The Passport Free Bus Shuttle

Took the Passport from the Queen Mary to a restaurant downtown. It was great.
Unfortunately, not so great when we took it back to the Queen Mary. The driver neglected to tell the passengers until the end that he was only going to the A stop at 10^th and Pine. We were unceremoniously dropped off in what I have heard is a very bad part of town after dark. Women with children, tourists, locals, it didn’t matter who you were, the driver rudely told us that it was the last stop and the next bus would be through in 25 minutes! He kicked us off, turned on his Out of Service light, and took off.
One of the riders told me that the same driver did this earlier in the day at the Queen Mary when he had to take his break. He was rude, and in that part of town we might have ended up on the evening news! Luckily for us some of the riders had smart phones and called for Über and Lift to get us to our destinations!
Admittedly, when we got on the bus we should have confirmed that we would get to our destination, but the driver should have announced that he was not going to finish the route.
Basically, that driver put a dozen people in potential harm’s way by just kicking us off the bus in a sketchy part of town after dark. This was on Tuesday night, March 3^rd, we were picked up at the Shoreline Village stop around 8:30 or so. I sure hope someone in charge reads this and follows up to determine who the driver was so he can be talked to about this issue.

I highly recommend the passport bus. It helped us get some errands done in Long Beach without having to worry about walking and grabbing a cab. The buses are clean and the drivers drive safely and are quite helpful if you are not from the area. The fact that it’s free is a huge bonus. Of course there was a crazy homeless lady on one of the buses talking to herself but I am used to that since I live in Philly. Take passport buses!

In Long Beach fahren kostenlose The Passport Busse von der Innenstadt zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten am Rainbow Harbor und zur Queen Mary. In Abständen von ca. 10 Minuten verkehren die Busse in beiden Richtungen den ganzen Tag lang. So kann man bequem das Aquarium besuchen, sich zur Queen Mary fahren lassen, am Rainbow Harbor essen gehen und dann noch evtl. Downtown ein wenig shoppen gehen — und das ohne etwas für den Transport zu bezahlen
