LA Pool Guys

Have been trying to get in contact with someone regarding starting services and no one answers. If this isn’t a red flag of how their service will be then I don’t know what is.

The pools service was OK, but spotty. Our pool tech changed 4 times in a year, the log they were supposed to fill out when they came was never filled out. A few weeks the tech didn’t show. When I would read the chemical levels myself, sometimes they were good, sometimes off. Part of the regular service was supposed to be backlashing and cleaning the filter, but after a year, we noticed the pump no longer had pressure. When we inspected it further, we found it had never been cleaned and was completely clogged and filled with algae.
Billing was also a challenge. Twice we were given credits because of the tech that didn’t show, and work not done. Neither time were they applied. The first time, I had to remind them and forward the email to billing, the second time I let it go. There were also two occasions where the payments were not applied correctly and I had to go through my records to correct them. Once it was reconciled right away, the second time I never heard back, but kept getting email reminders that my account was past due.

Joel takes care of the pool so well. It took a while to have it blue again. I have up on fixing the chemical levels after few weeks after the water pump broke. It’s 3 months already and I haven’t paid anything extra besides the monthly fee. I was disappointed that I haven’t received the recommendations and first service report as promised but after a phone call I got all the info and suggestions on the equipment and future actions. So far I’m very happy on the service and I hope it ‘ll stay like that!

The team at LA Pool Guys are professional, courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. They are well priced and easy to work with. I’d recommend them to anyone!

LA Pool guys were recommended by my brother’s pool service in San Diego as we didn’t know who to use in LA. What a great company. The techs are knowledgable and dependable. The pricing is very reasonable as we just put a small, rectangular lap pool in our new house. They seem to know everything about all the new equipment, and someone gets back to you literally within minutes if you happen to have a question or concern. One can email or call directly. This is a no stress company and we can not recommend them more highly.

This company is very unprofessional. Horrible customer service. The tech that was assigned to our pool isn’t a tech. He’s more like a pool cleaner guy. We had a couple of issues before they came in, which is why we hired them. Little did we know that while trying to fix those issues, this tech created new problems and broke our equipment.
After the first few incidents, I asked to have a new pool guy sent out because we weren’t satisfied with the work of the current guy. Did we get a new pool guy? NOPE! And instead of taking ownership of the mistakes their guy was doing, they had the audacity to try to blame US for whatever mistake was done. They tried to do the «HE SAID SHE SAID» game and I found that profoundly unprofessional. Isn’t there a «rule”/saying that «the customer is always right?» Now I know there are instances where the customer isn’t right but there are better ways to handle the situation.
Another issue we’ve had is with the billing. I get emails with invoices and asking for permission to charge whatever work they’ve done and sometimes they’ve sent so many invoices that I just said to charge whatever outstanding balance there is. With that in mind, I think that everything that needs to be charged would be. Nope, I get emails later saying that I still to pay for X thing or Y thing when I thought they were already paid for.
Overall, I would say my family would have been better off hiring someone to fix the pool issues and then maintaining the pool ourselves.

UPDATE to previous problems… as I stated in my first review, these guys are great at upkeep and reasonable as well as dependable. I had some mis-​communication with the company about getting a new service start AND their were problems with the hot tube filter being clogged etc. Suffice it to say that after a rigorous search for a repair person who could diagnose the problem the hot tube is finally working. So other than the delays and mis-​communications the end result is that the hot tub is finally working and is being maintained well. I am happy with the result… and I recommend LA Pool Guys for maintenance as well as repair work — with patience they will not give up and will get it right. D

We bought our house last year and the one thing I’ve always wanted was my own in-​ground jacuzzi. I was finally able to fulfill that dream. it’s wonderful. i just didn’t know that i also had to maintain it to keep it from going all green on me. haha. I took my own youtube lessons on how to maintain your spa and i finally figured out how to do it… somewhat. and then came along the living social promo for a pool cleaning. I figured it was time to have a professional look at this. I’m always a little weary about these living social deals. Sometimes they don’t pan out. especially those house cleaning deals! (btw don’t ever buy a house cleaning deal on livingsocial. they are all a bunch of croc). go to

Anyway, this pool cleaning living social deal started out kinda ugly. had a no show, and i was kinda upset, but i called back, and they apologized and they went out of their way to go and make things right. At the end of the day, it actually helped my perception of this company. They might have dropped the ball initially, but they went completely out of their way for a stranger to go and make sure that they made things right for me. And to me, that stands out. They promptly sent out another guy and gave me a heads up phone call to prep me for the visit. And they were totally honest. Didn’t try to upsell me on anything i didn’t need. it was just an honest cleaning and inspection and some recommendations that i should change the filter soon. No B.S. about anything else.
it was such a different experience than the nightmares i’ve had to face with the house cleaning living social vouchers.
So i’m gonna be calling these guys back to clean my spa every few months from here on out.

Just moved into our new home in Rossmoor with a spa. A friend recommended LA Pool guys for the maintenance of the spa. Signing up was very easy and Rene (pool cleaner) was very professional and informative. He always gives me advise on how to save money on maintenance rather than up-​selling me on other unnecessary products. After dealing with so many subcontractors on our remodel who try and squeeze as much money as they can from you and end up being flaky, it has been a breath of fresh air to deal with LAPG who are straight forward, on time, and professional.
