Seriously! This place is so delicious! I didnt know what to order because I wanted a little of everything. I ended up getting the El Guapo burger and lemme just say that burger was huge! I was in a nice food coma. They even gave me a complimentary ice cream since I just graduated. This is a nice place with GREAT staff. I will be coming again

You have to use quality ingredients in your dishes. Cutting corners in the long run will only keep your loyal customers who patronize you. You charge $ 27.00 for breakfast and cannot give real butter for pancakes, cream for coffee and greasy bacon and sausage. Maybe the doors are ¾ way on there way close already?

Awesome breakfast yet again. I really enjoy the service. They’re quick and the food is always just perfect.

Been comming here every sunday the last month or two, and I havent been let down with any of my orders yet (I have tried something new everytime). I will continue my tradition sundays here as long as I can.

Really horrible service… took over an hour to get our breakfast. Took 10 min to get our coffee. A lady that walked in with us and sat with us at our table (we didn’t know her really well) was very hateful to the waitresses. The service was horrible. About an hour later I started feeling very ILL. I was so sick. dizzy…very odd. I’m thinking someone put something in my food that made me very SICK. BE VERY CAREFUL WHO YOU MAKE MAD HERE.

2 stars for the service, but other than that the food was bland no flavor at all from the biscuits and gravy to the omelette. Not returning for sure.

This is one of my favorite place so to eat when I am looking for comfort food. I don’t understand why it isn’t busier because the food and service is always great. My boyfriend and I have been here several times and we are never disappointed. We usually have the same waitress, too, who is super attentive and likes to check on us to make sure everything is as we want it. There is plenty of parking and the booths and tables are spacious. I love the breakfast from here. I’m very pleased with this place!

Worst place ever asked for coffee they took10 min asked for water another 10 min ordered waited 40 that’s bs!!!

We been here b4 and the service and food was okay, we decided to try it again because of the nice servers. This time we were really disappointed. We arrived at 12 noon, took our order within 5 minutes, 12:25 I received my side of fries which I ordered with my asada burrito, 12:35 my wife gets her Denver omelette, 12:45 we get the rest of the food, which was cold. 12:55 we leave restaurant. Server never came to check back on us. Will never come here again.

The first time I came here the food was good. The sauce was great. My server was great. I went back today loved the steak breakfast. Everything was sooo good. The steak, sauce, eggs, avocado, beans and rice. I loved this place. Everything is home made. Oh and the ranch sauce is excellent

If you are looking for a clean place with decent food and no long waits then I suggest this place. I have come here for many years on and off and the place is always clean the service is
good and they have added some TV’s in a few areas. Like any place everyone has their favorite food I think you can’t go wrong with any of their breakfasts and have tried all their burger plates over the years.

REVISION:
So, we must have been really hungry the first time we went to this joint, because the food was not even half as good as I remember. Yes, the Chicken Fried Steak dinner is still gigantic, but it was not very tasty, as was the soup that accompanied it. Now that I remember, the spaghetti that I had with my cheeseburger was not very tasty either. It’s a lot of food for a very reasonable price.

My buddies and I like to eat lunch after a round of golf. We usually eat in the clubhouse of the golf course that we play at, but the Lakewood cafeteria is atrocious, so we decided to drive up the street to see what was around. We stumbled across this joint, which looks like a fast food burger joint from the outside, which is what we were looking for, but we were a little surprised to see that is was actually a «sit-​down» restaurant. Hungry and tired, we didn’t feel like going anywhere else, so we said, what the heck… let’s just eat here. BEST DECISION EVER.
I had a spaghetti and cheeseburger combination. Who ever heard of such a thing? It’s like I died and went to Man Cave heaven. One of my buddies got Chicken Fried Steak… now, if you’ve ever been to Denny’s and had their Chicken Fried Steak, think of that TIMES TWO. This plate was literally, not one, but two Chicken Fried Steaks on one plate… plus, it came with a bowl of vegetable beef soup. It’s enough for two meals, fo sho. We are going to eat here A LOT!

I have been dining at Golden Star for over 14 years and I love this place. I am older so it has a retro appeal which I love. I take my friends there and they too have become advocates of Golden Star. All of the waitresses are friendly and kind, take down your orders properly and I am always pleased. Everything is clean, lots of great parking and the menu is full of items to choose from. It is a family owned business which is a big plus in my book. They care about their patrons. I have read some of the negative comments on this website and I believe these reviewers must have gone to a different restaurant. Open on Christmas Day too and I plan to be there!

Meh. That pretty much sums it up.
I ordered a standard breakfast and threw in the waffle.
Eggs were adequate. Waffle was average. Sausage (polish) was a little tough.
When I bit into the biscuit it reminded of me clay (with a little butter).
The place was clean and desolate.
If you have $ 10-​$ 15 to spend on brunch, you should spend it somewhere else.
Such as: Black Bear Diner, The Breakfast Bar, The Pot Holder, The Coffee Cup, etc.

This is the second time we stop not sure why it’s taking over an hour to to get our food and drinks when it’s not busy. The server are nice the food and tis good. They even make their own jams mmmmm good the waiting can drive you to leave maybe next time th

Weeee are back again. For some killer grilled cheeeeeessssseeeeee. We are back again… what to eat…

One entrée does not make a meal so one cannot assume too much. But I am ahead of myself. The place does remind me of the places my folks use to frequent back when the Beatles first hit the shores of the States. The white ceiling tiles, patent leather half circle booths and light brown wood paneling accenting wood pillars.
Like Spires, oldies music is playing in the sound system and on a far wall a TV is muted with a college football game on.
The waitress was very attentive but for the luch time crowd it was a bit scarce. Regulars, young families anda few strangers like me were spread out among the variety of places to sit.
I know it is late for breakfast but havinh a very busy morning did not allow time to eat one earlier and the greek shepherd special looked good.
I was a bit surprised it took as long as it did to get it to me but it looked good when it arrived.
A bit heavy with feta and tomatoes but that may have been because I ordered the Greek hash browns as well. Perhaps a touch greasy and and could have used some green peppers or some other balancing veggie but I ate it all anyway.
The pricing was fair for a sit down meal with wifi and air conditioning. I think I will come back and try another entrée and see if I can make a meal of it.

Came for a soccer tournament then looking for a place to eat. Drove by and decided to stop, with family. Felt very welcome as we walked in, a group of 6 (all family).
Waitress was very nice and and helpful with options. Portions were very hearty, food was brought out quickly.
Definetly a return place next time in area.

Ok prices, the coffee was good. i got scrambled eggs, hashbrowns and french toast. The eggs, hashbrowns, and coffee were fine, if not good. Then I get to the french toast… first bite no problem. Second bite… as i chewed I could feel oil coming out of the food in my mouth… It felt disgusting, but like an idiot, I kept eating. I finished eating and paid. i was gonna head to the walmart down the street, but i had to make an emergency change of plans and head home, running read lights, and speeding. i barely made it to the toilet, sat down, BOOM…
I will not be back.

A great place to bring the family. Friendly waitresses that give great service. Food is delicious, if your craving breakfast in the afternoon it’s the place to go. A favorite of mine is the Denver omelet and the turkey burger.

Good service, great flavor. I got the hashbrowns Greek style. Delicious! My Captain Morgon’s ommellet was the special, very filling.

Came here with my husband for breakfast. I let him pick because he really isn’t a big fan of going out for breakfast, He’s CRAZY!
We were sat instantly, no wait on a Saturday @ 9:30, Hellz yeah! We got drinks and coffee super fast and the servers are anxious and in a hurry to get ur order in. It got 2 stars b/​c service was good.

–Health Nut Breakfast: scrambled egg whites, sliced tomatoes, cottage cheese, and a side of turkey bacon
–French Toast w/​3 eggs over easy
PROS:
–Food came out fast, like 10 min or less
–Servers move quickly and always ready to give you more coffee
–good cottage cheese
CONS:
–my food was super oily/​greasy, it was very hard to eat. I felt icky afterwards
–toast was smothered I a greasy oil. Yuck
–the French toast was okay

Not as good as the PCH location but just as good. Very nice customer service and slightly different menu. But overall a great experience.

First time here. Not coming back. Wait was too long over 30 minutes for a breakfast burrito.

Very good restaurant for friendly smiling waitress and good value in the menu. We look forward to the weekly specials comfortable atmospheres. A jem of a place to end the day.

Our family have visited this place many times through out the years, and really never had anything to complain about. Food has always been decent, service has also been good. It’s a family owned business, been there for years. Some people like it, some people don’t. Breakfast is probably their best to offer. Compare to other local food joints, it’s alright. I like it a lot because it’s never that busy, very comfortable, and a relaxing place to enjoy our meal.

Completing my five star day, I stopped here for dinner. I hadn’t visited for some time. Recently I decided to make better food choices. I was delighted to find that that they pressure cook their chicken. Looks like fried and is juicy, but the only oily substance is from the poultry and not by added frying in oil or grease.
I also recently learned that some types of meat protein helps curb my appetite. While the portion looked minimal, I left feeling full. The offer a special blend of ice tea mixed with cranberry juice. I had two glasses.
I will return.

I prefer «mom and pop» places for breakfast over franchises like Denny’s.
Golden Star reminded me why.
I ordered a veggies/​sausage omelette (oops, I forgot the name), which came with my choice of potatoes and toast. The veggies, omelette and potatoes were delicious.
To drink, I got coffee, which I admit, could’ve been better.
What impressed me was the fact that my omelette came with homemade salsa, and homemade preserves for my English muffins. That’s exactly why I love places like these.
Reason prices and big portions. I told my server it was my first time, which is probably why she was extra friendly and replaced my empty coffee cup right away. Either way, I’m satisfied!
Great place to come have a breakfast after a crazy night. Haha.

Came here for breakfast with the family… only thing, I didn’t feel like breakfast! Thankfully, they served breakfast AND lunch, so I was able to order something off the lunch menu. I opted for the tuna melt on sourdough with fries, while the others ordered traditional breakfast dishes.
Everything was enjoyed by all… just one thing that made this seemingly 5 star review a 4: the tuna salad was cold inside of my tuna melt! It was very tasty though, but would have been so much better, had it been grilled and THEN put on the bread and grilled again…
Oh, and a couple of other things to point out, the inside of the restaurant was clean, the server was prompt and kind.
