My pool sweep booster pump just went out… and I thought I would reach out to Unilocal to see if I could find a good company to help me out. I came across Joel at Unity Pools.

My son was having his first birthday swim party for his kindergarten buddies on a slightly cold Saturday and our heater was out. I called a few places but couldn’t get anyone to come out on short notice because it was the start of pool season. Found Joel on Unilocal and called him. The reviews are accurate. He’s professional, straightforward and does an awesome job. Even followed up to see how the heater was running. My son had a great swim party and the pool was like bath water. :) kids had a great time!

Okay, what can I say. I let it go. Yep, after 10 years as a pool owner I got really busy and let my pool go from beautiful blue, to ugly green! So I gave Unity Pools a call to see if he could make it blue before the temperature starts to rise. It has been a couple of days and my pool is beautiful BLUE again! Thanks Joel for making it happen! Now it’s time to get to the garden!

Unity Pools has been servicing our pool for over a year. The pool pump is over 20 years old and was starting to fail. We were given two options, repair the old pump or fork out the $$ for a new pump :(The owner Joel, recommended replacing it with a new variable speed pump. He told us that it would be much more efficient than the old pump and would most likely lower our Monthly PGE bill. Plus, at the time PGE was offering a rebate. We were concerned because a new pump was over $ 1000 dollars! Well, we decided to go with the new one. It’s been two months. Not only did we get a $ 100 rebate back from PGE but out monthly PGE bill has dropped about $ 137 per month!!! Thank you Unity Pools for your expertise and your quality care to your customers!

Amazing service! Joel is running a great company; I love that is it family owned too!

So, I got to know the owner Joel because he is my neighbors’ brother. At the same time I was putting in a pool/​pond in my backyard, trying to complete my backyard for my wedding that was taking place there a couple months later. As the wedding drew near the pool started getting full of algae and looking nasty and the pump was getting clogged, limiting the amount the pump was pushing out. Things only got a little messier b/​c my pool is a salt water system that I was under the impression would not need chlorine or really many chemicals. The salt water generator is fairly expensive and operating it at incorrect levels could damage it (as I read in the manual which made me a little more weary). So as a more of a diy type of a guy, I went to a pool place and bought all the chemicals and over $ 100 later I added them, but they did nothing.
With a month till the wedding I saw Joel and asked him to take a look at my mosquito project. My salt water generator light was blinking for service and I was worried that it would be damaged. Joel researched the particular model of salt water generator and came multiple times within a couple weeks and he got it looking perfect and the waterfall flowing full.
You think that would be enough to have Joel be our pool technician but I thought the pool would be balanced and I could stay on top of it and the pool shouldn’t be that bad… wrong. A couple months later it started developing discoloration again and after testing it and seeing the salt water generator blinking again; I figured I should contact Joel.
I couldn’t be happier with Joel servicing our pool now, and from the personal relationship I have with Joel he is a really nice guy and I would trust with anything. In general, I like supporting small businesses for multiple reasons but not if that means sacrificing cost. Unity Pools is top notch and it is great to get knowledgeable and friendly service combined with affordable prices.

Joel is awesome and knowledgeable. Very fair prices and he does a great job. Our pool always looks so good after he’s done his weekly check.

I really had no idea what I was getting into when I moved into a house with a pool. I am a do-​it-​yourself sort of guy and thought keeping the chemicals balanced and pumps operational would be a piece of cake. I was totally wrong. For about 6 months my pool cycled between clearish, cloudy and down right scary. I couldn’t believe how many expensive chemicals I was dumping in, with no results. Anyway, I finally decided to get professional help when I returned from a 3 day vacation and the pool was velvety green.
I have been very impressed with thier professionalism, and how genuinely friendly they are. Unity Pools is a family business, and it shows in their awesome customer service. I especially like that the owner of the company (Joel) is actually the one who takes care of my pool and equipment. I feel like he really cares about my pool and my satisfaction as a customer.
A few weeks ago I had a question about the timer on my pump. When I called, Joel answered the phone almost immediately. As we get closer to the summer months, it is nice to know he is available, and easy to reach.
