History

Established in 1985.

ACP Composites, originally Aerospace Composite Products, was founded in 1985 by husband and wife team, George and Barbara Sparr. George had a career as an engineer in the aerospace industry and wanted to parlay his knowledge of composite products into their own distribution company.

In the beginning, the company was operated out of their garage and catered to the hobby industry. Over the years the company grew and expanded; landing in Northern California, first in San Leandro then to Livermore. The focus of the business shifted from composites distribution to custom composites manufacturing. Today, over 70% of the business is manufacturing primarily for the medical and aerospace industries, including research and development.
