Very very sad to see that this place is now closed. They were my go to lunch spot with the best chicken pita around and also loved their salads with greek chicken.

Came here for lunch with the hubby, and we were so glad we did! All the food was really good. We shared the greek salad, gyro plate, saganaki and baklava. The portions are huge and well priced. The girl behind the counter was very nice. Nothing was greasy. We will definitely be back.

I’m sold — This place is my new go to for AMAZING Greek eats. Now, let me tell you why.
You walk in, it’s a hip little joint with some tables and a deli style counter making it feel super laid back. You can order your food, the staff will bring it out to you, and then you pay at the end of your meal. Everyone here is super friendly and willing to explain any item on the menu if you have questions. Now, on to the food…
As the cute little bat in Anastasia would say: «Wow, just wow!». As so many have raved about, the gyros are served on a huuuuuge platter and is piled high. My friend ordered those, I only got to try a bite, but it was gooooood. I tried the daily specials (which they have about 8 or so selections) and was blown away — literally, blown away. I had the beef stew, Greek potatoes, and the green beans. Best. Lunch. Ever. I literally could not stop smiling. Everything was SUPER flavorful and perfectly cooked. I was almost tempted to get up and grab another plate, but unfortunately if I would have done that I probably would have busted out of my work pants. Everything is so reasonably priced that the wallet would definitely allow seconds. Then, the magic happened: baklava cheesecake. I know people, I know… sounds weird right? WRONG. It’s magic. I don’t even like baklava (I’ve tried it three different times with three different people making it and was never sold), but this desert is magical. Apparently, it’s the chef’s own creation too, which is pretty darn cool if you ask me.
I can’t wait to spend lots and lots of my lunch breaks here.

I’ve been in Lombard for a number of years and finally we have a nice small high quality GREEK Restaurant/​Café with traditional home style items & entrees and it’s way over due. I’ve been going for several months and the food is not only consistent but seems to get better each time too. Great place, reasonable prices and a cozy clean and Neighborhood friendly place to take a date, the family or the guys for lunch ! Angelo and his staff are GREAT and their to serve you and they even make the Carrot Cake from scratch. You must try a piece but if you do, you might be hooked? I’ve been there many many times and it’s a Good Quality place to eat at !

I wanted to love it, but overall it was not worth it. Spinach pie had very little feta, no seasonings, dry and it was stone cold. Potatoes it came with were tasty but again COLD. With a fabulous Greek restaurant not far away, I won’t be going back to Main Street.

Holy moly. I just stuffed my face and I don’t feel bad about it! This was my first time trying this place, and I have to say I’m so impressed! We didn’t eat there so I can’t critique the restaurant itself. I can only offer my opinion based on a take out order. From the moment I called to place my order, I was treated wonderfully. The woman taking my order was very professional, nice, and very helpful. Guess what! Unilocal!You’re wrong! This place does, in fact, deliver if the order is over $ 25! Anyway back to my foodgasm experience. We really wanted to get a feel for this place so we ordered an appetizer, two entrees, and desert. Surprisingly it was less than $ 30. I feel like we got a ton of food for the amount of money we spent. Saganaki was amazing! My pita tasted fresh! The veggies were perfect and they did not skimp out! The fries tasted like a greasy burger joints fries (I mean this in the nicest way possible). They were the perfect compliment to my veggies. I was so full but I had to keep going and try their Baklava. Outstanding. Seriously! I hope they make this stuff in house because it tastes like the kind my mommy would bring home from the authentic European markets. This was the first time my toddler tried any sort of Greek food and she gave it two very big thumbs up. She even ate most of the Baklava by herself. I think we are going to become regulars here now that we live so close. How is it that I’m SO full yet I want to keep eating? Love this place! Give it a try!

WOW! My wife and I have been looking for sometime for a new go to place for gyros and we have definitely found it here!
When we arrived it was about 25 minutes before they were going to close. We honestly were not expecting much, I mean after all we pulling up right before they were going to close. However as we walked through the door we were greeted with a warm and enthusiastic hello. What followed was a first time dining experience that did not disappoint. The customer service was top notch, the restaurant was clean and the food was high quality.
What impressed me so much was the variety on their menu. As the owner was explaining everything to us he, showed us the hot bar area where his chef from Greece features authentic dishes that he prepares daily. This isn’t your typical drive thru gyros place. A huge variety of authentic cuisine as reasonable prices. We most definitely will be back!

Started by the same family that started the gyro cone rolling with Central Gyros Restaurant @ Belmont and Central in Chicago. Nicely done standards prepared as you like. Great service from the staff.

This is my new go-​to for gyros. It’s clean and bright inside. Normally when I get a gyro elsewhere, I feel like I need to wash my face once I leave because it feels so greasy in there.
I didn’t realize it was going to take 10 – 15 minutes for my gyro and fries to finish though. Now I know that this isn’t the place to stop if I’m in a hurry. If it takes that long, at least I know it’s freshly made. The food tastes good and isn’t too expensive.
I also think it’s a bit strange that they sell gum and lottery tickets!
All in all, a nice place to eat.

For a while there, I had heard about this place or seen fliers about it but I had no idea where it was. Finally one day I was walking into the Jimmy Johns two doors down and there it was!
I had yet to try their food so one day I was in a hurry and needed to pic something up quick so I stopped by. I decided to get the stuffed chicken with a double side order of the green beans and the bf got two hot dogs with fries.
I thought that it was gonna be a quick in-​and-​out sort of thing since my food was from a deli-​type thing behind the counter and the other is just a hot dog with fries… but it took at least 10+ minutes to get the hot dog and fries because they cut and cook the fries to order. But still… 10 minutes? It was just taking way longer than it needed to be and I was almost late to work as a result of it.
The food was decent… my chicken was a little dry by it was good overall. I don’t think I would get that chicken dish again but I would get the green beans. Those had great flavor and they weren’t really limp… they had a decent crunch. But for the wait that I had to get those fries… they weren’t even that good so that was a disappointment and a waste of time.
Overall I will probably return but it won’t be my first choice.

It’s a little hard to find a ½ block South of Roosevelt on Main in Lombard, but tough to beat for their Excellent fresh Greek food!

I choose his place randomly cause I was in the area. The restaurant was super clean and everything looked great in general. The guy behind the counter was super friendly and could tell id never been there before cause I looked confused. He explained the menu to me and the daily specials.
Appearantly the chef makes a number of entrees and side dishes that you can order as a meal with one entrée and two sides. There is also a main menu that you can order from with Greek and American options. I ordered a daily special with half cream chicken, half beef, with potatoes and rice. I also ordered a gyro plate with potato salad and a chicken kabob plate with pasta salad.
The gyro and chicken took about ten minutes to make and as I waited I are a slice of baklava cheesecake, it was amazing!!!
The food all ended up being delicious! Huge portions! We have plenty of chicken and gyro meat for another meal tomorrow. I definitely recommend this place. Food is extremely fresh and delicious. The only reason it’s not five star for me is because the sides are really small. I had like a mountain of meat and a small side of pasta salad. To most people that wouldn’t be a problem though :)

I really like this place.
The first thing that stands out is the owner. He’s super friendly, always looking for feedback, always willing to give out samples of his food.
What’s great about this place is there are daily Greek specials. They aren’t something you can usually get at a fast casual place. Normally you’d have to go to a nice sit down place to get something like that.
Everything I’ve had here has been pretty good to great.
The gyros here are very very good. Among the top 3 in the suburbs for sure! The side I’ve had; fries, onion rings, soup are all solid but nothing outstanding.
There is 1 draw back but it’s hardly a bad thing, they’re not open on Sundays which makes me sad because that’s when my Greek cravings… for food at least.
I’d say it’s a must go!

My husband and I stopped by this past Friday night for dinner. We were greeted by Angelo, the owner. He was incredibly friendly and let us try a few things before we ordered. He’s the kind of guy you want opening a business in your town.
They have a «ready-​to-​go» bar of a good number of delicious Greek food like mousaka or pastitsio– they change daily and they’re all home made (we tasted the beef — it was amazing!) They also have a «Greek» menu and a «Chicago» menu to order from. The Greek menu has things like souvlaki and gyros while the Chicago menu has hot dogs and italian beef.
My husband ordered a gyros sandwich and I had the char-​broiled chicken on a pita — and we both had their hand-​cut fries. Both sandwiches were filled to the brim and were delicious! Something that stood out to us was that the owner checked both of our orders in front of us to make sure we got everything we ordered, the way we ordered it — nothing more annoying than getting home to find out they forgot something.
We’re looking forward to coming back and trying more of their delicious Greek dishes.

If you think licking the grease out of a frying pan sounds delicious, this is the place for you!
I had the grilled veggie sandwich. Nothing grilled about it. It was «sauteed» and absolutely drowning in oil/​grease. When I picked up the sandwich, hot grease ran out of it and down my arm. I actually had to take apart the sandwich and use napkins to mop up the grease to even eat it. The fries were also greasy. I wish I could comment on flavor, but all I tasted was grease. In fact, I’m still tasting it.
No fountain drinks, but you can buy bottles or cans of soda, juice, and waters. 12oz can of soda was $ 0.89. 20oz bottle was $ 1.79.
Service was friendly but really slow for lunch. There were only a couple people in there besides me. Fortunately, I wasn’t crunched for time.
My total bill was $ 17 and that was for 2 sandwiches, 1 soup, 1 condiment cup of coleslaw, 1 fries, and 1 can of soda. That’s awfully pricey for a bucket of grease.
The place looked very clean. But I left smelling like a short order cook. They need to improve the ventilation in the kitchen or prop the door open or something.

There’s quite a few businesses I’ve come across in Chicagoland that dangle themselves precariously over the arbitrary line that separates convenience stores from actual restaurants. I’ve reviewed quite a few convenience stores that also have made to order food and a dining area, and along those same lines I am going to cover Main Street Market.
When you walk into Main Street Market there is a long counter where most of the deli and restaurant business is done. There’s a few tables, chairs and stools along with a counter set up if you choose to dine in. There’s a few coolers along the walls and a few shelves of snacks set up. It’s a combination of a somewhat sparsely stocked convenience store with a deli.
After a tipoff that this newly opened establishment served Hot Dogs by another Unilocaler I decided to head out to Lombard and give this place a try. The very first item listed on the menu board here is the «Main Street Dog» which is exactly what I wanted to order. This came with fries, I also got a soda from one of the coolers. A few minutes later it was ready and the owner came out and gave some background on the business and that this was an angus hot dog rather than a traditional just plain beef one.
The hot dog here came on a regular non-​poppy seed bun. The bun was soft and held together. There was a long pickle slice/​pickle spear on top two tomato slices, two sport peppers, onions and a conservative amount of mustard and relish applied. The frank itself was skinless, and as mentioned before was apparently made from the Angus breed of cattle. The sausage didn’t taste much different than the skinless Red Hot Chicago or Vienna Beef dogs used at most places. Overall this was an average hot dog.
With the hot dog was fries, these were fresh cut fries with pieces of the skin left on. They weren’t too salty, or over-​fried or greasy. But at the same time they also weren’t particularly flavorful. Fresh cut fries are one of those items I see so many places try, and they’re exceedingly difficult to do well, and even places that do them well are often inconsistent. These fries were nothing exceptional.
Overall, I liked Main Street Market and would visit again. The owner was friendly, the place was clean and the food was worth buying. It wasn’t exceptional and I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit for the Hot Dog again, but a future trip might lead to sampling something else on their menu. I am going to give them a very solid three stars.
