocal,the reviews screamed go, and you guys did not disappoint !
The service is courteous and the atmosphere is very relaxed. It made me skeptical about how the food would taste since it was such a kick back environment. I associate seafood with prim and trim. Big mistake, this place is AWESOME. The seafood dip I don’t recall the name on the menu, delicious! Real crab meat.
The kicker? We ordered American entrees lol. The ribs were meaty and delicious. Not tough, tender, and their sauce brings the flare. The burgers were a mile high with fresh ingredients, even the kid burger for my 2 year old was almost the size of his head lol. Great place, good food.

Oh my gosh! This is the cutest and coolest place in lawrenceville :) the guys are so nice and provide excellent service! Food was on point!
But I didn’t like the desert as much seems like the cake I had (red velvet cheesecake) was from a day prior or not stored properly.

Great oysters. P boy good. Coleslaw a surprise. Nice music. Worth the trip.

Love Oyster Bay! Food is always yummy! Especially the Apple Pie. I always get the Salmon with Crab sauce. I had The conch frittas for the first time and they were sooo good!

The Oyster Bay Seafood Café serves fresh food! This is really important when it comes to seafood. I have been here a few times. My most recent visit was Sunday, November 29^th. I love, love, love the conch fritters. They remind me of the conch fritters I ate while on vacation in the Grand Cayman Islands. The fish tacos are good and filling, but they are not served with a sauce. A sauce or remoulade would really set the tacos off!
Bonus: You can see a TV from any table in the restaurant. So, this is a good place to go watch sports.

Food is really good! Cooks in back are really cool! Waitress we have had the few times we’ve been in could use some personality.

Oysters are good for a local spot. I ordered shrimp once, but it wasn’t so great. Stick to the oysters and you’re good to go. Our service hasn’t been bad. We have been going there for 3 years now. Oysters and beer.

No complaints! My mother and I came on a Saturday night around 6 expecting it to be busy, but we were seated right away. Our waiter, Mark?, was very outgoing and
very attentive. Service was prompt. We received everything within about 8 minutes. Food was filling and delicious, hope to come back soon! Yum!

We always had to drive into the city or somewhere else to get good oyster. Luckily we have found someplace closer to home. Oyster Bay Seafood.
Located in the heart of downtown Lawrenceville, this rustic cool chilled laid back restaurant is located in a nice beautiful area.
We had the chance to order 2 dozen of raw oysters, 1 dozen of the steamed, 1 dozen of the baked and ½ a dozen of the fried oysters. One more thing a basket of calamari. It’s was good for the price we paid.
I would recommend the Oyster Bar to all my friends and followers to go try it out. You will not be disappointed. Beautiful and outgoing staff. I will surely be back. Again my friends, eat and be happy.

OK. What’s going on? Here we are back to mediocrity. This has happened at least one other time.
I have been back too since my other/​last review and it had gotten good again. Now what?
We were here last weekend. It was not the same. So no. That means, it was not as good. It really wasn’t that good at all.
It was immediately apparent. The fry batter on the oysters didn’t match that on the shrimp or the fish. The oysters taste? Ehh… Not that good. The shrimp? Where did the tails go? Why are they not tasting quite the same? The good news? The fish filet was still pretty good but I bet it’s still farm raised…
I don’t know if this is an owner, manager, or food source issue; but they need to maintain the better of them, whatever it is.
I like this place because of its ocean-​side atmosphere and the food has generally been good.
It was OK at best this most recent time. What gives? Are they now trying to compete with Red Lobster or just see how average they can get before anyone really notices? Ehhh… I noticed.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon. I ordered a Bacon Shrimp Po Boy. While my girlfriend ordered Fish & Chips. Delicious! Delicious! Delicious! My first time EVER trying a Po Boy and I must say it’s a good sandwich! We were waited on by Chelsea. Great! and friendly service. Definitely coming back and I recommend anyone in the area to check this place out. Yummy seafood for a descent price. I love their old school music selection that they played too.

Stopped in for lunch on a Wednesday just because and let’s just say that may have been the best decision I made all day. The place seems and feels kind of dive bar like, but it really isn’t. The entire staff speaks as you walk in and once you’re seated (& eating) they all continue to speak and ask about your experience and day. Now on to the food — I had a Rastafari beer (wasn’t a fan) and a dozen of baked oysters which were SO good. I had a hard time eating all 12 as they are stuffed with Parmesan cheese, bacon «bits», jalapeños & garlic. Talk about divine. I’ll definitely return here. Ps only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because the bar is kind of limited to local beers and wines ie no red stripe, my fav.

I am reticent to give a bad review for any location, preferring instead to focus on my positive experiences, but this dining experience was just not good. I ordered the New York strip and, as always, I ask for it medium rare. Now, as this is arguably the best way to cook the strip, I didn’t think this would be a controversial decision, but I get it back well-​done. Literally hot and grey to the core. Literally ruined. This is one of the only times I have sent food back, but this was inedible. 15 minutes later I get back my replacement steak. Now it is a little less than rare, but it is unseasoned.
I haven’t been back since, but I’ve been to Dominic’s, McCray’s, and Local Republic 4 – 5 times each in the meantime.
I’ll only come back here if someone else is paying. Hopefully I can update my review then.

Great first experience! Went with the bf cause we were seriously craving some seafood like the one we had in Florida. Granted we went before the dinner rush on a Saturday so were welcomed and seated quickly. Btw, take time to admire the interior, may look tacky but can keep you distracted. Service was friendly and quick. We both got the fried shrimp and oysters with fries and our own side. Seriously, I could’ve eaten the fries dipped in the cocktail sauce all day and been completely satisfied. Might not look a lot but was just enough for little ol’ me. Only downside was we were seated directly next to the server station but that didn’t disrupt our experience at all. Will definitely come back when the 5 hour drive to Florida isn’t convenient!

I have eaten at Oyster bay 2 times before the fateful Father’s day 2015 supper. We arrived around 6:30 and the service was OK-​ish. Considering that Father’s day is one of those busy days in the foodservice industry, and having served my way through college, I tend to be forgiving of the wait staff.
Our order took much longer than usual, about 45 minutes. (except for my 3 year old’s meal, which was served about 20 minutes after we ordered, so we had a child that was ready to leave before any of the entrees arrived). I ordered the daily special, a crab-​crusted grouper entrée. However, I was served a piece of fish with the restaurant’s «crab» dip on top. The dip contained very little actual rcab and there was nothing crusty about it. And the coup de grâce, the crab dip on top was cold (ok room temperature, but still gross).
The cold food was a theme for every meal at our table. My wife’s lobster ravioli was served with a cold white sauce, as was my father’s meal. I sent my «crab-​crusted» grouper back and told them not to bother making anything else. My wife ate less than half of the ravioli before she began to feel gross.
I believe that their steam table wasn’t working and either the kitchen staff was unaware or they were using the warming lamps to «reheat» the sauces & dips because the very top of the sauced food was warmish, but 1 mm deep the sauces were room temperature or colder.
The restaurant cut the price of the ravioli and removed the grouper from the bill, as they should have, but we’re not going back again.

Welcomed in with a smile, our waiter was fun friendly and in good spirits for it being the end of the day on father’s day. Ordered fried green tomatoes, they were so so about average. When our dinner came it all looked great but mine was not, I had to spit it out, when the waiter came I told him I just could not eat it, he immediately picked up my plate and said what else can I get you, I ordered fish and shrimp basket and it was out of this world good. We ordered the banana cheese cake sunday and it was wonderful. The waitstaff really impressed me they treated my 8 year old son like a customer and not just a kid. We will be back.

Visited oyster bay yesterday during lunch. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the crab dip for an appetizer, which was very tasty. It had the right amount of crab! I had the Bimini grilled grouper with asparagus. The fish was cooked perfectly and the veggie was delicious.
The rest of our group enjoyed their food too.
Will definitely be back. Especially for their Tuesday and Wednesday specials.

Outrageous… I finally ventured and I wasn’t disappointed. Keith was the best waiter with great recommendations. The baked oysters topped with the horseradish and the works… Wow. The seafood gumbo so good, I was in heaven. My main course was talapia stuffed with crab cake covered with lobster bisque… ahhhh. The keylime pie ohhh yeah, nice topper. The place is fun, clean and well priced. Remember it’s seafood… People!
