History

Established in 2006.

Mike and Pete are a couple of local Southern California boys trying to earn a buck and have fun! Both grew up in Long Beach and have spent their lives trekking, surfing, and working along the coastline. The buses have given Mike and Pete the opportunity to explore and create adventures in some of their favorite sandy spots!

Miike and Pete are the proud owners of the Big RED Bus. They both grew up in Long Beach, spending a great deal of time in and around the ocean. This intimate knowledge of the coastline has enabled them to plan many wonderful waterfront itineraries on their authentic London Double-​Decker Buses, and SanFran style trolley. Kids parties, weddings, sightseeing, birthdays, surf trips, the Big RED Bus has done it all!

It was our first anniversary celebration on a beer tour with the Big Red Bus company. This was a really funny experience. Our driver was a cool guy. We visited three breweries (I believe). The first one was the best, in my opinion. We bought a very big bottle of their dark draft beer with chocolate and a very reach taste. We brought it on a bus. Unfortunately, we did not finish it during our tour between visiting other breweries, even though we gave beer to people on a bus as well. And we were not allowed to take this bottle at home because you pay just for a beer inside of it. I really recommend this company. You’ll have fun, I guarantee :)

We loved the tour. My 6 year old son was on cloud 9 riding a trolley looking at lights.
The check in process was simple… we got our hats, cookies and hot cocoa then hopped on the bus. The lights themselves weren’t as impressive as I thought, particularly compared with Candy Cane Lane (Torrance) and Newport Boat Parade.
However, the tour guide (Berger, I think) was AWESOME. He had really great info. We are local history aficionados, but he pointed out some truly unique info and sites that we didn’t know anything about prior to our tour. It would have been great if the guide had a microphone so that he cold have spent more time telling us interesting facts rather than repeating each story 3 times (once to each section of the trolley).
This could easily become an annual holiday tradition for our family!

We had our 5th annual private bus for the Christmas Tour of Lights on Monday night. It is such a great time, our friends expect it year-​after-​year! Definitely a Christmas tradition we intend to keep going!

Did the Holiday Waterfront Tour of Lights (Trolley) and our daughter loved it! They start you off with a cup of hot chocolate and a cookie while you wait for the trolley. Once on the trolley you get a bit of history on the floating trees and the Naples community. We enjoyed our tour!

I have rented the big red bus for the past 4 years. We first started in the summer and then moved it December where it is now a family/​friend tradition to have our Christmas Sweater Party on the big red bus. I have absolutely only positive things to say about all the crew at the Big Red Bus. They are super accommodating and very relaxed. Planning is really easy with them. This will probably continue to be a family tradition for a very long time!

Did the Trolley ride through Belmont Shores and Naples to see the Christmas lights. It was fantastic. We checked in and got our cookie and hot chocolate and we were on our way! The lights were awesome but what I really liked was all the information I didn’t know about Long Beach and Naples. Great job. Definitely don’t miss it.

My family and I had an awesome time! They were so impressed with history. Born and raised in California and never knew all this awesomeness existed. Thank you for allowing my family and I to be apart of something so great! The hot chocolate and cookie was Awesome!!! They can’t stop talking about the whole experience. Look at this review. We did the Holiday Lights tour on the Long Beach Trolley. What a blast! They had Santa Hats as your boarding pass, hot chocolate and yummy cookies. The narrator gave some Long Beach history and interesting trivia around the tour. This is an event not to miss! We loved it!

Always have a blast. I’ve been on the trolley, the double decker and the surf looking bus. The drivers are always nice and I’ve always worked with robin to make my reservations. For the last check in for the Christmas lights she was professional even with crazy customers screaming at her haha

Booking two buses for a school organization for the Holiday Tour of Lights was relatively painless. Friendly & helpful associates started on the phone and continued in person on the night of the actual tour. The meeting spot is at the Tilted Kilt and hot chocolate and cookies are provided. Snag yourself a fire pit table and the ambience is complete. And of course, I can’t skip mentioning Santa Kilt Clause! The houses are so beautiful and some of the decorations are beyond impressive. There is a musician on board keeping the atmosphere festive. Make sure you bundle up and dress warmly. It’s a memorable and beautiful experience.

I went with my BF for the Christmas Trolley Ride in Long beach and had a blast. The staff was helpful and so nice. We got hot chocolate, home made cookies, a santa hat and the ride itself was awesome! Can’t recommend it enough.

So once again I purchased a groupon, but this time it was for a trolley ride. We were able to view beautiful homes decorated with tons of Christmas lights, very festive. The tour provided us with cookies and yummy hot chocolate, plus a bit of history on Belmont shores, and the LBC. Both my kids enjoyed it, my teenage son was pretty impressed with the houses. All in all it was good time. I would definitely recommend this tour.

We went on the big red bus this last Sunday fun day for my boyfriends birthday and it was amazing. Not gonna lie we were pretty nervous before because we didn’t know what to expect but we had a good time. Not only are the deals and free food good but allowing us to bring our own cans of beer on the bus to get the party started and keep it going between bars is awesome, next time we are for sure bringing cans for each of us! Also our driver and conductor were great and so helpful by giving us tips when we got to each bar. Overall a great atmosphere and fun experience. Will definitely be doing this again!

I helped a friend book the Big Red Bus for his birthday this past weekend. It was my third time riding the Big Red Bus but my first time actually booking it myself. The entire experience was a breeze. James and Tyson explained everything to a T, checked in with me leading up to the event, and were super pleasant (and funny) throughout the entire process. James even followed up to make sure all went well.
Our group was a bit rowdy throughout the ride (to be expected I’m sure) and our hosts were nothing but nice and accommodating the entire time. It was HOT but the breeze coming in the top floor windows, the lovely ocean view and comfy seats made up for the weather. The cold beer didn’t hurt either.
Thank you Big Red Bus for another amazing time and safe ride!

I got a coupon for a half hour waterfront tour of Christmas lights light in Long Beach. It would have been $ 30 a ticket but payed $ 15 with the coupon.
Everything was on time, the tour guide and driver were very thorough and enthusiastic. The lights were awesome. Long Beach has become so very nice.
The driver just needs to speak up when answering questions. I’m sure I was the only one who could hear him but I was literally sitting right near him.
