Great little place to grab a healthy, unique sandwich, salad soup or coffee. Food is super fresh and the staff is very friendly. Baltazhar’s pastries too! I just wish they had a bit more variety for soup I the winter. Great place for lunch!

Delish sandwiches prepared every morning when I swing by for some coffee and pastries. My fav is the eggplant mozzarella and the smoked salmon! Go early for lunch to avoid the line and items being sold out. Standing inside for too long will leave you smelling like toast bc of panini press. Get a cookie for dessert! Sandwiches are half price after 4pm!

Came here for a snack and ended up getting lunch for later afternoon. Their soups and sandwich selection are great and different from the norm. Their service is 5star and always willing to help. They are definitely a great option when in the area.

Solid — arguably the best espresso place around here. I get an Americano or a latte here depending on my mood and it is consistently good. The flavor is incredible and it is never burnt. I had my doubts when I first trudged over below the bridge but this hideaway joint is truly a gem. The folks are always very polite and if you’re not too concerned about your beach body status, get a mocha muffin to go. You won’t regret it. Seriously.

Delicious, unique sandwiches made in house on incredibly tasty bread. One that comes to mind is pear and cheddar sandwich on almond bread. Soups are impressive, too! Perfect neighborhood spot!

It was my first visit. Very nice selection! I had the portobello sandwich, it was delicious but it took a while to heat and the bread was too crispy and sharp after. I was happy there was extra seating, but it was extremely cold in there.

Tip of the Masters: After 4:30pm, all sandwiches are $ 2.50. Good luck. Sliced egg, potato, roasted eggplant and peppers sandwhich was excellent. I could taste the freshness of the ingredients in every delicious bite. It was also not overly salty like a nomal deli. I would say order it toasted since the crispy exterior adds to the experience, but expect to wait a few minutes for it to be ready. Sandwiches run about $ 6 – 7 normally. Iced Latte was smooth and creamy, much better than s. bucks for about the same price. $ 4 for a medium. About 4 seats total at the counter, and very friendly staff. If the wait wasn’t so long it would be 5 stars. I will definitely be back. ~Daniello

This place is a Godsend! I come here everyday and I can tell you that from the soups, to the pastries to the sandwiches and coffee, that everything is made fresh and delicious! The staff is friendly and catering and knows most of the patrons by name; that alone says a lot for a NY eatery. They do not serve meat here which is another plus since I am a vegetarian, but they do have fish sandwiches which I heard are to die for as well.

Completely unassuming little café packed with delicious soups, sandwiches, salads, and pastries. As the name suggests they also serve up great caffeinated drinks. It is a little pricy for what you get but everything is done well and they use high quality ingredients. Try the strawberry walnut salad or the roasted eggplant and peppers with cheddar sandwich on ciabata. If you are looking for something meaty this isn’t the place. Most of their offerings are vegetarian except the tuna or white-fish sandwich. Pro tip: if you get the soup and try to eat it immediately you will burn your mouth with the fire of 1,000 hells. Patience is a virtue(and a must). Do they still sell leftover sandwiches for $ 2 after 4pm? It would be worth checking out although with their gaining popularity I doubt they have leftovers anymore.

Friendly staff, delicious sandwich. Wish I had gotten some baked goods to have as a midnight snack.

I had high expectations for this place because of the reviews. I ordered a mocha latte and was underwhelmed. Maybe the better option would be a cappuccino or Americano to get a better flavor of their espresso. They have a room to the side that is shut off from the café, which is neat. I studied in there for a bit but it’s not too conducive to studying. With good headphone it might work. This is a place a lot of people who work in the building or area come to chat loudly about smart phones. Very cool area though and I bet on the weekends it would be a different vibe. The woman working there mentioned they will ope up on weekends in a week or two. The sandwiches after 4:30 are only $ 2.50 and there is a line that begins. I suggest that people interested in this shamelessly show up at 4:15 and stand to wait. Only order one because they do ask you are considerate of how many people might be in line and how many sandwiches are left. I thought that made sense. Honestly, I’m not crazy in love with this place at all but I might go for another $ 2 sandwich because it was so simple to do and they put effort into making these sandwiches pretty Good.

Fresh, quality ingredients and friendly service. Yummy sandwiches, sumptuous soups and healthy salads. My favorite lunch hangout in LIC ! Oh and their teas and pastries are pretty yummy too(especially the almond croissant). It’s a bit pricey but you don’t mind because the quality’s good and the service friendly.

This is the Best Coffee in Long Island City! Once you have one cup, you cannot go to another place. I drink hot coffee, ice coffee, the red eye, as Eddie calls it! I loved it so much, I got my colleagues addicted. The pastries are always fresh and delicious. I know because I had them all! As well as the sandwiches, my favorite is the fresh mozzarella, tomato, and basil. Also the vegetable and Gouda cheese sandwich. The soup are so good! I mostly like had them all but my favorite is tomato basil soup! As you can see I am a fan!

Freshest & tastiest pastries, sandwiches, salads, and soups in the area. The thought they put into each sandwich, from baking their own bread to choosing surprising but not overpowering notes like olive paste into their egg salad sandwiches, really shows through each bite. I bought a chocolate croissant in the afternoon and it was still flaky and buttery with a good amount of chocolate when I ate it. If you’re sick of the pizza, salad bar, deli sandwich, fast food options in the area for lunch at work definitely stop by here! Plus the servers are always super nice and never mind explaining things to you about the daily soups & such. Yes, prices are a little high but your getting fresh and quality ingredients rather than processed!

Unusually great espresso, yummy sandwiches, Balthazar pastry selection. The prices are standard, but the quality consistently exceeds expectations. It is not the most convenient location, but I go out of my way to come here because I enjoy it so much.

Excellent lunch option! The sandwiches are fresh and creative and never the same. The soups are amazing. Their coffee or teas are a must. I stay away from the pastry display — too good. If you work here, check them out.

Best espresso I’ve had in NYC(really, really good), pastries(from Balthazar) are pretty good too. The sandwiches(I think they only veggie and fish options, no meat) are fresh and great, but I don’t like that style of bread so I don’t get them too often. Never had the soups but they always sound good, and like the sandwiches I think are all made fresh daily. Prices are a little high if you’re just looking at the numbers but all the ingredients are top notch so I don’t feel like they are overpriced. Wish they were open on weekends but there’s really not enough people around this part of LIC to make it worth it so I definitely don’t blame them. Can get busy around lunch and is often a little slow/unorganized in general but totally worth the time.

Best sandwich and soup shop in the area! Let me start by addressing the cons of this place. First… Be prepared to come out of this place smelling awful because of the panini press. Secondly, every time you want to order a sandwich, one of the employees will have to explain what each is. There are no menus. And third, it’s type expensive for just a lunch… Today a salmon sandwich and a tiny pellogrino lemon water was like $ 11.32. This is a vegetarian spot that sells great in-house made sandwiches which ranges from salmon and tuna to portobello mushrooms and all types of fresh cheeses, all within unique breads. I think each bread with all the fixings inside are meant to compliment each other. It’s all very strategic culminations. Now soups… Usually 2 fresh soups per day, all veggies, all great! Fresh, wholesome, and if you need to meet your daily veggie intake, this is the way to go. They also press juices that are combined to provide certain benefits for example if you’re in need of a hang over remedy, bam! –you’re in for a healthy drink including beets, ginger and other fruits and veggies. Pastries… They’re shipped fresh daily from Balthazars! End of story! Thanks for reading.

This place made me want to sign up for a Unilocal review. I am a vegan and a student right by here, and finding yummy affordable food is always a hassle. I came across this place while searching online and it’s amazing. The man hooked me up with a dairy free veggie sandwich, and even suggested I could come in during the morning to order it so it could be ready for lunch. So nice! Also juices are five bucks, which is pretty good compared to yet places that charge upwards to ten bucks And the sandwich was so fresh and on amazing bread. Ill definitely be back!

I have visited this café twice and the staff is always friendly. The place is clean and the food is made fresh daily. They don’t have a website or a take out menu. When I go back next week I’m going to try one of their homemade soups and pastries. And yes, I highly recommend this place.
