O’Cairns Inn and Suites

First I want to thank the previous reviewers because that’s how I based my choice. I decided to drive out the night before for a surveillance and was greeted by a wonderful staff member. I carry a special blue light in my field kit and was was amazed at how clean the room was. The bed and pillows were very comfortable (I had a bad cold), and a free breakfast was as good as some of your top chains. I checked out to another friendly staff member and greeted by another sweet young lady at breakfast. I’m telling you that this was a great deal for the price that helped me be refreshed in the morning for my case. They have my future stays. Great job management and staff!

My boyfriend and I love this little hotel! We first stayed here on a weekend trip to Lompoc in 2014. Looking for something a little different, but affordable, I stumbled on this gem. After a long day of exploring on our feet, it was wonderful to come back to a comfy bed, free DVD rental, popcorn, ice cream sandwiches, and (my favorite) coffee.
Flash forward two years and where do we decide to take a weekend getaway? O’Cairns of course! All the comfort and little (free) extras were everything we remembered and more! This time around we really got to enjoy the happy hour bar, morning breakfast, and family-​owned hospitality.
1. Happy Hour: Free drinks just steps from my hotel room? Yes please. We really enjoyed the laidback atmosphere and the pool table. Special surprise, the owner’s daughter made some great guacamole!
2. Free Breakfast: Much better than you normal continental breakfast! Not only did we enjoy the waffle maker and chocolate chips, but the made to order omelet and bacon were delicious.
3. Great Hospitality: Our second trip down really showed us where the warm feeling of this place comes from. This is truly a family owned business. You can find members of the family pitching in at the front desk, during breakfast, and during happy hour.
Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a welcoming, comfortable place to stay, with some amazing perks.

If I could give 100 star rating I would. This place is above and beyond my expectations. Family owned and the kindness is 100% genuine. I’m already looking forward to planning another trip just to stay here. The owner tori is a sweetheart and I seriously can’t recommend this place enough. At check in we were offered 4 free drinks at the bar EACH! My boyfriend and i’s jaw dropped! Hahaha we found this place last minute and I’m so glad we did! I love this hotel! Seriously you won’t regret it!

Best hotel ever! My husband and I do quite a bit of traveling and this hotel is by far the best we’ve ever stayed in. The owner is very friendly and he and one of his daughters man the front desk. His other daughter is a waitress during breakfast. The bartender and staff are also very friendly– no sour faces.

OMG, booked here because Solvang was just way too pricey and almost sold out. I am super impressed. The customer service here will bring me back again! We checked in late Friday night and the gal at the front counter was so friendly and explained everything to us. There are way too many free things to list, but I was shocked and thought, what is wrong here? Nothing, just a good old home feel. Took advantage of the free laundry as my daughter forgot some importation piece of under clothing. :) At night, the bar was wonderful with FREE drinks so we thought, plastic cups and cheap beer– NOPE. Again pleasantly surprised. The owners daughter even made a HUGE bowl of guacamole and brought out two bags of chips for all of us. We were there for a soccer tournament and had about 8 families with kids. The game area was so much fun for the kids, we all had a blast. The room was on the smaller side, but we didn’t hang there anyways, so it was fine to sleep! (beds were super comfy too!) My husband and I are already talking about seeing a concert at the casino so we can come back to this place. We truly felt like family!!! Come check it out!

We checked in last night to the nicest staff ever. We were thirsty and they gave our whole family a bottled water and snack. We were then given drink coupons. We went to the room… Totally clean with a full size fridge. We went to check out happy hour and OH MY GOSh… More of the nicest people ever… Adrian the AMAZING bartender served us Grey Goose vodka and Firestone beer… All included. The wine pours were awesome in nice glassware. We met the owner and found out it is a sweet family business. We are here for a soccer tournament… So we have a million kids and they are in heaven playing fooseball, pool, karaōke, WII and shuffleboard with Shirley Temples. Breakfast is made to order and was DEVINE with… Yes more of the nicest people ever. The fresh fruit was so awesome. My husband loved the breakfast burrito, I loved the biscuits and the coffee was great. We were leaving for soccer and were told they also have laundry if the girls need to have clean uniforms for the next games. We are so impressed and feel so taken care of!!! Thank you!!!

This place was perfect in every way. In addition to the helpful, friendly staff and clean, comfortable rooms, there were additional amenities and freebies that you don’t get elsewhere. Free movies, popcorn and ice cream bars, fresh fruit, a terrific cocktail evening with craft choices of draft beer plus expertly mixed drinks. The bartender was great! The next morning we enjoyed a complimentary cooked to order hot breakfast with friendly, attentive waitresses. We visited the Wine Ghetto earlier in the day — Zotovich had some truly delicious options, stayed at the hotel enjoying all they had to offer and then spent a few hours at La Purisima Mission/​State Park the next day. A wonderful weekend and we were able to bring our dog which was the icing on the cake! This is truly the best value to be found, we highly recommend this place!

The hotel is awesome!!! The rooms are great. Front desk staff and bar staff are awesome. The breakfast place drives me crazy! There are two girls working the breakfast and they hide in the back talking to each other. They will take your order and that’s it! They never check back to if everything is ok. They run out of everything, tables all dirty, and if you need anything you have to go up and asked them for it. It’s sad, because the place is so nice. I would save on labor by only having one girl so they will have no one to talk to and will actually do their job.

This place was great, but what really sold me was have a server for the continental breakfast! Such a good concept, why every hotel doesn’t do this is beyond me. AND two free drinks at the bar for guests.

Not only was the front desk staff member cheerful welcoming and knowledgable we were given free drinks and snacks! Room was clean and the breakfast was delicious! We will be staying again! Best hotel bang for the buck we’ve experienced in a very long time.

Awsome service! Free popcorn, icecream, water, soda, fruit and candy, free new movies, free drinks at the bar, full fridge and micro in the room. I am very happy at a very reasonable price… WOW! I never had it so good in a hotel!

We stayed here last weekend for our anniversary and I thought it was an extreme bargain for what you get! 1) 5 to 9 there is a happy hour and you get wine, mix drinks or beer. They serve you up to four drinks maybe five :). Then they will give you a bottle or glass for your room
2) there is a a kitchen fridge in your room and also a microwave
3)they give complementary waters and soda
4)they have made to order breakfast and you can eat as much as you want!
5) they are about 20 mins from Solvang and the cumash casino… Very easy drive!
6) the pillows and bed were comfy.
7) they have the budget café which is 20 yards from the happy hour bar. After drinking we could order some delicious burger and fries thanks hotel for making our stay a great one!

What treat! Laundry (with soap) cocktails, popcorn, ice cream, DVDs, great breakfast… All free with the price of a reasonable room. A little dark and aged but super comfy bed and clean. Giant TV. Pool and hot tub. I loved this place! Super hospitable.

Great customer service in the lobby. Nice and clean rooms. Grest breakfast and awesome happy hour. Only downfall was the shower never got hot. Only lukewarm water. Other than the shower issue, I would stay again. Great place to stay and feel safe if you’re a female traveling alone. The lobby is open 24 hours.

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and professional. We had a couple of issues with our online booking reservation and the hotel staff did not show that we had a room reserved. There were four of us and we were all part of a large event in town and they were already sold out. Michelle the manager helped us out and miraculously got us a room. It was a very comfortable and nice room. We enjoyed all of the incredible amenities that the hotel had to offer; the pool and jacuzzi, free snacks, happy hour and delicious home-​cooked breakfast. It was a truly a great experience from start to finish. I highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed here Friday night, ⁸⁄₇ then went on to Newport Beach where we stayed at the Marriott Bayview for two nights. If I had my way — we would have opted to spend the whole three nights at the O’Carin since it was so darn comfortable and laid back with a bunch of amenities and had far superior bed than the Marriott had. The Happy Hour had name brand drinks — my bourbon was Jim Beam and the whisky was JD — wife’s wine was Cup Cake and the beers were from local micro brews. The breakfast was very good with decent variety.
Overall a very pleasant experience at a reasonable price!

My husband and I spent a a few days here while he participated in a golf tournament at La Purisima Golf Course. While the hotel itself is not your everyday «5 Star» kinda place, it certainly felt like it was. The staff was very friendly; we even received a tip on where to eat from one of the girls who cleaned our room. Speaking of housekeeping, they did an excellent job in that area as well. The free breakfast and all the other perks were very appreciated by both me and my husband. We will definitely stay here again the next time we’re in town.

WOW! That was the word that rang in my head after checking in tonight. Now let me clarify, this is not a 5 star «fancy» hotel, BUT I haven’t been greeted or treated this nice when checking in to a hotel EVER!!! The ladies at the front desk were so friendly and they looked happy doing their job. The complimentary goodies seriously shocked my hubby and I… they offers SO MANY free stuff. They offered water, sodas (a variety), tea, juice, ice cream (2 kinds), popcorn, and even DVD movies. They also have a computer and printer available for guests.
OK, so my thought was they were being too nice so the rooms must be awful. I was wrong the rooms were spacious and clean. There was a full size fridge, a recliner, a LARGE flat screen TV, microwave, a desk w a computer chair (comfy) and so many nice touches-​such as a coat rack. I am happily surprised so far. I wish we would have gotten here earlier to test out the pool… YES they have a pool!
We will definitely be back if we are ever in Lompoc again. You should definitely check them out! Dang, I sound like a commercial LOL!
Breakfast was good– make your own waffles, fresh fruit, variety of breads, various juices, coffee, hard boiled eggs and a plus– real cups, glasses, and plates.

I mean Hey look where I am. But honestly the staff is super super friendly. It was staying here or the «embassy suites» in quotes bc their reviews we’re horrible and so are the pictures especially for the price.
Any who we checked in right on time for happy hour! Four drinks of your choice per adult staying in the room. Can you say #winning. The rooms are clean and so there’s no complaints. Free breakfast along with free ice cream, soda, cookies, coffee, tea, popcorn and movie rentals all night.
What I’m basically saying is the same thing the ES was offering for more money and less than subpar rooms, I got here. Lord forbids that I’m ever in this neck of the woods again, but if I am this is where you’ll find me.
On another note… What is a lompoc and who formed this «town» literally in the middle of nowhere.

We had to move out of our apartment due to mold and we were at the red roof inn. Well they got closed down by the building inspectors. So we came over here!
The rooms were a bit more then the other place, but worth it. The rooms were big and not so depressing! Super nice and clean! The staff are super friendly and nice! They have a huge movie selection to pick from for free! Free ice creams! Free popcorn! Free coffee! A lot of free things that many places don’t have! I was amazed. I’ve stayed at more expensive places that didn’t even have this!
There is also a pool and a hot tub and a huge area to have a party.
I am so happy to be staying here right now!!!
I would recommend anyone and everyone stay here!
