This is the best place in town, from family’s to just being alone. The service and management is amazing and I love to go with my family. The good is great and a good price!

We eat here at least 2 times a week. Food is consistently good, prices always reasonable. It is more economic to eat here just blocks away from home and enough variety to keep us coming. One big tip, not all Spire Chefs are equal. Although you can purchase the same items from all Spires menus, not all restaurants are as good as the Del Amo Spires. Service is impeccable

Pleasant staff, and the soup, salad, and sandwich deal will bring me back. Maybe the lentil soup is vegetarian, but the vegetable soup is not. If your a real vegetarian or vegan don’t come here and start asking them to change a bunch of shit for you. Why stress, go somewhere else. You won’t even like their lettuce. Although, I wish they used better lettuce…

Great restaurant, the service is great and always a friendly environment with the servers and the food is good. The owner is always eager to meet the needs of his customers. It was real impressive to see the gift box for needy children in the lobby area. To see that the staff did this and is thinking of the children at miller children’s hospital is awesome. Way to go spires staff keep reppin in our hood.

It’s a decent place for a burger/dinner/breakfast and it’s cheap. If you don’t expect too much then you’ll be pleasantly surprised. If you get any of the daily specials they come with a soup/salad/bread. The coffee here is bomb(not sure which brand they use). It’s the same price as a burger joint but at least here you get to go in and sit down. I’ve eaten here several dozen times and never had a problem. Overall, local spot to grub on diner food.

Good diner food. Old school. Family owned and operated, the owner’s there everyday as his daughter is too. Friendly service. Excellent breakfast choices and specials. Eggs over easy done perfectly. Hash browns, hot and crispy outer crust nice and soft inside. Sausage, solid. Bacon, good stuff. Biscuits and gravy, pretty good. Good coffee, wish they had an iced coffee option. No grapefruit juice. Didn’t even ask but my waitress brought out all the hot sauces with my breakfast, service is on point. The place is dated, even the bathrooms but everything is exceptionally clean. I like their large private parking lot as well. No headaches finding parking.

What was I thinking when I thought I would go for an early morning breakfast at Spires? First, the waitress(Mary) was great and except for the cook and maybe 8 other folks who looked older than me, I had the place to myself. Very clean and brightly lit seting and as I looked around and sat at the corner counter seat. Wifi is available and the coffee was served up fast. The TV with closed captioing displayed local news and but pop music was coming from set. Who da guessed? It had the sound quality of a transitor radio. If your, say, under 30, better Google that. Now, to the food. I ordered a house omlette, which is basically a veggie omlette. No egg substitute available but egg white for a dollar more was amazingly available. Which reminds me, coffee was 2.09. The omlette came and it looked more like a scramble but the half avocado sliced on top made it much grander. The hash brown potatoes reminded me of dorm living and an immediate yearning for ketchup was present. Now I had resolved myself that this was not a place to save money and eat on $ 5 a day but I thought the potatoes wiuld be the kind that came from the dirt. Perhaps they did but were reconstituted in our age of recycling everything. Well, ladies, no pictures, just words which you can read at whatever pace you might enjoy. Maybe I will try another neighborhood secret dining place where I always wonder if the food was good.

I recently went to visit my grandfather over this past weekend to check on him. We religiously come to this place to eat. He has been coming here for many years, so have I. From the moment we walk in they know us by names. We love it here. It’s like family. Always full of love and the food is great. Thank you to all of you for always being so attentive to my family and I.

Go there for breakfast with our co-workers every once in a while. The prices are good, but the ladies that work there are really sweet. They were attentive, but never interrupted. They had a lot of patience with our picky group. We had a good time. I would say if your a coffee lover, not a great place to get a cup of joe. I wasn’t a fan of their coffee– BUT the breakfast is great. Good omelettes and good pancakes. I would recommend if your in the area to check it out if your looking for a low-key breakfast that isn’t of the fast food variety.

I’m new to Long Beach, Ca and thought I would try this place out since it close to my house. I walked in to no one in the place around 4:30pm. Ordered the grilled chicken that said on the menu seasoned with lemon and pepper, but came out with nothing on it just plain chicken. Baked potatoe was the best thing I had. Chicken taste processed and full of water guessing it’s frozen when cooked. Won’t be coming back here at all…

Good quantities, great food, really great prices and a happy staff. I personally love the lumberjack but everything else I’ve had has been cooked wonderfully. the small place is a little old but clean and welcoming. It makes for a consistently enjoyable experience

Jan and I were in a breakfast kind of mood, so we stopped by Spires. You seriously can’t go wrong with breakfast, right? WRONG! It’s 6pm just pulled in and there are quite a few cars in the parking lot, that’s always a good sign(or so we thought). We walk through the front doors and aren’t greeted right away, but what’s a ten second wait to some starving women? We got to our booth and were handed some menus and thus began our quest for yummy breakfasts just waiting to be devoured. Whilst browsing through the menu, two older gentlemen walk in and are immediately greeted and ushered to a booth AND asked if they’d like something to drink(to which they responded with, «water, please.» because I’m nosey and overhear things). But wait, I want something to drink too! Now, now, I didn’t throw a fit over not being asked if I wanted something to drink. I waited patiently for my server to stop by and take our orders. And she did! Finally! My stomach can stop roaring for attention as I just assured it that food is on its way. Jan orders the Country Breakfast with extra bacon on the side and asked the waitress to please have them make the bacon medium. Jan: Can you please tell them to make my bacon medium, I don’t like crispy. Waitress: *mumbles something* Jan: Excuse me? Waitress: Oh, I said I don’t like mine crispy either. Jan: Yeah! Girl, you don’t need to mumble! If you prefer one thing over another, please say so! 90% of the time when you say such and such is better than that, best believe we’ll be having such and such. BTW, I ordered the Chef’s Omlete with pancakes on the side(don’t judge me! I haven’t eaten all day) Now to the good part. The food! We get our food and my hash is burnt. It’s like they used a special pan from hell. My eggs were so tough, even Rocky Balboa couldn’t last nine rounds against them. And my pancakes were just plain bad. There was not enough ketchup and syrup in the world that could save my food. Needless to say, my food stayed on its plate. How do you get hot tea wrong? Well, I got a hot cup of water, a brown slice of lemon, one honey packet… and NO damn tea bag! Should of made a run for the door at that point. but we’re a glutton for punishment. The good? Upon receiving our check, the waitress noticed most of our food was still on the plates and offered to take off the omelet breakfast. Thanks, but you could’ve taken off the frisby pancakes too. Never again!

Some reviewers say they remember Spires in the 70’s. I wasn’t even alive then. But by the look and feel of this place, I didn’t have to be there to see it. Doesn’t look like they’ve spent any money on updating the seating, tables, paint, or décor. I wish they would at least open the blinds so some light would shine in, maybe then it wouldn’t be so depressing. Regardless of the outdated building and customers, I will admit they have really great customer service. Our waitress was friendly and patient. I heard her talking to some regulars. It seems like they really care about their customers. I ordered the 8 Shrimp Dinner and it was pretty good. It’s not above average food(you can compare to Sizzlers in quality) but they do give a lot of it and the prices are reasonable. I think to really judge their dishes I’d need to come here more than once and try something else. They got the food to us relatively quickly and accurately. Honestly, I could eat cheaper and nicer at a Denny’s. That is why I don’t plan on returning. The customer service was awesome but it’s not worth it. I noticed this place is a hit with the retired citizens of Long Beach/Lakewood. My suggestion for more customers is that they hold a Bingo night!

They have 3 different claw machines in the lobby. RAD!!! Food was pretty good. The temperature was a little high in the place, though. The chocolate shake was good but not four bucks good. I asked for light onions on my chili size but that was ignored. Fries were a bit damp. My girl got the pastrami sammich with fried zucchini and it was pretty good. When they refilled her tea, they did it with raspberry flavored tea. Jerks. She told me the restroom situation almost caused her to vomit. If I come back, it will be to defeat the trifecta of claw machines.

Been a regular for about 4 years. Benny is the best! Always sweet and attentive! Cant say that about any of the others. The other waitresses arent even CLOSE to par for their customer service. Food is not always as ordered, but it is ALWAYS correct with Benny. Parking lot is nice and large. Located on a good cotnet.

Ever visit someone in the hospital and just know that they were on borrowed time? WELCOMETOSPIRES!!! Nothing here changes last remodel was in the 80’s No I am not saying it is dirty. Yes it is out of date. And the core customers keep getting older. The menu now has both large print and photos. Service is so so a bit slow and the regulars are not in any rush. Most of the Menu is frozen restraint Depo stuff . The Soups are generally fresh tasting. The End is coming just when we don’t know.

Great affordable food with great family style service. I love the variety of homemade soups. Usually get the top sirloin steak with Fried shrimp and I always get the meat cooked to my liking. The staff is always friendly and attentive. Refills on your drink keep flowing here and are never lacking . The manager always comes over to check up on your table which is a plus for me. Prices are a sweet deal with most meals Being under $ 10.
