McCarthy Collision Center of Lee’s Summit

McCarthy has ruined me for all other car buying experiences in the future. Never would I have thought that shopping and choosing a car could be as easy as it was for me a few weeks ago! Steve Elliott found me the perfect car for what I needed. He listened to what I was looking for in performance, gas mileage, size, price range, and amenities, and found the perfect fit for my budget and my lifestyle. He took extra time to explain the ins and outs of the car, the tech extras, and was patient while I asked many questions about the buying process and the car itself. Since this was my first car buying experience, I had many, and he answered every single one patiently & fully. I’m definitely recommending McCarthy & Steve Elliot to anyone in the market for buying a car.

I was recently shopping for a new car and this was by far the most helpful dealership I went to. They gave a bottom line price the first time I came in and were the easiest people to work with out of the five dealerships I visited. I worked with Quentin & Steve in the sales department and Chase in their finance department and they were all very helpful. I would highly recommend buying a car from McCarthy Chevrolet Lee’s Summit.

We bought a new Suburban here a little over a year ago. We recently had some aftermarket parts put on and oil change and tire rotation. Basic work, the work was done quickly and other then price over 500.00 for basic maintenance and a bug shield the actual service was good. So I have been having issues with my farm truck, the brakes. I replaced the master cylinder, went through the brake lines and everything dealing with brakes. I’m not a mechanic, but know the basics. Well I was still having issues so thought I would take it to the dealership. I thought well it’s a 1993 Silverado, if I can’t fix it surely the dealership will. So dropped it off to Ryan in the service department. After a couple days didn’t hear from him so called Ryan. Ryan said it looks like it’s a reman master cylinder and my tech thinks that’s what it is. Despite the fact I had to call him to learn this I said ok could be, but if that’s not it will I get a price break since the master cylinder that’s on it is 2 days old? He said well let me have the tech go through it again to be positive that’s what it is. I said ok. Well at this point I was confused by lack of interest in communicating to me or knowledge of what to do. So I drove by the dealership a couple days later and saw truck sitting in same spot parked at a weird angle in the parking spot where it was last time I saw it. I called Ryan for a update and he says it might go in that day or tomorrow, but tech hasn’t been able to look at it. So a week goes by, my wife calls for a update. Ryan says he took the truck out for a test drive and has told the tech what he found and the tech has it in the shop right now looking at it. My wife calls and tells me what’s going on so I drive by. The truck is still sitting in the same parking spot sitting at same angle? I went in and told them I will take it somewhere else. Needless to say we won’t be back. As I was leaving I relayed info to another service personnel and did get a apology call from Josh. Just a bad look for a «professional» dealership and a perfect example of why you hear not to take your vehicles to a dealership to get worked on.
