History

Established in 1991.

TJ’s Pizza began in 1991 at 1206 W. Hickory St., Denton next to the University of North Texas. The restaurant evolved into a bar known as Texas Jive in the front facing the street and the TJ’s Pizza kitchen in the back. Good food and great music flowed from this business pairing to the patrons of the eclectic Fry Street scene. The forces of «progress» brought the party to an end during the summer of 2007 when the area was razed to make way for future development. TJ’s Pizza continues its legacy for great food in Denton and now Lewisville with the opening of its second location 24 years later from its original conception.
