I am no stranger to nursing/​rehab facilities as my mother has numerous medical issues and has needed to be in and out of them occasionally for rehab till she could return home. Currently she is at Pacific Villa and it is AWFUL let me break down the incidents. I visit daily and everytime I ask a nurse to help me get my mom up I am informed they are too busy it is dinner, lunch, medicine time, bath time, etc. Now I understand you have things to do but not once have I received a nice answer like sure in 30 min they make you feel like your annoying them to get your mother some help… geez why be a nurse then at least have a bedside manner. Other incident: Crazy lady in room next to my mom throws a soiled diaper at the nurse, same crazy lady runs down hall to beat up the nurse while this is not the facilities fault they seemed at a loss for what to do in this situation. Other incident: Lady that sleeps next to my mother tried to hit my mother which was witnessed by the other resident in the room when I informed the director he acted like he never heard of the incident when I know darn well he had as I over heard the resident inform him of the incident. The director here is callous and not welcoming he also seems irritated to deal with issues. Many patients have dementia or some issue and the staff should have empathy for the patient and family. And well if you do not visit your loved one I feel sorry for the patient here they will never ever be sat down and spoken to they will be herded from place to place as mandated by law but you will not see a simple conversation between the nurse and the patient. They need more staff, nicer staff, training on empathy and common decency. Come on Pacific Villa where is your human compassion step it up.
