Updated review: the last time I came here the place seemed to be under new management. Completely different people who were rude. The massage was one of the worst I’ve ever had. I think the business might be closed now.

Came here with a friend for gels and a pedicure. Pedicure was half assed not horrible. Gels were terrible. Polish all over my skin. Started to peel off 5 days later.

parking but I parked around the corner with no problem.

These guys are next to the starbucks I visit on my way to work. Happy had been closed for 6 or 7 months for remodeling. I had a day off yesterday and got a manicure. It was not very good, the nails were all filed at different angles. Cut my cuticles too much and they have a bunch of jagged dry edges that I am afraid will tear my cuticle. I am putting Vaseline on them.
And the prices went way up.

So I normally go to Westminster for my regular $ 15 Chinese massage, but since I was going out of town and low on time I thought I’d try this place. Twenty bucks not too bad.
So I was telling the guy (Gus) that my back was killing me, he made sure to work it out. He found a lot of my knots and worked on them. Let’s just say I no longer need to drive out to Westminster for a massage. This guy was great and really nice. The only thing I found odd about the whole thing was that this was the first Chinese massage I has ever gotten that was not done by an Asian! Lol
FYI. A Chinese massage is considered a foot massage. Some people get confused.
I will be returning soon. But only for massage as I am loyal to my nail salon.
**So this was to be my original post, until I came back and this guy was gone! I tried this other guy there that was «supposed to be good» and he was horrible! He massaged my back worse than a boyfriend massaging you back who doesnt want to. You know the kind. You can feel him just pushing on your back rolling his eyes while he checks his phone. Ugh… To top it off, when the guy is done he never comes back to make sure everything was ok. So I went one more time after that…
Again this girl was supposed to be really good. Horrible! She used her elbows the entire time! And she just dugged them into my back! This place is now one of the worst places Ive been to. So its back to Westminster!!!

Not bad, also went here using a living social deal and treated my mom and sister to pedicures. They were really polite and although I called ahead to schedule an appointment we still waited about 15−20min. What was nice is that they brought us some fresh fruit and water while we waited. The pedi was fine, wasn’t too pleased with the manicure but overall I would come back to this place. My sister got crystal gel done on her manicure and said it was the cheapest by far she’s ever paid. She said she’d definitely go back since they did pretty well with the gel even when she messed it up, they fixed it without hesitation. Next time I want to try the foot massage.

Well, Julia did a good job, almoust without pain. Quickly.
But in general salon looks strange and dirty. I never been for nails there.
But lot of my friends tried a chinese massage, I’m looking forward to do that too!

Had an appointment at 9:30am, the place didn’t open till 10am. Had a gel set done… The guy doing my nails was horrible. Didn’t know what he was doing. Filed them way too short. The manager had to come over and «fix» them. Also a really poor color selection for gel. Ended up taking over 90 mins for gel nails and a pedicure. Would definitely not go back.

Horrible service, poor color selections, and don’t bother making an appointment as it is not honored. Made an appointment got there on time and waited forty minutes before I just walked out and went across the street where there was no wait.

I had bought a groupon for mani/​pedi but after reading all the reviews and seeing a few pics, I was so scared that I wanted to cancel my appointment. I’m glad I gave this place a chance because I actually liked my experience — I even bought 2 more deals after I got home! This place offers nail services, massages and even hair services. I actually saw 2 very happy customers walk out after getting a haircut (a man & a woman).
PROS:
–Friendly employees –Mimi did a great job on my manicure! My pedicure was okay but I didn’t get the other girl’s name. Also, kudos to the girl in the front desk, I think her name is Aileen. She greets u the minute u walk in, and hustles to help everyone in the salon.
–No upsells — I was not asked if I wanted to upgrade to a gel mani or if I wanted a design or any other services that will add $ to my tab. I actually had to ask for the callous removal (extra $ 5) & the lady told me that she’ll check first if I needed it.
–Extras — they serve everyone with a glass of water and bowl of fruit (cantaloupe, honeydew, & grapes)
CONS:
–A little slow, but then again, most mani/​pedi salons are always busy on a Sunday afternoon despite having an appointment
–No dryers. I found this one to be a little annoying coz I find it hard that a nail salon doesn’t have UV dryers by now. They had little fans for the manicure and I saw 2 portable hand dryers that I guess is used for gel manicures only but they didn’t have dryers for the feet!
In short, this place is not bad at all! I’m definitely coming back coz the Groupon deal is great — $ 18 for mani/​pedi. I normally pay at least $ 24 at other places just for the spa pedicure alone.
TIP: Parking is difficult to find so park at Albertsons which is just short walk from the salon.

I couldn’t wait to write a good review after I came here! I was a little iffy about this place after seeing the bad reviews but I had bought the deal on groupon already & there was no turning back lol. I was scared to go after seeing that everybody had bled from their visit, but I decided to give this place a try and I ended up having a fantastic experience!
They were very nice & had a smile on their face upon greeting me. I felt very welcomed and the place was nice inside. The thing that sucks is that you can’t park at the donut shop because it’s only for #1 Nails (which is right next door) and donut shop customers, which is where I parked and the stupid lady from #1 Nails told me to move my car so I just parked in the residential area just down the street. You can actually park at the Albertson’s which is around the corner as said on a sign inside the salon.
The nail polish selection wasn’t too bad, they have OPI & China Glaze. They don’t have Essie but there was still a great selection to choose from! A man did my pedicure & a lady did my manicure, they were kind and we were talking shit about the lady at #1 Nails hahaha. They sat me down on their massage chairs, I never really liked any type of massage chairs because they hurt so you might want to leave it off! I received a massage on my forearm and my calves, they used some type of warm spa lotions & it felt soothing. I did not bleed at all, they did my cuticles just fine.
I actually like my pedicure better than my manicure, the man took his time on me & kept complimenting me on how beautiful my nails were. It seemed as the lady rushed & did it a little carelessly but it still came out okay, I’d still come back for a mani pedi anyday! After it was all done, he helped me put my slippers on & even offered me water to drink. He was so sweet, I’ll definitely make sure to come back :)

$ 10 dollar haircut for men, AND I FOUND IT!
Okay. Fine. They mainly do pedi’s and mani’s here but who can turn down a $ 10 hairdo? Not I. I found it very surprising that cheap haircut in LB is $ 15. Oh hell no! Where I’m from (San Francisco YEEEEE), I never paid more than 10 bones.
The haircut itself was okay … I probably need to give more direction next time. A plus is they gave me water and fruit! Décor was not bad either. Wrap it all up with Vietnamese ladies, and this place is surely a fun visit.

I have been here 4 or 5 times and always had good experiences with manicures & pedicures except for the one time I received a full body massage (would not recommend).
Never bled. Never had to wait. Don’t mind walking a little from my car to get to the nail salon.
Just bought 2 more Deals. I’m sorry to hear that everyone is having bad experiences :(

The business was not represented accurately on the Living Social deal. It was HORRIBLE! I wish there was NO STARS because that is what I would give them.

Even with an appointment I had to wait.
The services I paid for with the deal were not provided even after I alerted the manicurist that they should be included. I was told no it was not included. However, on the business services & price list for what I paid for with the deal it should have been included. Notified the manager who said the manicurist probably didn’t understand English. This was not true because I was very clear w/​words & gestures & he understood other things I said like ouch when he was making me bleed.
The pedicurist & manicurist both broke the skin while cutting my cuticles now I’ll have sore fingers & toes for days.
I’m not confident that they even clean their tools correctly.
Save yourself pain & disappointment, DO NOT GO HERE! This place should be reported to OSHA if it isn’t already & the Better Business Bureau.

I really tried to like this place, unfortunately, the reviews from the Living Social folks were all soooo true! I can’t believe it’s the norm for people to BLEED HERE. The guy doing my pedi kept cutting my cuticles so deep that it bled after I said «ouch!» I was hoping he’d get the hint but continued to cut till he saw RED. He dabbed some ointment on it but who knows what the hell it is. My toe still freakn stings!
Bottom line; if I hadn’t already bought the Living Social deal I wouldn’t have gone.
Next time I’m just gonna hop in my car & drive to Lotus Nail Spa in Cerritos. Trust me its worth the drive.

Horrible! Sad I didn’t read all the reviews first and save myself the time and effort of going there.
First off, the place is still under construction and is loud and dusty. Horrible color selection. My toes came out ok but my nails are horrendous! I paid extra for a gel top coat that apparently did nothing. Both of my thumb nails chipped within the hour and a day later over half are messed up.
Save yourself the time, effort and frustration and don’t redeem this coupon.

I came to write about the Living Social $ 18 mani/​pedi/​foot massage deal, and saw that Tushita said EVERYTHING I was going to say. This place was absolutely HORRIBLE. I called on Monday to make an appointment for Wednesday and when I arrived they didn’t have me in the books at all. They only had two people doing nails and two chairs for customers. The nail technician/​receptionist/​hair cutter/​whatever else she does cut my cuticles so short they bled. and then she just painted over the dried blood. She couldn’t even cover the whole nail with the polish and the coat was really uneven. I had no idea nail salons could be this bad.
Their advertised price for mani/​pedi is normally $ 17. The lady insisted you also got a 5 minute massage. I never did! Just the regular 1 minute rub down EVERY nail salon already does with a pedicure. I consider the $ 1 extra I paid the tip that I never left them.
This place was absolutely disgusting. Their tools and the tubs were not sterilized or cleaned. They had maybe 30 colors to pick from and they were all cheap brands.
This place has only been open three months. I’m sure the 500+ people that bought this living social deal will be equally disappointed and they will soon be out of business.
DO NOT go here, whatever you do. There’s tons of other places in Long Beach that can do a much better job.

This review is for the LivingSocial $ 18 mani/​pedi/​foot massage deal. I hate leaving bad reviews, but this is quite possibly one of the WORST places I have ever been to. I was optimistic based on all the positive reviews of this place, but after my experience, this is a place that would be on a Dateline special about the horrors lurking at nail salons.
Myself and 2 friends went to get our mani/​pedi/​foot massage. Aesthetically, the place is nice. Spa-​like. There was ONE person getting a pedicure. The lady at the front said that we need to wait «30 minutes» and they could only do one person at a time. Okay… If they can’t handle 3 people, I’m not sure how they are going to handle the 900+ people who got the LivingSocial deal.
So we waited it out. They only had two foot tubs, two people to do nails (not even sure if they’re licensed?!), and guess how long I waited to get my nails done after my two friends? TWO HOURS. We arrived there at 5pm, and I didn’t get started till 7pm.
I’m just going to list out all my complaints here:
— Outside the store they are advertising a $ 7 manicure and an $ 11 pedicure. Ah, but the LivingSocial deal includes a foot massage, right? Guess again! The «massage» I got was the generic rub down with lotion that give you with EVERY pedicure.
— Their nailpolish selection is minimal. Don’t expect any brand names like OPI or Essie here. It’s literally dollar store nail polish, and the consistency/​application of the nail polish reflects that.
— They do not clean their tools with an autoclave. I wasn’t even sure if they were cleaned at all, but I later saw them rinse the tools off with water in the sink.
— The foot tub is not cleaned before or after each customer.
— The guy who did my nails did an AWFUL job, and I have the pictures to prove it. He left one toe and THREE fingernails bloody. He didn’t even have the decency to apologize.
— By the end of my manicure, the guy was getting sloppy. He painted one hand the wrong color, and instead of removing the color, he just painted the correct color over it! I told him to change it, but he didn’t!!! He also did not even stay within the nails, and the color bled out to my nail beds.
I was so unbelievably annoyed by the end of this, so I really just wanted to leave. For the record, I did NOT complain to the manager. Why? 1) I didn’t want to spend any more time in this hellhole and 2) really there’s nothing they could do to make the situation better. I never, ever plan on coming back here.
If I could give this place negative stars, I would. All of you who are going for a mani/​pedi, beware. There is literally nothing positive about this place.

LOVE LOVE LOVE! I have been here I think 3 times. Yes, you can get an hour foot massage for $ 20 at this time. It also includes some work on your back legs and arms… not a typical body massage but rather focused on reflexology points within your body. I prefer a deep tissue work, but this one does seem to deliver for relaxation after a stressful day. This is not the type of massage were you disrobe and lay under a sheet… they work over clothing and focus on your feet’s reflexology points.
Interior is beautiful. Rooms are private as they use curtain and dim lighting with soft music. They even have blankets if you need one.
There is a post below asking why the masseuse would wear latex gloves while doing a foot massage. Health and Safety (OSHA) and State Health Dept. mandate that «nail salons» nail techs wear gloves. I suppose it may be the same here. Personally I feel that it’s fine and it shows respect for both parties. Infections are able to be transmitted even with barely broken skin, athletes foot or MRSA. Frankly I am happy they wear protective gloves… it’s a welcome!
FYI this is not a typical nail shop salon spa as posted below stating there are serveral in a row on 7^th st. The difference is… they offer full salon services, hair cut services, massages, and yes they do nails as well. The other shops near by focus on nails predominately with some sparely offered waxing services for depilatory /​hair removal. THIS IS A FULL SERVICE SPA… SALON while the others have their services focus on nails, waxing that is it.
Love this place. Gave away a gift card to this salon for a bday present. I find the foot reflexology services and regular massage a big welcome to the area. I was tired of driving to Orange County for the same!

Ever since I heard of the magic of the cheap foot massage place many moons ago, I’ve wanted to go to one. Sadly, I just never made it happen. That is until the «Grand Opening! $ 10 Massage!» banner at Happy Salon & Spa caught my eye.
Yes. There is another salon on this stretch of 7^th street. Yes. It’s the 5^th salon/​spa/​whatever with less than a block. Here’s the thing — it’s the only one with a «spa» atmosphere. It’s quite surprising actually, and you really wouldn’t expect it from the outside. But once you are led to the «spa» waiting room, it’s really pleasant and quiet and just… nice.
The $ 10 foot massage was quite lovely. There aren’t private rooms, but everything is partitioned off by curtains, and it all has dim lighting and very comfy chairs. One thing that was a bit odd to me was that the guy wore latex gloves the whole time. Maybe that’s the norm for $ 10 foot massages, but it did seem a bit weird. Otherwise, I really liked the whole experience and am eager to go back for a full body massage for a mere $ 30.
