Trashy, and yet I have had some great times here! Definitely depends what kind of attitude you are bringing. If you already know the type of place this is, and all you want is to dance, you should have a blast! As girls we have waited to get served at the bar every time frame from seconds to over half an hour(it wasn’t even crowded, we figured it was because our last two rounds had been bought by a couple guys and the girl bartender had it out for us for some reason, whatever). Dance wise — like the fact they mix the DJs up on any given night, BUT depends what is played when it comes to people«getting their dance on!» You may want to check out the DJ line up and see who has the better reviews. The place needs to be renovated!

This has to be the trashiest place I have ever been and I hangout in South Central. My friend decided to have her birthday party at Shore Ultra Lounge and Kurupt was performing. We arrived at 10.45 and there was plenty of free parking. This meant that there was plenty of people drinking in their cars before they made it into the club. There was a $ 20 cover to get in. Really? I love how the low end places always have a cover but nicer places don’t since they make their money off of alcohol sales. We make our way in and there is a large patio with a bar and some seating. About 17 people are standing around. I say 17 because it for sure had to be less than 20. This place is crawling in sadness. The crowd is what I would refer to as the desperate and sort of know it. I was one of the thinner girls there which is horrifying since polite people would refer to me as plus size. It might as well have been Club Bounce. The positive is that there is no qualification to get in, the downside is only those that have been rejected from even the lowest bar show up. My estimate on the crowd size was about 100, my friend thought more like 250. She then had to subtract all the people who thought they were performers and just stood on the stage and the clubs employees, her estimate went down to 150. That is still a small group for the large area of the club. It is funny watching people on stage pretend that there is even a crowd. At anytime I could have done jumps and leaps through the dance floor, arms flying and not touch anyone. There was a guy who was missing teeth. There were several women who looked pregnant. A lot of dusty cornrows on mid-40 year old men. Overall this club is sad and makes me want to cry on the inside.

At first thought clubbing sounded like a good idea because I can’t remember the last time I was in a club so when the birthday girl decided to celebrate here we all went along with it. Entrance is sketchy. I saw the sign from PCH but soon realized I had parked way too far by the hotel and the club is actually on the other side. That’s a bit confusing for a first timer. Enter off the Marina not PCH. There’s no cover charge if you get here before 10PM. Score! We had a reserved booth with bottle service and drinks flowed all night long plus there were some girls on hand serving up some strong shots. We danced for a bit, hung out on their patio but after a while it was getting to be too much and the place was losing its appeal. There’s only so much meat market talk a girl can take and drunk guys trying to buy you drinks just isn’t all that appealing :) Shore Ultra Lounge has an awesome bathroom attendant named Louise and the Saturday night band Spazmatics was awesome! Clubbing isn’t really my thing anymore but once in a while it isn’t bad I guess.

A friend of mine had her birthday here a few weeks ago. I’d been scoping this place out for a while and was excited to finally visit it. Parking was plentiful and free. We got there before 10:30pm and there was no cover charge for us. Just a quick I.D. check and we were in. Huge patio area, just outside the front door. There’s a small outside bar outside and several cushioned seats around the edges of the patio. This became an awesome retreat to get some fresh air and chat with friends. Having the outside bar was also VERY convenient since the inside bar does get crowded. Our friend had requested bottling service, so we had our own reserved seating area. They brought out a bottle of vodka and a lit firework sparkler for the birthday girl. After the initial shock of seeing someone with a lit firework walking towards you, I thought it was a really cool birthday gesture. It certainly grabbed the attention of all other eyes in the immediate vicinity. I mean, which sounds more kick-ass to you? A waitress coming to you with a small slice of cake with a miniature birthday candle in it… or a waitress coming to you with a bottle of top-shelf vodka and a lit firework?(Let’s be honest, now) It was Saturday night, so there was a live DJ playing Pop/Top 40 dance music. And then a live band called«The Spazmatics» came out later and put on an AWESOME show. It’d be worth visiting Shore just to see them. The décor is O.K. overall. Parts of the club look kinda posh, while other sections look a bit dive-y. Casual dress for the most part. Most guys were sporting jeans & nice shirts. All the girls wore the usual club attire. The crowd is a strange mix of people. Which is honestly not a bad thing, in my opinion. It was interesting seeing the young hipsters as well as the slightly older crowd. It made for a much more diverse atmosphere where nobody felt out-of-place. There was a certain amount of patrons that appeared to be from the rougher part of town. I also concur with Unilocaler Ergee A. that there are a substantial amount of guys who were«creepers». A lot of guys on the prowl, looking for single ladies on the dance floor. But honestly, that’s what you’d probably expect from a non-exclusive nightclub with no cover before 10:30pm? You’re gonna attract people from all walks of life. In general, the crowd seemed easy-going and just wanted to enjoy themselves. And at no time did the atmosphere ever feel The entire night was very enjoyable. We had such a good time that we didn’t leave until the security guys shoo’d us out the door. And although the reserved table and bottling service was nice, I can honestly say that I would’ve had just as much fun without it since I spent most of the time on the dance floor and not taking advantage of the bottling service amenities. Shore Ultra Lounge is a solid 4-star for me. Will I be going back? Most definitely. If only just to watch The Spazmatics again.

We got invited here for a friends bday bash. So of course i did some Unilocaling before-hand…the reviews were pretty mixed. There’s plenty of parking, no line to get in. $ 10 b410:30p. It’s pretty casual dress. Went in just as the Spazmatics were about to perform. Man! They put on a good show. I’d definitely come back to see them play. Besides the awesome 80s tune and some hip hop and top 40s … good lord there’s a lot of cougars, pumas, bears… whatever you wanna call them in there! And they were pretty fug… This sure ain’t the place to find a decent hook-up fellas.

One word. Creepers! holy crap were there a lot of them. Went here with the wifey and our friends. There were dudes giving my girl glow stick necklaces and trying to get her on stage. Another was just all over her and was not deterred by the fact that she told him she was married. All this was happening while I stood on the sidelines. Granted, I am not the jealous type but damn, these guys cannot get a clue. Out of my own amusement I let it go as far as I saw fit. My wife probably liked the attention. So, I let her flirt with them, but stepped in when I got bored/tired of it. The place itself is not one of my favorites. This will be my first and last time going there. It’s definitely not because of the creepers. LOL. It’s just that it just feels like a crappy place. Just like how my 2 stars describes it; I’ve experienced better.

This place has a lot of potential, but I’m not sure what I want out of it. One on hand, the drinks aren’t crazy expensive like LA places & there aren’t crazy lines to deal with yet on the other hand, there isn’t any dress code so it may seem ghetto at times. Of course I’ll continue to go here since it’s a local spot & we know the bartender there.

Went here on a Saturday night to watch the Spazmatics who is band that plays 80’s music and puts on a great performance! Came here with girls and guys so with the right people and with the awesome band, we had a great time. Drinks are bit weak but price is good so I guess you get what you pay for. Didn’t pay an entrance fee. I can’t tell if there is a dress code because I saw guys with tshirts but mostly everyone was kinda dressed up. Sneakers ok. Other than that, it’s Long Beach so you ever have been to a club in LB, you know the crowd. Must go on Saturday to watch the Spazmatics at least once.

Can someone please explain to me why there is a sign that says Shore Ultra Lounge Main Entrance when you can’t even get in from there? It was my first time at this«club”/lounge. I’ve never been when it was Sachi’s, but from the reviews I’m going to assume that the interior is much nicer now. That being said, the feel I first got from this spot was that it was trying hard to be fancy and failed. The dance floor was pretty big and wasn’t at all crowded when we got there. I did like the outside patio and mini bar though. The service was good. We never waited too long to order and it wasn’t a mission to get to the bar, but those drinks were weak. Even my Jacks with a splash of Coke were weak. Another lady bartender restored my faith and my next one… Well, it got the job done! I thought the beer bottles were cool looking, but I’m just a sucker for nice packaging. The music was mostly top 40s/hip-hop throughout the night. After a few drinks that’s exactly what I want to listen to and get my grooooove on. The highlight of the night for me was seeing the live band. The reviews are true… The Spazmatics were a great 80s cover band! Overall, I had a good time just hanging out. Would I go back? Sure if it was free again, but hell no for their outrageous $ 10 cover for a wanna be Hollywood spot. Price Range: $$$$(just for that cover, lol)

The Ultra Lounge is Ultra Lame. It’s a place trying(and failing) to be something it’s not – namely a posh club with table service. I went with a group of girls and we got table service which was expensive – $ 350 for a bottle of Vodka? Service was adequate, but I expected more attention. The place was dead until 11:30pm. The crowd picked up only when the Spazmatics started playing – the 80s cover band was great, and it was totally rad(in 80s speak) to dance and sing to tunes I blasted on my awesome tape player in my Toyota Supra in high school. The crowd was slightly crass, people making-out on the dance floor, drunk fights, spilling drinks and generally acting like foolios(group of fools). It’s in a great location, but poorly designed and poorly executed. This place has two things going for it – the Spazmatics(when they are playing) and the tacos outside. That’s exactly what you need when you are drinking and dancing – cheap grubby tacos. Good job, why don’t other clubs do that?

What’s worse than V20… In Cahoots. What’s worse than In Cahoots? …this place. Enough said.(jk!) But really, i came here for a birthday one night… i can’t help but think how ghetto and dirty this place is. Yes, at one time, this place may have been«hoppin’» and yes, i really did just say hoppin’, but now… it’s time to reinvent yourself. Thank goodness the boys payed for bottle service because I wouldn’t have paid to come into this place. The outside patio certainly give it an interesting touch(and the taco stand!) but the bars(both inside and outside) are slightly pathetic. The dance floor is cramp, but they got smart and opened the other floor the night i was there. Needless to say, the bar on the further floor is better & bigger, but it’s a shame that they don’t really utilize any of it unless under extreme measures. The music… interesting. Some time between the time we got there and the time we left, they had a live band… and yea, the music is great if you like indie music… but it’s not something you would exactly expect for a club/lounge. I personally wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. It has more of a warehouse-converted-lounge than an actual lounge itself. Didn’t dig it then and definitely not diggin’ it now.

LAAAAAAAAAAAAME! Altho, I did have 4 guys stick money in my shorts, so I guess +1 star for that. Friday nites are suppose to be ladies nite — no cover, so me and 9 girls got ourselves on the guestlist a wk in advance to party it up and work the stripper pole they have. We got there and was told that E40 was performing tonite and it’s now $ 10 cover! wtf? Nobody emailed me about this??? So, I bitched and complained and they agree to give us a table/booth and 2 bottles of champagne. Ok, that’s better. Got into the club at 10:30p and it was freakin dead! There was 3 ppl on the dance floor and like 5 ppl by the bar and E40 is nowhere to be seen. 2 of my gf’s are pole instructors and they were coming out to show off their superb skills. Well, b/c the place was sooo empty, they did not open up the other room which had the pole in it. The girls weren’t having fun and since I planned it, I felt responsible. So being the feisty person that I am, I bitched to the manager to move the pole from the other room to the main room and in return I’ll give a free performance. I’ve never seen a guy run that fast, within a min, he had 4BIG bouncers lifted the pole out! Better +1 star! We salvaged the nite, and had a good time. –phew– Btw, we left a 1:15 and E40 never showed up!

1.5, me feeling generous today =D Failed. Facility suck. Music suck. Crowd stank(some chick’s extension fell out in the restroom line and 2 fights broke out in front of me! gross, grow up dude). Reminded me of a high school dance. Ewww! Bartender(s) was cool as fugg tho but the drinks suck b@lls too. But of course what save the night was mah peeps. The only reason why I ventured down to that area of LB is because of mah purr-ty co-worker’s friend’s barfday but sadly i shall not return. Not mah cup of tea. =(

Shore Ultra Lounge used to be Sachi’s but they’ve spruced up the place supposedly. They haven’t yet changed the sign on the corner of the plaza where«Sachi’s» brightly shines. My boyfriend’s friend was able to get us on the guest list last night. If this i what new and improved looks like, I was not very impressed. The stripper pole was not utilized properly… The crowd was not very hyped up, seemed a little boring in fact. Most of the guys were wallflowers and it took until around midnight for people to really start dancing. They decorated the outside area with several high tables and chairs, a portable fire pit that went out, and more seating area along the cement fence. It had the vibe of a bar with all the smokers and what not. They had a decent amount of bartenders at this small nightclub — with 4 bartending each side of the rectangular bar area. Maybe I’m just being harsh and my standards are too high after experiencing Hollywood and Vegas clubs. Or should I say i’ve been spoiled by those hot spots. It was a good place to chill for most and to just have fun. I believe the success rate of meeting someone here is low. I suggest going towards LA/Hollywood to do that.

Cool little place… Never got to experience it when it was Sachi’s, but have now twice as the new and improved Ultra Lounge. Overall experience, first time went was cool. Had a good time, but then again, anywhere you are with cool people its always a good time. They have a cover 80’s band in the main room, which plays a set at 1130pm. Spazmatics is the name of the band. Overall experience on the band, A+…highly recommend seeing them. The crowd itself is pretty diverse, which i like. Cover is 10 bucks, or free before 10pm, if your on a guest list. They have two rooms, one main, and a little one on the side that looks like a strip bar. LOL Music overall is pretty diverse as well, which was good. Bottle service for my friends bday party was well served, and they kept all the mixers full, and ice full…

I went here this past Thursday, and although they don’t have a cover on those days, I was not really impressed with the overall place. There are too many better places if you drive up to Los Angeles or south to Southern Orange County. My initial impression is that I couldn’t figure out if the place was trying to go for a high-end feel or if it was meant to be accessible to the masses. However, looking at the clientele, I would have to opt for the latter, despite certain aspects that make me wish it was the former. I felt it was actually too dark and too exposed to the outside with the backdoor left wide open the entire night, letting in a constant gust of wind. This was probably why no one really felt like dancing. Either that or because we’re in recession… and that’s nothing to celebrate about. One of my concerns was that there didn’t seem to be too many people that night. Granted, it was a Thursday during the summer, but the dance floor was empty and only got to be sparsely populated by the time it hit 11pm. An AMF costs $ 6.50, which is okay, considering the market prices now. That would be one positive aspect to the place during a quiet time: you get immediate bar service. The place needs to expand the restroom, though, as they only have one urinal(and two stalls). This won’t be a problem if the crowds remain sparse though. Parking is easy enough and free around the corner. Definitely a place for younger people who have a lower income. I would recommend going to other places that offer up some class to go with that glass of Henn.

After our dinner at Naples Rib Co. my group and I headed over here to watch her friend’s band open for the local house group, The Spazmatics. The place is attached to a hotel that looks like it was hermetically sealed back in 1974 and has only recently been unearthed and exposed to the elements. I kept having flashbacks to The Shining, hoping Jack Torrance would appear to drive an axe into one of the many out of place, and out of fashion, hipsters that invaded the joint like the Wicked Witch’s flying monkeys. Drinks here are criminally overpriced. I got a(shitty, weak) Jack and Diet to the tune of $ 11. No thanks. Next time I’ll get loaded at a dive bar down the street. I need a lot of booze to tolerate the crowd that was swarming in, so my final bar tab ended up higher than I would have liked. The opening act, not sure about the name, was very good. They did some great instrumental songs to start, very good musicians… and then the lead singer came out. Mr. Megadouche proceeded to then ruin the prior 20 min of enjoyment I had just experienced. Time to hit the bar again. The Spazmatics took a long time to get on stage. That = increased bar tab. But once they did, goddamn, they were a lot of fun. Apparently they have Spazmatics house bands all over the country, this being their Long Beach chapter. The guys played a tight set of 80’s classics; the crowd was very into it. I wasn’t sure how I would dig their stuff, but they really surprised me. I’m planning on going back to see them again, it was that enjoyable. I’m not sure how this place ranks as a typical night club. I’m sure it’s more of the same people that showed up for the show, so expect the typical OC crowd even though it’s outside of OC. The drinks aren’t even stiff enough to justify the price, so I recommend doing your boozing somewhere else ahead of time. Even a Bud Light was overpriced at $ 6. But, as I said, the Sat. night house band, The Spazmatics, are well worth any rampant douchebaggery the joint has to offer.

So after eating at a Thai restaurant for Amanda E’s birthday, our party drove over to Shore Ultra Lounge to dance the night away. The birthday girl planned ahead and got all of us(12 – 15 people) on the guest list, which meant no cover before 10PM(YAY). Well, on the way to the lounge from the restaurant, I got a little disoriented so I spent more time than I expected looking for the place. It was a little past 10PM by the time I got there, but the bouncers were really chill and let me in without a problem. We took a big group picture and were directed into the place. Upon entering, I thought it looked a bit small, but that was because I didn’t realize there were TWO rooms. The main room has a stage where performers entertained the crowd and the other room had a stripper pole for the crowd to entertain each other. I saw some pretty skanky girls trying to shake their bootays and it was not a pretty sight. I felt sorry for one of the girl’s friend, who was trying to stop a guy from filming her slut of a friend. She practically dragged her off the pole, but that drunkard wanted to rub her sweaty face all over the nearest guy. Totally disgusting. Note to self: stay away from stripper poles lest I want to dig my eyes out. Anyway, there was an 80’s cover band playing and we rocked out to some cool tunes. At some point, a bunch of girls hopped onto the stage and danced while the band kept playing like it was the most normal thing in the world. Seeing how much fun it was, Amanda E and I joined them. We just jumped and danced like dorks while laughing uncontrollably. I had no idea how much the drinks at the bar were, but we got table service and WOW, everything was really pricey. I had no idea who paid for it, but the drinks kept coming(I had water) and everyone had a good time. Overall, I had a good time, but the whole place was too crowded and even though we had a table, there were too many people walking by for us to feel comfortable. I had my toes stepped on way too many times that night. Also, the management really needs to check the sound system b/c the quality was mediocre. It really brought down the vibe to intermittently hear random static and BOOMBOOM. Oh yah, there are a couple of arcade prize machines in the room with the stripper pole. One was the Stacker Game and another was a claw game where the prizes were sex toys and DVDs. I tried to win one to give as a gag bday present, but the machine just ate 2 of my quarters! =P
