I found this place on Unilocal and I am glad I went there today! Kevin was very nice and the smog check was done faster than I thought.

Great place. To the person who was mad, there is an expensive tool that diagnoses why your car failed and of course they charge to check it. This place has been around since before I was born and there is a reason they are still in business.

I recently moved to San Diego from Los Angeles and was in need of a smog check. I stumbled upon Smog or Tune and decided to give them a call. The owner, Kevin, answered the phone around 5:20pm. I asked him if I could stop by in 15 minutes on my way home from work. He said that would be fine. They close at 6pm so the fact that he was willing to take me last minute before they closed was great customer service.
Kevin did NOT overcharge me, he worked quickly and effectively, was very friendly, easy to talk to, and clearly knew what he was doing. I highly recommend Smog or Tune with Kevin!

We have been going here for at least 15 years! Not sure why the negative reviews but Kevin has always been extremely professionsl, trustworthy and courteous. Not sure where these negative comments are coming from, must have had a bad day. You guys are the best !

Glad I didn’t read the last review before going here. I was looking for a place to do the smog on my car. I drove by this place and it didn’t look too busy. The man was very friendly, very professional. He quickly set up the smog test and I was probably out of there in 20 minutes. It came out to $ 50 dollars total. He did inform me of something the car needed fixed, gave me an estimate and I was on my way. No pressure to have them fix the car. I was really pleased and I know I will keep taking the car there for the smog test. Great customer service, very speedy service. In and out of there quickly. Happy customer right here :)

I have been going somewhere else for years and the price has climbed there so I decided to try this place. I printed a coupon off the internet when I searched California smog test Lemon Grove. I had my vehicle tested within a half hour on a Saturday the Technician Norman was friendly with me and the customer before me was treated the same way. The price was less then i have been paying the last few years. I will return in a week to have one of my other cars tested. if that goes well it will become my test spot. I have six vehicles in the family that require tests so I understand the process but they still explained the procedure. California’s Required smog tests suck but ths place was at least relaxed and painless.

This place was HORRIBLE!!! Don’t ever bring your car here for a smog check! RIP OFF!!!
Being from Oregon I am clueless when it comes to smog checks, so I called and asked some questions… extremely rude customer service and an I-don’t-care attitude immediately made me think calling was a mistake! I asked what happens when your vehicle fails a test… the man on the phone answered with, «Then it fails.»
WOW THANK YOU CAPTAIN OBVIOUS!!! Then he proceeded to tell me they wouldn’t tell you what is wrong with it or why it failed until they run a diagnostic and charge you $ 150 for it!!! NO THANK YOU!!!
Like I said, don’t come here unless you enjoy burning your money!
