History

Established in 1969.

Marshall Kamena, OD, founded our clinic after graduating from Optometry School at UC Berkeley. The office was originally across the street from where Mountain Mike’s is now, but moved to it’s current location – kitty corner to the famous Livermore totem pole – a few years later. Dr. Kamena served as a Livermore City Council member for 10 years, and served twice as Livermore’s Mayor, once from 1980 – 1981 and again from 2001 – 2011. In 1999, his son, Scott Kamena, OD, also graduated from UC Berkeley and started working here. He took over the practice in 2005 and renamed it «Murrieta Optometry» to reflect it’s location and the fact that other doctors worked here, as well. Dr. Kamena is currently joined by Dr. Christopher Gee and Dr. Melissa Moore. The practice was recently expanded and remodeled and, as always, features the latest in optical and diagnostic equipment.
