Let’s get one truth out of the way: getting any part of your body waxed/​threaded is no fun at all. It is such a drag, sometimes we try to hold out visiting a salon for as long as we can. I’ve been to my share of threading salons in the almost 6 years since I got «eyebrow-​conscious» and I’ve grown to hate going to the salon more and more over the years. Few have disappointed, but each one has been solid while I’m always on the prowl for a better one that doesn’t have people tugging on my skin.
There aren’t too many (great) places in Sunnyside for eyebrow threading and so it happens that I spontaneously decided to get my eyebrows threaded while I was on the train back home one night. I didn’t want to travel to 74^th St, so I quickly opened up my Unilocal app to find this the closest – and most convenient – location on the way back home. Like a few Unilocalers have mentioned, said smell makes this place pleasantly inviting. I believe this salon is Himalayan-​owned and after my first time getting my brows threaded here, I was sold (which is a rarity when it comes to threading salons).
The ladies here are absolute sweethearts and appreciate your presence (or at least try to), unlike some salons who seem bothered. They know exactly what I want and get the job done on the first try, whereas I usually have to ask like 5 times to make it thinner and get teeth-​sucking responses because it seems like I’m questioning their ability. $ 5 is pretty standard. The only thing I don’t like is when they keep pushing other services on me, even if I refuse repeatedly but thankfully, it doesn’t take away from the quality of their services.

I get my brows done here. They charge just $ 5 for threading, and they’re very meticulous. I like my brows to be fuller and more natural looking, and the ladies at Rose deliver this while still making my brows clean and shaped. After I started coming here, a woman at my office told me my brows look perfect – hey, thanks!!! Also, this salon is right by the train – very convenient.

Five years later and I keep coming back. They do mani-pedi’s too now, which is great. Also, I’ve gotten into tinting my eyebrows and they do a really good job with that here.

Came in here because I needed to get my eyebrows threaded urgently because a few days ago, I went to a local salon and got a horrible job done.
Anyway, I was on my way to a threading salon Siri was guiding me to, but saw this on the way. I walked in and my first impressions were that it smelled lovely. Like baby powder and flowers, instead of sweat like most other places smell like.
The woman took me right away, the thread was very gentle, she was super quick, and my eyebrows look great.
I’ll get my nails done next time as well and update my review, but so far, so good!

Taming is wonderful. She did threading and mani pedi. She did an outstanding job!!! She had such precision with her manicure and pedicure and has such a steady hand that the French manicure and pedicure looked marvelous. I didn’t have an appointment so definitely lucked out this time

This is great place to enhance your beauty. Its very affordable and clean. Love it. Nice staffs.

I’ve never tried these threading salons for my nails but I was kind of short on time and looking for affordable and convenience. This place has both, they’re right on Queens Blvd (literally downstairs from the 40^th Street 7 train stop) and manicure gel and regular pedicure was $ 30 (yes and yes!)
However you certainly get what you pay for (this isn’t to say the service was bad, the girls were so friendly and sweet!) the 3 stars are there for how great and friendly the service was but the location is very small, the options of nail colors seem limited and not at all varied, I wasn’t given a swatch of colors to pick from the gel color options, the materials they used to do my manicure like the nail file looked pretty worn out.
I still have the blue nail polish color from my last manicure that I can see under my french manicure and it’s been day 3 and already my gel nail color has chipped.
I’m not going to return here for nails.

My toes and nails look great – nice shape and color but they chipped right away. Came back a second time to try them out and had them add a second layer of whatever top coat they use – they chipped the very next day yet again. She also used an already used wooden stick on my nails – yikes!
It’s pretty dingy. Quality waxing and threading – just be sure to check their work when their done and have them fix it – they miss some spots but they made is painless.

Such sweethearts! Got my nails and eyebrows done here and will be returning regularly. Excellent work, sweet workers and very reasonable prices.

So I recently started coming here maybe two-​three months now. Its close to work and I come here during my lunch break should I need a quick eyebrow threading. I really enjoy coming here the ladies are really nice, but the reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 because last week I got my eyebrows done and the woman that did my eyebrows was too rough and ended up ripping some of my skin. I didn’t notice till later on when I go home and my eyebrows were still red. I did get a Brazilian and I must say I was impressed, the woman that did it was wonderful. She took her time and even went back in to thread out the little hairs that the wax did not pick up. I will be coming back here regardless of what happened, i will just tell the person doing my eyebrows to be careful.

This woman did not know what she was doing on my Brazilian. I assume she’s not used to waxing a black woman’s vag. Highly dissatisfied. I will continue to venture into the city where I pay less and they know what there doing. A good customer lost. I work in the area and thought I could find a good emergency spa to grab a quick wax on my lunch break or a pedicure but that won’t be happening.

I’ve been getting my eyebrows since the place has been open; but now from one year they have more services like waxing, nails and facial. They are doing very good job, fast and prompt. I Recommend the salon for all of my friends :)

Ok threading job on my eyebrows; not very attentive (didn’t put powder before or aloe vera gel after), and not particularly good. Made me wait a long time so she could finish some errand (not another customer) in the back room that I feel like wasn’t urgent, but what do I know. Shortchanged me on cash too. Not absolutely terrible, but I’m definitely never going back.

First time here and I must say I am very happy. I got the chocolate brazilian and regular full leg wax done. This place isn’t fancy but it gets the job done. They are hygienic and meticulous with are the most important thing for me. NO DOUBLE DIP =) The chocolate wax was a first for me, I normally do the sugaring but felt it was pretty much the same. And all of this for a total of $ 55, can’t believe I was getting robbed all this time going to the city. The lady who took care of me was very nice but I don’t know her name =(I will try the threading next time. Found my new spot!

I came here because I needed an emergency Brazilian wax. The woman did a phenomenal job (forgot her name). The price for waxing was $ 30, which is the average cost. Ok, fine. The lady pulled the curtain and told me to go inside a room a bit larger than a bathroom stall. The room is only big enough to fit two people. The chocolate sugar wax experience was a bit too sticky for my liking, but it got the job done. They do not double-​dip and I was done in 10 minutes. The only thing that bothered me was that I tipped her 20% and she looked at me as if I gave her $ 1. As I was leaving she looked at the tip and starting speaking in her native language to her partner. I’ll be back for emergency cases if I’m around the area, but will request someone else.

I just got my eyebrows done today! I usually do my own because my eyebrows don’t grow out of control most of the time. However, I was feeling lazy/​feeling like I need the pampering. I just asked for a clean up. My eyebrows are dark on my light complexion, so if it had been botched you would have definitely seen it. I am so glad they came out nicely! This place is a simple set up and they do waxing too.
