Drove by this place a few days ago, ITISCLOSED, will be called Le Shisk… SOON! Should be interesting! Both for locals and tourists, no boundaries where the locals go!

I’m such a fan of their other location on 2nd St. that I had really high expectations for this branch. PROS: –They take reservations –Bigger place and has a private room for big parties –Not crowded so no wait to get a table(atleast when we came) –There’s a pay parking lot right next to the restaurant CONS: –Service is horrible. We had to get up quite a few times to get our server’s attention… or ANY server for that matter. A game was going on so all their backs were to us because they were all fixated on the TV by the bar. –Their food is very much different to the main location. –The moules was too salty. I had to have it fixed in the kitchen and when they replaced it, it was still SALTY! I was so disappointed because I was already craving for this dish and didn’t want anything else. I ended up getting the crêpe Dipollo. It was good but at that point, I was already bummed out and couldn’t really enjoy my meal. –Garlic fries were stale and some came out soggy. Gross! –I was looking forward to my favorite dessert which was the Martinique, but that too fell short for me. The flambee came out a bit watery. It saddens me to write this review and give only two stars but that’s just the truth of it.

I came here early with my girl for an art class that was held in the restaurant on Sunday, so we decided to give the place a try. Boy! We were glad we did! We ordered the French Riviera to share and it was one of the best savory crepes I’ve ever eaten! Chunks of moist chicken breast and artichoke hearts that were soaked in this yummy cream sauce wrapped inside this thin crêpe with a topping of mozzarella. It was the perfect combination of texture, creaminess and saltiness with just the right amount of sauce. What do you get at end after all said and done? An empty plate and a very satisfied stomach! Café Au Lait and Peach Iced Tea was the usual fare, but the restaurant definitely had a great ambience with both the indoor and outdoor seating. Great service and a prime location. I would definitely come back to try other items in their menu!

Sadly, the food here has been getting less and less tasty. Every time I come here the food has been not up to par. I usually get the Pollo Panini sandwich and for some reason, my chicken is always cold, my cheese isn’t even melted, and my bread isn’t even toasted. The fries barley have garlic in them. The only thing I can give them some stars for is their crepes. They are just OK in my opinion.

First time I came here I was craving mimosas extremely bad and found this place on Unilocal. It took my friends and I a couple of times going around the block because this place is a hit or miss. La Creperie Café is right next to Café Sevilla’s next to the parking lot. It is really small so drive slowly. Wait! Don’t drive tooo slow in case you are reading this while driving. Careful, Long Beach has many police just waiting to give someone a ticket. Park in Valet or next door for your convenience. As we were walking in the entire décor was lovey! There was an Indie band playing nothing but acounstic songs which set the mood on this rainy afternoon. According to the host, they play every Sunday afternoon. Yayy! :) Happy me. Brunch was delicious! We order a bottle of champaign for $ 20.00 and our second bottle was $ 25.00. It came with 4 mixes, orange juice, water melon, cranberry, and peach! Awesome. Everything was great until I made my second return for a birthday party. Me being the crazy Unilocaler that I am I made this place a recomendation to my family. I had such a great experience I wanted to have that experience again. My family and I came back on a Wednesday night for my sister bday for dinner. We came with a party of 16 people and made reservations prior to arrival. Our tables were nicely set and the waiter was waiting for us. As we sat patiently for the take our orders they never came. Our drinks never arrived on time, our food was cold, and my soup was beyonddd salty!!! :(We had to returned several pates back and had to wait while the rest of our parties ate. The waiter did all he could to keep us happy, but i dont think it was his fault but the people running the kitchen, unfortunately. We were the only ones in this restaurant on this night, so I know it wasn’t due to the restaurant being busy. I had my share of good and bad so I’ll rate this place as an A-OK! I don’t think I will ever be back for dinner, but maybe I’ll be back for brunch.

Let me say that I am not the biggest fan of crepes, so the best I can say is that the service was good and that I was satisfied with the meals I have had here. The ambiance is wonderful. It’s along 2nd street and they have a delightfully decorated inside and outside area. I like the high ceilings combined with large mirrors/art pieces and chandeliers. Breakfast crepes range from around $ 8 – 12 while lunch & dinner savory crepes are around $ 9 – 14. The crepes are well sized and constructed. I would recommend the Al Mare and the Zorba. The Al mare(if you guessed from the name) is a seafood crêpe that has jumbo shrimp complemented by the lobster basil crème sauce. The sweetness of the sun dried tomatoes are a good contrast to the savory flavors of the cream sauce and cheese. It is not too seafoody and is mild enough for many taste buds. The Zorba filled is with wonderfully sauteed spinach that is complemented by the feta cheese and kalamata olives which gives it a light mediterranean taste. Their wine and beer list is well rounded and has a good representation of many styles and flavors.

I think the food quality of this place just doesn’t align with their service. They have excellent crepes, really really good! Out of 3 that we ordered, the dipollo(savory) and tiramisu crepes really stand out. The sherry cream sauce for the dipollo was delicious and complimented the ingredients(with ham and a lot of mushrooms!!) very well. The tiramisu crêpe was just wonderful, it is literally tiramisu wrapped in a crêpe, topped with 2 scopes of ice cream, and poured with vanilla/chocolate sauce. The portion of their crepes was huge too. It will be good to share one of the sweet crepes for dessert between 2 people. One thing that caught my eye was the crème brûlée crêpe! I love crème brûlée and I have never seen a crêpe version of it elsewhere! Based on how good the tiramisu crêpe was, I know I have to come back another time to try it out! The service though, is really slow… :(The two savory crepes took about 30mins to come out. And not just us, I noticed that for other tables too. The sweet crêpe was much faster though. They need to hire another chef, right now!!! Our server, a super nice guy but not very well-trained. Sometimes we have to wait a while for him to turn around for us. At the end of our meal, he was trying to clean up the table but accidentally dropped a knife close to the woman sitting next to us. He apologized immediately and tried to joke about it. but too late, she was mad enough! Anyways, I will come back for a Sunday brunch as they have someone sing and play music at that time. But only if I’m not in a rush :)

We were starving after leaving Agaves and found our way at La Creperie Café for dinner. My friends treated me to birthday dinner with crepes! EXCELLENT. I had the French Riviera crêpe which had artichokes, garlic, chicken, mozzarella, and tomatoes in a cream sauce. It was heavenly. We also shared garlic fries which were crispy and reeked of garlic(in a good way). The wine is 50% off bottles on Monday and Tuesdays. If you ever get the chance order the Red Velvet crêpe! It’s so delicious! All of us were really happy with our meals. Thanks La Creperie for accommodating our large group!

This location is everything you’d want the 2nd Street location to be. Large and roomy, with an ample patio, accommodating for groups, and without a long wait. What it lacks of 2nd Street’s shabby-Bohemian-French-chic character, it makes up for with a clean, open space that is very accessible on Pine Ave. We had a group of 8, that grew to 9, then 13, and La Creperie was totally accommodating of our group(«Thanks guys, but… isn’t it a fire hazard to connect tables in front of that door?»). It was a relatively slow Tuesday night, and we were the only group in the place. Our table had a variety of crepes from both the sweet and savory sides of the spectrum. The French Riviera was a complex crêpe with a sherry basil cream sauce that was totally unique. The Crêpe Monsieur was cheese lover’s heaven. The Crêpe Suzette and Banana Cream Pie were enjoyed by many, but I didn’t try them. And I can’t find the Red Velvet Crêpe on the online menu, but holy crap was that amazing. My go-to is the Au Bön Curry, and I was delighted to be able to enjoy it here — just as though I was on 2nd Street, but without the cramped dining area and the long wait! Half off bottles of wine on Mondays and Tuesdays! Apparently there’s a parking structure close by that offers two free hours with validation, and La Creperie does validate. You may just have to do a little searching for parking, but it’s worth it in this part of town!

There’s nothing that really sets La Creperie apart from the other restaurants around the area. Well, I take that back. What sets La Creperie apart from the others is that it seems to be the emptiest restaurant on the block during the major lunch rush that downtown LB always seems to get. I’ve been here several times and each time the service was a little awkward. Don’t get me wrong. The servers were really nice, but just a tad awkward in the sense that they’re not meant to be servers. Less smiles and not as attentive, maybe? I can’t quite put my finger on it. The food is A-OK. I would stick with the traditional crepes and garlic fries instead of settling for the cheaper lunch menu(a mistake I made). Lunch menu items are really inexpensive but your choices are just the ultra-basics such as sandwiches or a ham and cheese crêpe. If you’re going to dine here, get what they’re known for, which is their crepes filled with the good stuff and topped off with their creamy sauces. Recommendation? The Al Mare.

Alright. I’m torn. wanna know why? Well. let’s see. Does the restaurant meet its expectations? I expected it to be pretty. but the food… well…let’s talk later. This place IS beautiful. The bohemian, french atmosphere is definitely not lacking. Glimmering chandeliers casting sensual dim lighting, extravagant mirrors hanging on their tall, tall walls, little tea candles lit on every dining table… a mural painting right above the bar highlighting several Parisian landmarks. I loooove that you have room to breathe! Oh wow. I didn’t notice it until our waitress told my friend and I that she works both locations in Long Beach(the one on 2nd and this one), and she much preferred this one. Why? Well on the 2nd location, the tables are pretty squeezed together, and the waiter felt so awkward being up in someone’s personal space while taking their order. And the entertainment just makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a little café in Paris, their music softly wafting in the air. The music is different on several nights. And then the meal. Meh. meh. meh. I had the chicken marsala with mashed potatoes, and right then and there was the only time I was disappointed in the place. And that’s important, yo! The chicken, as my friend, who dined with me that night, had said, it’s over cooked. Rubbery. The mashed potatoes and the vegetables were seasoned well, but I was looking oh-so-forward to the chicken! I’m a carnivore, honey boo boo. My friend ordered The Parisian, and she had said the same. The food was… okay. The dessert was on a different level. Indulgent, rich, magnificent. We shared a tiramisu crêpe. They pack in pieces of tiramisu into your crêpe, and top it off with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream. I’m dying to go back there to try the red velvet cake crêpe they have. Yes. RED. VELVET. CAKE. CREPE. So, to summarize: Atmosphere: OUTOFTHISWORLD! Entertainment: GOODGOLLY, MISSMOLLY, IT’S GOOD! Dessert: Si délicieux !!! Meal: Mehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Tip: While the 2nd Ave. location does NOT take reservations, this location(on Pine Ave.) does. Tip: If you have a big group, go to this location instead of the 2nd Ave. location.

I’ve been to La Creperie on 2nd street and thought it was fantastic, but this one is much better! Maybe it was the event I went to but it definitely made an impression on me. I came for a baby luncheon so we were set up in a semi-private room, with the great set-up of flowers and tables for gifts. The servers were all super sweet and attentive, never wasting a second to refill drinks or helping in any way they can. I got to try the cheese plate appetizer, along with mix green salad for appetizers. For entrée I got their churizo quiche. And dessert was their famous red velvet crêpe. I love their cheese spread! Highly recommend you order that, the cheese was out of this world tasty. The churizo quiche was extremely flavorful, but not spicy if you’re worried. It’s moist and the crust was crispy and flaky. I thought it was one of the best quiche I’ve had to date. Now, the famous red velvet crêpe. It’s famous for a good damn reason. It’s stuffed with strawberries and red velvet cake, with all sorts of goodness drizzled on top. My only negative comment is the crêpe was overcooked and dry. It was hard to cut. But I overlooked it, because of the wonderful service of the manager and staff. I wasn’t the mom-to-be but I knew she had a fantastic time, and we have La Creperie to thank for that.

YUMMY! I love crepes. I gave my friends a choice for linner(between lunch and dinner) dining. They chose my fav. We walked here from the Aquarium. The décor was surprisingly… Middle Eastern versus France. The restaurant is long, so has the unfortunate mishap mix of diners separated by a 5′ something to the bar with t.v.s. The kitchen(on the way to the loo) has a large glass window so you can see the crepes being made. The smell of heaven hits you as you enter(yeah, I didn’t know heaven had a special aroma either, until this writing). I’ve been to the one on 2nd Street before. Heaven multiplied. This was my first foray to this downtown location. It’s a little piece of heaven as well. We were three, so decided to order the prix fixe for two+1. I told them it was too much food. They didn’t care. We ended up cancelling our evening plans so we could stay and eat well. :) We had attentive service. We had excellent food. All that was missing was a live band – which came to set up as we were asking for the check. Overall GREAT experience.

I have a obsession with crepes, I just love theme. Whether its from a street cart on the infamous Champs-Élysées in Paris or the farmers market in Seattle, I adore a good crêpe, both savory or sweet. I’ve been coming to La Creperie Café for over a decade now. I love the Il Mare savory crêpe. Its filled with jumbo shrimp, sun-dried and plum tomatoes, wild mushrooms, shallots and mozzarella cheese topped with a lobster basil cream sauce. Its truly divine! On my most recent trip, I also had the Apple Pain Perdue and the Quiche Lorraine. I was surprised how perfect the texture, softness, and moisture content was in the quiche. It was rich and decadent. Definitely worth ordering again. The pain perdue was ok, nothing too spectacular, and not exactly a pain perdue in its purest form. Don’t order the cappuccinos here. They aren’t hot and totally taste watered down. That was the main reason(besides the not so friendly slow service) this place isn’t getting a 5 star from me. If I wanted my cappuccino cold, I would have asked for it iced! But if you’re into crepes and all you want are delicious crepes, you must come here and try the Il Mare along with the dozen other crêpe varieties they serve here!

Tried this one night with a group of friends out in Long Beach. I tried the Crêpe Tiramisu which was ridiculously sweet, insta-diabetes sweet. Don’t get me wrong, my friends and I liked it… but just be warned. But my g/f tried the Bolero, and according to one of my friends, a French immigrant, who was also with us, it’s very French. So with that, its seems that the crepes are fairly«authentic» and the flavors and variations are there. The atmosphere is ok… kind of confusing as there are flat screen TVs showing the sporting event games going on, as well as a small trio on the side playing some loungy, jazz music. But if you could care less about the atmosphere and more about the food, then you’re in the right place.

This location reminds me of a movie sequel. It’s not as good as the original but it still worth checking out. Located on Pine Ave in Downtown LB, this La Creperie is a bit bigger than the original one located in Belmont Shore. The décor is pretty much identical as the original except this one has a bigger outdoor dining patio. The menu is also pretty much the same with the exception of a few new items. Most importantly this location offers the always amazing garlic fries appetizer. I have been to this location a handful of times but most recently we came on New Years Eve 2011. My wife, my cousin and I arrived here around 8pm and even though Pine was packed, we were able to get great seats on the patio where we were able to watch all the drunks that were stumbling up and down Pine Ave. Did you know all their crepes can be made into pastas? No. Well, they can and that’s what we did on NYE. I had Parisian Angel Hair Pasta My wife and cousin both had Linguini Bolognese For dessert we all split the Banana Cream Pie Crêpe All the food was good but the best part of the evening was they were offering $ 12 bottles of champagne. Since it was NYE, we had three bottles. FUN. FUN. FUN. Service is good. Prices are too. If you happen to find yourself on Pine Ave in DTLB and are hungry, check out La Creperie Café.

We came here very early in the morning and as we were walking in one of the servers said hello to us as she was walking in to work. I was impressed by her friendliness. I mean, there is no need to say hello to a customer before your shift and so early and most people won’t but she did! Nice! La Creperie is very beautiful inside. It has blue accents which are brightened up by the inclusion of large mirrors on the walls and chandeliers above. There is a nice painting of the Paris cityscape above the bar area. The place is bigger than you would expect. There is an outside dining area which would be excellent for people watching but we were here very early and it was kind of cold. Our server was also very friendly and she did a great job. She was wearing a really cute black shirt with the words La Creperie in shiny red rhinestones. Interestingly enough one of the server’s assistants was wearing the same shirt and he was a guy — cute! I ordered the Parisian crêpe and OMG it was tres delicieux!!! First of all the crêpe had an excellent consistency. The crêpe was in a creamy basil sauce and filled with a nicely cooked chicken breast. It was topped with a slice of chicken breast and feta cheese! Wow!!! It was about $ 11. We also ordered a nutella and strawberry crêpe. Once again the crêpe was very well made. There was not enough nutella though and the fact they put chocolate sauce on top of the crêpe lessened the nutella taste. The chocolate sauce was beautifully dripped on top of the crêpe in circular patterns though — and I really mean beautiful! La Creperie is in Downtown Long Beach so if you like you can actually walk to the beach from it. It’s not too too far! Parking can be difficult but if you look around there is a structure about a block or so away where you can park free for two hours!

This is the same restaurant as the branch in Belmont Shore. I love both, but this location is probably better if you’ve got a big group or are looking to be seated right away, whereas the other one is more of a «dining while people watching» type of place, IMO. I love their Au Bön Curry crêpe, but I would steer clear of the Croque Monsieur crêpe, which I normally love at other places but I can’t get past how overly cheesy this one was(and I love cheese). I think other than that, this place pretty much hits the spot. Try the Snickertini!

I finally got the chance to try out this location for the first time the other night. One of my Zeta sis’s was throwing a surprise birthday dinner for our other Zsis and had decided on this La Creperie because it was bigger than the Belmont Shores one. Parking is wherever you can find parking — there’s like two parking structures if you keep going on Pine and make a right on Broadway. Well, I must say, it definitely a lot more roomier here. Plenty of space to walk around. There’s a pretty decent sized bar, a somewhat private room in the back, and also an outdoor patio area to sit and eat at as well. We were seated in the back private room — it was somewhat bare except for the mural on the wall, but from the room, you can see through the window and watch the cooks in the kitchen. It was actually my first time trying something off of the savory crepes section as well. I usually only go to La Creperie for brunch. I decided to go with Le Saumon($ 13.95) — a smoked and fresh filet of salmon with red onions, dill, tomatoes, capers and mozzarella in a cream sauce. I didn’t really want it in a crêpe, so I asked for it to be with pasta instead(for an extra $ 1.50). Really glad I got this. It was freaking deliciousssss. I absolutely loved the cream sauce. The salmon was cooked perfectly in my opinion. It was huge though, so I had to take home what I couldn’t finish(nuked it the next day and it STILL tasted pretty bomb). For $ 16, it was definitely worth the price. My Zsis who planned the dinner also bought a cake as well. They actually charge you $ 2 a plate for them to cut the cake for you, but our server, who was prettyyyy cute if I must say so myself, said that he’d only ring it up as $ 1. Despite his nice gesture, we decided on cutting it ourselves. The service was pretty good. We only had the one server for our party of 8. He was really nice and was always coming by to check up on us. It sucked though because the host sort of killed the surprise when the birthday girl showed up by asking her if she was here for the surprise party. Fail. Our server sorta killed the surprise about the cake as well because he mentioned it in front of her, when she didn’t know about the cake. Anyways, I think this place would be pretty good for a date since it’s in the heart of DTLB. There’s always something going on down here so you can probably stop by and have dinner here and then go about and explore the rest of the area. I would probably come back in the future just to avoid the parking in Belmont Shores since this place is SLIGHTLY better with the neighboring parking structures.

Perfection! More outside space for this Belmont Shores gem that reached all the way to Downtown LB. Taking over the old Hooters, La Creperie Café offers more space, more lively people watching and friendlier staff. Everyone from the hosts/hostesses to the bartender had an attitude adjustment to high sweetness. Maybe its also an affect from the excitement by the regulars and locals who have been waiting for Creperie to finally open. I’m already biased on the flavor, but everything tastes exactly the same, probably since they brought over the original chef for today’s opening. We started with the Garlic French Fries, a glass of Grigio and a Café Mocha. My husband enjoyed his Crêpe Carbonara, while I basically inhaled my Parisian in under 2 mins! Still willing to stuff our faces, we had a sweet crêpe, EACH. My Marie Antoinette crêpe made my tummy thank me(awesome as usual, but you’ll have to ask, since they’ve taken it off the menu) and he got the Brand New Red Velvet crêpe(it’s like candy melting in your mouth) and a cup of coffee. Everything for $ 60 +tip. Four crepes, garlic fries and three drinks, not bad for a great date and a good walk home to burn off all that deliciousness. I now can’t wait to wake up and having morning champagne brunches in my favorite restaurant only a couple blocks away from home!
