SMR Home Services and Home Child-proofing

Needless to say… I’m not very mechanical. I pretty much collect the list of stuff my wife wants me to do, and not do it. Well if I’m not gonna do it… I need to get off my A#$F%$@ and find someone else to do it.
Enter Stu. Obviously he has tons of good reports… what you read elsewhere is true… fantastic with the dogs… okay when my 20month old wants to watch what hes doin, etc.
If its something he is not comfortable doing, he is honest with you about that.
We’ve had him to the house a couple times now… and I’ve got him on the books for next month as well. hes helped replacing a shower valve, reconfigured the plumbing under our kitchen sink where a failed attempt by myself started things. Replaced our trash compactor, patched walls, hung outside security flood lights, etc.
I’ve asked about building a small fence/​gate to keep the dogs out of where 20mo old wants to play… replacing bathroom fans… lucky for Stu… my house is 20 years old so everything needs doing.
No doubt I’ll be continuing to go to Stu for all these needs.

Thank YOU Stu for setting up and installing my rain barrel. I called him this morning and he was able to squeeze me in to his schedule. Work was a breeze for Stu and there’s probably no possible way for me to get it done without the right tools. YOU saved me a big headache trying to do it myself. And again, his fee is just right. Stu is awesome! Reasonably priced, friendly, on time, dog and kid friendly, and does good work. He completed the «honey do» list I’ve had for months. He brings all his own tools. I supplied the baby latches, he brought the gate latches because there is a product he prefers and it was just what we needed. I would ask him to come back without a doubt for any more of those home maintenance tasks that pop up and I just can’t seem to get done.

I have used Stu for a few different things a couple different times in the Livermore area and he is punctual, knowledgable, gets right to work and all for a very good price. Some of the things he did: installed 13 sets of blinds (including taking the bottom slack off), taking doors off, installing door knobs, putting valance up. I’m extremely happy with his work and would highly recommend him to anyone. Call around and then call Stu.

Stu is great! I had 3 chores to do that are beyond my handyman skills, (which are poor by the way), so I found SMR though Unilocal and set up an appointment. He arrived 10 minutes early and he was able to complete all of the tasks in less time than he estimated.
As far as cost, Stu was beyond reasonable, I only wish I had called him long ago!

Moving into a new home and taking care of a 10 month old can make getting certain things done around the house a little difficult – especially when you’re not good at ‘handyman’ type things. Thank goodness we found Stu! He is friendly and arrived earlier than expected. He also got the job done in a timely fashion. We thought he quoted us a fair hourly price. We will definitely be requesting his services again for future projects.

Stu is fabulous. He’s my go-​to guy for every home repair need. He’s smart, easy going, skilled, and always on time. He doesn’t give a two hour window, either. He gives me a time and shows up at that time with his mobile shop in tow. And on those rare occasions when his last job «became an emergency» he calls well in advance so I’m not stuck waiting for him.
Another thing I really appreciate about Stu is his willingness to turn down a job. If a job is outside his skill level, he will tell me to find someone who’s an expert in that job instead of just trying to do it and hoping it will turn out okay.
I highly recommend Stu for everything from minor home repair to remodeling.

I recently hired Stu to dismantle and haul away an outdoor utility cabinet. Stu was prompt, completed the job very quickly and was meticulous in cleaning up all the debris. Stu helped me with a leaky faucet. I highly recommend him. He is very nice and easy-​going to people with no idea what is happening. He is professional about what he can and cannot do. A big plus here is that he charges by hours and new material. So scenarios like $ 200 for a simple job will never happen with Stu.

We hired Stu to do some jobs around the house: Faucets, Blinds, fixing the closets, cleaning enclosed fan vents, curtains etc. Stu was pleasant, reliable, very fast and reasonable in terms of cost. I would gladly recommend Stu to anyone looking for handyman services

Stu was highly recommended by my husband’s cousin. What I like about him aside from what has already been written here in Unilocal are: not only did he do the work to my satisfaction, he also left my home cleaned up after. I felt his sincerity because, he made sure warrantee no longer covers before he even started on what I requested him to fix. I also like the fact he was proactive meaning, i mentioned in passing a few little things that i would like to fix in the bathroom and next thing i know he was already working on it. He also had everything he needed and not wasted time buying parts or looking for his tools to rack up more hours to charge me. The only thing i was surprised was the parts he charged me because he did not tell me my material was not enough and he can use what he has for a charge.

Stu has done a number of projects for me. The most recent was last week and the wine cabinet converted to a cabinet with shelves came out fantastic. A number of years ago I had seen a picture of a built in doggie door that matched an actual interior door and asked Stu if he could build. He could, did, and I get a lot of comments on how unique, functional, and cool it looks. I trust Stu in my house, and with my house, which to me is extremely important.

Stu is a local handyman who has done a variety of jobs for my clients over the years. I’ve always found him to be very honest, hardworking and reasonably priced. He is willing to take on a variety of jobs, and have always found my clients to be very pleased with his work.

I recently had the pleasure of having Stu do some work at my mom’s house.
He is honest and reliable. He is always on time great at communication, prices are very reasonable.
He so positive and he does a very good job at what ever he is asked to do.
I had never met him and so I was cautious at first but after I talked with him and saw his work I was very impressed.
I plan to have him do some work for me in the near future I really can’t say anything negative.
