Disinterested, apathetic, bored looking, family store? No it isnt. 2 young hispanic gentlemen too interested in looking sort of tough in a goofy way than customer service instead of some nice old couple so I call bull crap on their rating.

Quite possibly the best hardware store left in America. Classic, old-style store where if you want one bolt, you can buy one bolt. The ladies that work in the store are awesome with an all most unnatural knowledge of where everything is. Wonderful. My go to place for real hardware.

When we were remodeling our own kitchen, we went to Home Depot 50 times. Okay, maybe not 50, but that’s what it feels like. GSA True Value saved us many trips to Home Depot. It is much closer and convenient. During the remodel we would need one thing or another and didn’t want to drive all the way to Home Depot. Extra set of specific nails, check. Wrong size screws? Not to fear, True Value is here. True Value was a huge time saver for us. On three different occasions we’ve needed stakes to nail certain things into the ground. We bought stakes for our shed, tarp, and swing set. Each of these times saved us a trip to Home Depot(and they worked out just fine). We bought a dolly here for a good price. We use it all the time. Whether it’s to move furniture in and out, or even bringing in bulky items from Costco, the dolly has paid for itself and then some. Overall true value is a convenient and solid place to shop for hardware, tools, and supplies.

I used to go to GSA when it was a huge place on Anaheim street west of Santa Fe. They consolidated and moved to PCH but still have the hard to get fasteners and hardware most places don’t stock. Like stainless, bronze and aluminum in both SAE and Metric. If you are a boater, this beats the well known boating place for price. I always shop here first.

Seemed impersonal at first, but the help was great and selection was terriffic. I needed some specialized hardward to lock down a document camera, so I dropped by. The guy at the checkout counter wasnt much help, but he called for the resident«hardware guru» to show me around the store. The guru is an older man with an accent, and I didn’t get his name. But he is so friendly and knowledgable that you’ll be glad you dropped by. Its out of the way, and a bit hard to find. But if you’re looking for that weird doo-hickie and need some wisdom along with it, then you’ll like this place.
