First Street Alehouse

So my girlfriend and I ate here on 2÷15÷16 we had waited for ever just for our order. Then when it does get to our table, the food was not even hot! She ordered chicken strips they were soggy and not slightly crunchy. My fries were cold and the soda was flat! Now I know, not to compete here again…

Great location and atmosphere. We ate outside which was really nice but the inside of the restaurant is decorated super neat too! Our server was extremely helpful and fun, she definitely made the experience that much better. We both got burgers and they were good. Garlic fries are super good w/​ranch!!! Prices are fair, better than I expected. Great music too! All in all a very fun place to go, we plan on coming back :)

Love there burgers and it is a great place to grab a beer !
But they have a weird to go system. They open at 8:30am on Sunday’s, I called an order to go around 9:30am and they said they couldn’t put the order in until 11am.
Will be back to dine in but don’t call to go before 11!

I had an amazing guacamole burger Good times with co-​workers and a fabulous waiter named Neil. You’ve got to try this place. Good food in beautiful downtown Livermore. For the best time today on the patio on a nice night. Thanks Neil you were great

Chicken sandwich was alright, bbq wings were great, and the fish sticks were awesome. Great friendly bar tender, Dans the man, and I’m going to give a five star because they include a lolly pop. Gangsta. I will be back. Nice setting as well!

Great tap selection, I am not a huge beer drinker but there is always at least two or three beers on tap that I can enjoy. (I often only have one choice that I would like at most places) My husband loves beer and there is always a few that he likes on tap as well. This is a fun place to meet friends for a drink, and you can usually find a place at the bar or out back if the restaurant is full. The service is good, nothing special but they check in on you at least a few times, even when it’s really busy.
The food is another story. Just basic food you’d expect, burgers, salads, fries etc. Selection is fine but the execution is awful. If you want any sort of substitution, it will probably not happen. Much of the food is greasy and my husband and I have felt sick after eating here on several occasions. We’ve stopped in for a beer and a basket of fries and still not felt well, maybe it’s the type of oil they use, not sure.
I would recommend this place for a beer or two, fun place to hang out.

Went back here maybe a year later and my experience with the staff, the food and the wine was much better. This is a reason why you should sometimes give a place another try because maybe it’s just an off day or night for them. I have actually been back a few times and really enjoy the atmosphere. It can be a bit loud and crowded but that’s because it’s a popular venue.
Try it out, you won’t be disappointed although if it’s a busy night, you may have to wait for a bit for a table. I usually find a seat at the bar — more interesting because you’re sure to find pleasant conversation with a neighbor!

I have to say this place had a great selection of beers. After a day of grapes (wine), decided to grab some beers. Kinda traditionally IPA heavy, but had some stellar other stuff as well.
A bit of a wait on a weekend evening which is reasonable. Spacious inside and great pationout front for the warmer eves.
The food looked good, I’d say it was a notch above traditional bar quality food but not anything that I’d go crazy over. But, if you want something fried or a bit greasy, it hits the spot.
Great for small groups or a casual time with a friend.

First Street Ale House is located in the heart of downtown Livermore. If you are passing through on the 580 freeway take first street exit and go south a few miles until you reach downtown. The bar/​restaurant will be on your left hand side.
Whenever I visit family in Livermore we always make a point to go eat here. They have an amazing beer selection on tap and in cans. If you were ever wishing to see the largest beer can display you found the place! The beers they serve on tap are a blend of local craft brew selections with some standard Sam Adams and Sierra Nevada.
We went for Saturday brunch. It’s an all you can eat for about $ 13.00. The selections were great! Everything was fresh and the serving temperature was on point. Definitely returning next time I am back in Livermore visiting my brother.

Very loud and seated near an obnoxious party. Food was cold and sides we ordered were forgotten. I’ll go back for drinks but not for food.

Payton was our waitress tonight and made our dinning experience delightful being friendly, helpful and quick. Not much of a wait for the beers. My Thai steak salad and hubby’s chick, avocado, bacon swd great but the beer battered fries the best. Yummmmmmy

This place is yummy! My friend and I were taken here for our surprise birthday dinner! The moment I walked in I knew it would be yummy! The place was packed and everyone seemed to enjoy their meal. I passed a few tables and the fries & hamburgers caught my eye!
Service: great host with serving and dealing with 12 people! Orders came in quick along with our drinks.
Food: yummy! The burgers were huge and juicy! I should of shared with my bf! We also ordered the shrimp appetizer which was delicious! I would definitely order this again. They had this green/​white sauce for the fries, I really loved it!!!
Come and check this place out. If you’re a beer person this would be a good place!

Great place to have some food and a drink. Great bar/​casual environment an awesome place to go if you want to grab some bar style food and enjoy a variety of different beers and wines that they have here in stock highly recommend it if you’re in the area

Top destination spot in the valley. Usually a wait-​list, however the process is pretty quick. Something for everyone on the menu, beer list and televisions.
I prefer the *Grilled Cheese of the week *Soup of the day * Daily Special and the *Chili is super spicy and tasty!
Food is always well-​made, atmosphere is genuine and efficient wherever you’re seated.
I prefer sitting in Pujya’s section, she’s sweet and an excellent server/​bar, so is Kevin.
My favorite nights are MUSIC MONDAYS, Dan brings in incredible live bands and it’s a great vibe ((and Pliny the Elder is present)).
Food is served late all week (LATEST open *quality* food menu in town)
Outdoor seating is great for people watching and sunshine
Extensive beer list rotates consistently (offers non-​alcoholic options and small wine list also)

Very enjoyable place. Very fast food prep after you order. Only problem is finding a place to sit requires 75% of your party to be there to be seated. So if yoj have stragglers, prepare to be hungry!
Food was delicious and bordering on the absurd. A meat lovers’ Grilled Cheese sandwich? Yes please.

Sadly, I am downgrading my review.
Ale House has been my favorite for years. I crave the Blue Cheese Burger and caesar salad. But the last two or three months, both have gone downhill.
We usually pick up a take out order on Sunday night once or twice a month. The salad has been inconsistent in size/​amount and a few times there has been wilted lettuce. But the biggest problem has been the burger. The meat is gross now. It’s like, spongy. And, even tho I order medium-​well the last two times it has been charred black and the inside very dry. Plus, the burger patty just doesn’t taste good anymore. We got a take out order last Sunday as a «last try» and we were sorely disappointed. I’m really bummed. We loved Ale house and it was a treat we would look forward to.

This is my place to go whenever I’m in Livermore. I love the ambiance here and the beer selection.
It has a great laid back atmosphere and my boyfriend loves watching games here since they have a lot of TV screens. The staff is friendly and the food is good. What more can you ask for?

First Street Ale House is my default to go place in Downtown Livermore.
It’s got a great environment. It’s fun and loud but it also has an area to the side that is great for families. Its also very family friendly. They have high chairs ad swings for car seats. They’ll also store your stroller in the side closet while you finish dinner.
The food itself is pretty good. It’s your typical american food. I really enjoyed their daily soups. And their fish & chips is pretty good.

I’ve stopped here a few time to grab a Cold one, never for Brunch. Brunch really? From my surprise the meal was good. Big Fruit Bowl with Sweet Pineapple, Cantaloupe and Grape. Trays with Salmon, Veggies, Tater Top (Yummy), Waffle, Etc… They also had a Omelet Station but my belly was full before I was able to get that.
Coffee was good, and the services was ok. We had to always search for someone to fill coffee, and the drinks, but wasn’t a huge issue.
Good food/​coffee, reasonable price, didn’t have to wait in a long food line. I’ll be back.

Much better than expected. We went here early on a weekend night and it was still packed. Very loud. Service was efficient. Food is about 3.5−4 stars, but keep in mind this is not «fancy food». They brought out a side salad first, which was just a standard salad, nothing fancy. Forgot to take a photo of that. DH got the wienerschitzel, which he enjoyed, but complained that there were no herbs mixed into the batter. I got a regular burger, which was tender, juicy with a hint of smokiness. Bun went well with it. There was only a small slice of tomato and lettuce. I’d say comparable to a place like Five Guys… it’s on the softer side like their burgers. And it came with a Tootsie Pop, which was strange. I don’t know the backstory on that.
We also tried their famous Garlic Fries, with a beer batter coating. They were very crisp and very garlicky. Can something have too much garlic?! I think I actually prefer regular fries! They had a root beer on tap, which was good, but had a metallic aftertaste. Wish we tried some of their regular beers, but for some reason, we decided to go non-​alcoholic this evening.
There was a ton of food. I took home half a burger and it was perfect for lunch the next day. DH also took home half of his wienerschitzel. Hint: use the convection mode of your oven to get it crispy again.
They get an extra star because we stopped by another day, before they opened, to pick up a gift card. That’s good customer service there! :)

This is a cute and great place to grab lunch while downtown. It’s got a kinda dim atmosphere that complements the sun shining in from the windows and serves your typical American food – burgers and what not. I ended up ordering the «Philly». It actually had quotation marks on the menu, which I’m not surprised since it was subpar. Wasn’t the best I’ve had, but then again this is California and not the east coast. What do you expect?
The nice thing is that instead of a salad, you can actually get fruit with your order, which I definitely appreciate. It’s not much, but for those who aren’t a big fan of salads…
4 cause ale at 11 in the morning. Why not?

Probably the last place I should of looked at to get a salad, but that’s what I was in the mood for, and this was the place I wanted to go. Oh brain, how you confuse me.
I ordered the Black and Blue salad. Steak and blue cheese, two of my favorite things ever. My steak was cooked rare as I asked for, but also had a few very fatty bites that I was not into. What goes better with blue cheese? More blue cheese! I am very happy that they brought the blue cheese dressing in two little cups on the side. One was plenty and two would have drowned my salad.
I continued my healthy diet by adding a TALL glass of Alaskan Amber. On a very hot day, this tall glass of beer was needed and much appreciated.

First street ale house is one of those places you wish you could give more stars to if Unilocal would only give us that option. Everything from the food to service was perfection and I really couldn’t ask for more .
Driving back from sfo on a late Wednesday night gave us very little options for good food. It’s either Denny’s or drive thru fast food, right? I wasn’t going to settle for either. I’d rather just drive back home and go straight to sleep rather than settling for Denny’s or fast food.
I asked my cousin who went to las positas if he knew of any good places to eat and he recommended a great place to eat. Seeing that they close at 11:30, I wasn’t sure if we’d make it on time so I called to see if they would still allow us to dine in if we were to walk in around 11 ish. Mike answered the phone and kindly allowed us to order and by the time we would arrive, it would be ready for dine in. He told me that once we arrive, sit wherever we wanted and he’ll have the food ready. I have never experienced someone be so kind enough to let us do that.
I think what makes a place great is Elton John playing through the speakers and a server that resembles Seth rogan. Upon walking in, Kevin greeted us and got us our food super fast. Have you ever had a beermosa? Well, I like beer and I like mimosas so, they made me a peach beermosa and it was life changing !! Everything was cooked to perfection and I have found my go to spot in Livermore. We will definitely be back and will recommend this place to friends and family !
