Since 1966, Sheehan Buick/​Pontiac/​GMC has been a fixture in Broward County, Florida and the Sheehan name is one that customers have come to know and trust. Recognized throughout South Florida for its outstanding customer satisfaction, excellent pricing and top quality service, Sheehan Buick/​Pontiac/​GMC was founded by Sherwood Sheehan, a veteran auto dealer who began his career in 1946, selling Packards in Buffalo, N.Y.

A pilot in WW II known as «The Chief», Sherwood Sheehan focused his new Florida dealership in Lighthouse Point on honesty and ensuring that customers got the best value for their money.

Today, 43 years after it first opened, Sheehan is still at the same Lighthouse Point location and still offers customers great prices, great service and great selection. Providing full service with a complete service center, body shop, and used vehicle facility.

Walk into Sheehan Autoplex in Lighthouse Point and you’ll find Tom Sheehan’s office right there next to the customer waiting area. Chances are even better you’ll find Tom Sheehan in there, with his office door wide open. Tom’s work ethic is legendary.

During his long career in the auto business, Tom Sheehan has learned that customers come first and he makes it a point to be accessible and listen to them. Its a lesson he learned growing up in what has always been the family business.

Sheehan got his first job in the automotive industry sweeping the floors and washing cars at his father’s dealership in Buffalo, N.Y. That was 52 years ago when he was still in elementry school.

Over the years, Tom has led his dealership through times of great growth and transition, helping to build the number one, most effective Buick/​Pontiac/​GMC sales team in the Southeast. Under his leadership, Sheehan Buick/​Pontiac/​GMC won the Jack Smith Leadership Award from General Motors multiple times.

I am 50 years old and as you can imagine have purchased and leased many cars.
I just leased a Buick Encore at Sheehan Buick, my experience was first class from my sales man to managers down to the finance department. They had one goal in mind to take care of my needs. No hassle, no stress just easy and fun. Never have I had a more professional experience .
I would recommend this experience to everyone not to mention how much I Love my new Buick.

This is actually a review for Sheehan Autoplex, across the street from the GMC dealer. I am an out of state buyer and flew almost 1000 miles from TN to pick up a vehicle. It took a little more time and there was some slight confusion with the salesman, but the manager, Dana Fishbein, went above and beyond to make the deal right. Because of the confusion, he reduced the price of the vehicle and even reimbursed me for my travel. Overall I was treated very fairly and was very happy with the transaction. I will do business with them again.

Overall I was underwhelmed. This was my 3rd trip to your shop because it is close to my home. The first two times I felt as thoug you really had no interest in my business, acted like I was bothering you guys, interrupting your day or something. Finally this time the advisor was friendly although it took about 10 minutes before I was acknowledged by anyone. In fact the younger advisor look d right at me & picked up the phone & made a call. Plus no car wash? I wasn’t impressed with Sheehan.

The facility itself is clean and the staff friendly. However the work done was poor. Front end alignment was really off, car was pulling to one side and steering juddering. Had to take the car back and waste another 3 hours for it to be put right. Even calling to get an appointment for the fix was a problem: four phone messages and no returned call. Finally called through to the office and they made an appointment for me. THEN got a call back from Service Dept telling me the appointment was made for 30 minutes before the shop opens. Very unhappy.

I custom ordered my new daily driver from Sheehan on Thanksgiving week. Several of the options were on constraint and warned it would take around 8 weeks. The GM kept in touch with us by email per my request thru out the process.
The car arrived just after New Years, and was delivered exactly as I requested it. I was able to remove the plastics myself and detail for the 1st time. A ceramic coating helped protect paint and amp up the gloss and reflection.
This is the third car my wife and I have purchased from Sheehan. The first one was the just after graduating from HS. While my father was in the business for 30+ years with Buick, this dealership has been fair and helpful and tried to treat us like family. Only dad did it better …

We originally went to Sheehan GMC because the owner does a lot of charitable work in the community and with the Exchange Club, so we figured we would give him the business but maybe pay a little more. My wife wanted a GMC Acadia with specific options. Our salesman, John, was able to find exactly what we wanted and then when we gave him the price range we wanted to be in from seeing what other dealers were asking, they beat it. He also threw in a trailer hitch, cargo net and floor mats that we requested! What made the purchase great was that we just had our 2nd child and instead of going to the dealership to sign the papers and pick up the car with 2 kids, they delivered it spotlessly detailed to our house. We did all of the paperwork in our kitchen and then they showed us how everything worked on the car. I have never had a car buying experience like that, along with no pressure or attempts to sell you ad-​ons at signing. Thanks Sheehan!

We just leased a 2016 Verano. I’ve been leasing (in California where we lived) for about 30 years and I’ve never had a smoother transaction than this one with our sales person, Yad Aflalo and sales manager Mark. Highly recommend this dealership for GM, Buick etc. great staff, got the deal we wanted at the price we wanted with the extras we wanted, all hassle free. The Finance Manager, Fred is top notch. I’m used to being grilled by them (in L.A.) but this was so smooth and fast, I couldn’t believe it. Even if you’re not buying/​leasing, stop in, say hi and tell Yad and Mark that Ben says hi.

Let me preface by me hating car dealerships, I hate everything about the process, they always make promises and never keep them, there is always a hidden agenda.
Well closing on a new Arcadia Denali yesterday I have to say that it was one of the smoothest transactions I ever had. From my sales person Jeff, who negotiated with me on the phone and when I arrived had everything ready exactly as promised, to the Finance Director Matt, who detailed everything for me, while doing it in a quick and efficient matter, to finally the unbeatable price they got me which beat all other dealerships around.

I custom ordered a 2015 2500 HD Denali from Barry at Sheehan GMC. First of all, Barry is fantastic. He answered every question and when he wasn’t sure of an answer, he rapidly pursued the solution. I now have 5,000 miles on my truck. Hector in the Service department is also amazing. They not only serviced my truck within an hour, but they also washed it. And. The Sevice and the wash was FREE. Well-​included in the purchase price probably. But servicing is provided free of charge for TWO YEARS. Oil, filters and DEF !
The Owner, Tom Sheehan, is a very professional, personable and engaging man. His father started the dealership over 60 years ago and Tom would make his father proud with the way the dealership continues under his Son’s tutelage!
That’s the dealership. The truck on the other hand is absolutely the best vehicle that I have ever owned. But that’s another story.

I bought my truck at Sheehan about 5 years ago; starting with that transaction, which went well and efficiently, Sheehan’s mechanics are the only guys who have been under the hood.
Every time I’ve brought my Sierra there for service, they have given me a good, honest list of what needs to be done now, soon, and next time. It helps with budgeting.
I went in for a major 130k mile service early July, they inspected everything and found the cause of a a few things that I had been hearing whilst driving. They also found a nail in the inside sidewall of one of my rear tires, I wanted to see the tread left on the rear tires to decide wether to replace one or both, Brian, my service guy, offered to text me some photos so I didn’t have to drive back over there. Worked great, I was able to make an informed decision and get the work done.
They finished with everything right when they said they would and when I picked up the truck I was pleasantly surprised to see that that they washed and vacuumed it, looked great.

I have never been treated better than I have at Sheehan Buick GMC. One year after purchase my salesman Gregg Benedict still cares and is willing to help if I have questions or an issue. My service advisor Mark Aponalski could not be kinder or more efficient in getting my car serviced. Neither man has ever pushed me or over-​sold me things I do not need.
I’ve bought two cars from Sheehan and can see a third in my future.

Gave me less than expected for my car then sold me a cheap car but then tacked on 30% in BS fees. I should have walked. I’ll never go back.
Attempts to communicate with them while waiting for the check from them for the car I sold them were largely ignored. Complaints about the «deal» I ended up with were completely ignored.

Four Stars for Gene Long’s Salesmanship! 2 for Service!
Sales:
Gene Long is fantastic! Purchased our first family SUV– had questions galore and was curious about every feature. We explored every possible SUV option on the market and Gene sold us on the comfort, luxury and features of the Buick Enclave. Very pleased with our purchase. Gene has been great since too!
Service:
Very Professional and Very Good Intentions. However, sometimes things just don’t work as they should. I have been on the receiving end of this experience twice.
Case in point:
I purchased a brand new Mommy SUV from here just before our baby was born (eight days to be precise). I brought the car home and the first time we pulled the lever to flip the seats flat, a cosmetic piece of plastic popped off. I immediately called to alert them and they promised to repair it when I brought the car in a few days later.
Visit 1: When I brought the car in, they popped it back into place and sent me on my way. It came off hours later.
Visit 2: they claimed they added new clips to hold the item in place and it would be fine. Guess what? Popped off again. My newborn, who hated the car, screamed the whole time.
Visit 3: they asked me to come in so they could replace the part. I arrived and then they told me they had to order it. They looked at the part, got some code and placed the order. Useless visit. My one week old was miserable the entire time — screamed during the entire 20 minute drive, couldn’t nap while we waited and wailed the way home. I stopped a few times to calm him down, turning the 40 min drive into a 2 hour round trip.
Visit 4: the part was in! A barrage of phone calls beckoning me to return to fix the part. My voicemail seemed full every time I looked due to their calls. I admit, I didn’t want to drive with my now one month old babe, but finally did when babe took a nap in the car to minimize his experience. He was still stressed. Guess what? They ordered the WRONG PART. I was LIVID! How was this possible?!? I brought the car in, they looked at the part and still ordered the wrong one.
Needless to say I refuse to return.

When I decided I wanted to buy a new car I was excited at first but knew I would dread the process of dealing with a car salesman! After doing my research I knew the exact car I wanted and how much I wanted to pay for it. The first Buick dealership I visited (In Brickell) I had a horrible experience with a salesman trying to force me to buying a car that I didn’t want. So I decided to drive an hour to this dealership.
Before arriving here I called to make sure the particular vehicle I wanted was still on their lot and it was but the sales person I spoke with was extremely pushy over the phone so I knew right away I didn’t want to deal with him. I visited their website and noticed they has a female sales person and so when I went I decided to ask for her (I went alone btw) and I couldn’t be more satisfied with the process Jannell was extremely patient with me, I didn’t feel pressured about anything and I walked out with my new baby within a few hours. The guys in finance explained everything thoroughly and answered all of my questions. I couldn’t be more happy with my experience here.
P.s it always helps to know what you want, how much you want to pay over all, (NOT just monthly) and how much your willing to accept for your trade in if your trading a car in. But then again what do I know, I’m just a girl with a brand new totally awesome car!
