Call2Inspect

Similar to others, Call2Inpsect was recommended to us by our realtor, and they were price competitive ($ 579 for an inspection + radon test), so we decided to use them to inspect a home we were under contract with. While we found their inspector (Jason) to be courteous and professional, he unfortunately missed a major moisture issue in the crawl space of the home in his inspection report. We thus proceeded with the purchase of the home without raising this issue with the seller. Since that time, after becoming suspicious of moisture in the crawl space, we have consulted with three companies. All three confirmed the presence of puddles of water and excessive humidity in the crawl space and the need to address these issues to prevent serious structural issues with the home. Their quotes range from $ 11,000−15,000. With the quotes in hand, we reached back out to our inspector to see what, if anything, they could do to help us out. After all, Call2Inspect’s website claims, «Your satisfaction is guaranteed.» Our inspector relayed our concerns to the president of the company, Dave Roos, who promptly replied and initially offered some advice. However, in the end, he claimed we should have sought out the advice of experts earlier and cited their fine print concerning their limits of liability. He simply ignored my e-​mails asking if they would help cover any of the repair expenses or perhaps refund the cost of the inspection. Clearly, Call2Inspect’s customer satisfaction is not guaranteed, as their website would make you believe. With regard to the interpersonal touch, there wasn’t even a, «sorry to hear about your problems.» Unfortunately, given our experience, we cannot recommend Call2Inpsect.

We scheduled an inspection for a home we were purchasing and Dave came out and was very thorough and polite informing us along the way throughout the whole process.
I would definitely recommend them to anyone scheduling an inspection.

This company was recommended by our realtor. The inspector was quick to schedule, on time, super polite/​friendly, and provided us with a folder of helpful information on what he was going to look for etc. We’ve been through the process before so we knew it was the usual, but if you’re new to the process of a home inspection it could be a real lifeline.
They’ll always tell you not to bring kids to an inspection. The reality is you usually have to. Ours was on a Saturday and he was so nice to the kids and kind to us. I was worried the inspector would view them as a nuisance or be impatient with us when we had to attend to them (1 year old and a 3 year old), but I worried for nothing. He is a parent himself and totally understood.
Finally, they made it super easy to pay. You can write a check at the time if you remember your checkbook, we did not. He emailed us the inspection and then we could pay via credit card online to receive it. Super easy.

Dave was very thorough. I was impressed with his knowledge, experience and attention to detail in his analysis.

Dave did an amazing job! He was able to squeeze us in only two days after going under contract because we were on a tight close time frame and did a great job! He was not rushed and stayed as long as we needed to answer any questions. He also followed up with us after the inspection on some questions that came up days after the inspection! We used Call2Inspect for a home buyers’ inspection. We found them with a quick search — the exceptional reviews made it an easy choice. Their front desk was courteous and helpful when I called — and was able to hold a time for me until I could get confirmation from the sellers several hours later.
Dave arrived early to the appointment, and he was able to get set up before I even arrived! He explained in great detail what he would be doing, and gave me a «homeowner’s manual» which has information about all the major parts of a home, recommended maintenance schedules, support numbers for questions, and a section for taking notes during the inspection. Dave walked my wife and I through each section of his inspection as he performed it — showed us what he was looking for — explained deficiencies and things to watch for in the future. He very patiently answered the numerous questions from me, my wife, and the rep from our Realtor.
Dave found several very expensive problems with the property and showed us exactly what he was talking about and why it was important. We ultimately cancelled our contract to buy the house when the seller was unwilling to adequately address our concerns.
