Red Barn Boarding

We always take our dogs here. Great place, great people. The first time we paid for yard time, our dog was too timid to go out. We were not charged for this service, even though we could have been and would not have known the difference. Nice to have trust with a business.

This place is awesome! Lisa was so sweet and took great care of my chihuahua terrier Joey. Definitely will be using this place again. I feel confident knowing that my pet is in great hands! Thank you Red Barn!

Red Barn is not only my favorite but my 1 ½ yr old Aussies too! She is a very active dog and needs attention ²⁴⁄₇. When I picked her up she was excited and acted as she had a blast. Very reasonable! Owner (Lisa)made me so comfortable and feel that my dog was in the best hands ever. I felt more as if I was dropping her off at a family instead of a boarding! This is a place I will come back to not just because I loved the place because my dog loves it!

First time taking my little Jack Russel Charlie to a boarding kennel. A woman by the name of Lisa runs the Kennel and she was so sweet, she really cares for all of the dogs and is very warm and friendly. Great place to take your dog or cats!!!

I left my two dogs here to go to my brothers out of town wedding, and one of my dogs is old and has cancer which makes her pretty gross with drool and such. The owner was nice enough to agree to watch her so I could keep her with her sister in the same run. I was happy with the facility and the professionalism for the most part. However, I knocked off stars because the owner completely panicked when there was some blood in my dogs drool and demanded I pick her up immediately.
Now, I understand my dog is old and sick, but that was disclosed ahead of time and all my family and close friends were at this same out of town wedding. I spent most of the day begging favors of my neighbors until I found one who would move her to a different facility. I’m writing this review to back up the other «bad review» and to warn you this is not the place to send you dog if they are not perfectly healthy and well behaved.

We love Red Barn Boarding. Our dog has stayed at this safe haven over 40 times (not kidding!) since he was a puppy in 2002. He last stayed there in the spring, and he’ll be staying there again very soon. Our dog enjoys this place and has been comfortable there since the beginning. Red Barn Boarding’s owner Bob takes very good care of the dogs, which respond well to Bob’s quiet and gentle but firm and friendly voice. I feel the pets are very well and lovingly cared for at this well-​maintained facility. They board dogs and cats.
The dogs are kept in long indoor/​outdoor runs located within a cozy and well-​kept air-​conditioned/​heated barn with concrete floors. Dogs stay one/​run, except families of dogs can stay in the same run. During the day, the barn is supervised. The dogs can go in or out in their run. At night, the barn is locked up safe and tight (with the dogs kept within the indoor runs). In the morning, each run is opened to its outside part again, and the runs are cleaned, and the dogs are fed and visited. Dogs can also be taken on walks, if the owner so desires. As I said, our dog loves this place! He likes to visit with his neighbors in the runs next to him.
I don’t own any cats, but as I understand it, the cats are kept in very large and roomy cages in a room in the barn out of sight from the dogs. They are kept one cat/​cage, while families of cats can stay in the same cage (I believe). The cats’ room is also air-​conditioned/​heated. I never hear any complaining cats when I visit Red Barn Boarding.
Our dog really likes Bob and Red Barn Boarding, and I hope yours will as well.

I very much liked the boarding facilities. I have 2 yellow labs, one being a barker. I warned the owner of this and brought a bark collar but he said he never had to use it!!! What’s his secret? For the price, I don’t think you can get a better boarding kennel. They even provide the food. I always leave my dogs here when I go on vacation.

Never ever, ever again!!! We dropped our English Bulldog and Boxer off for a week to spend our wedding anniversary in Cancun. Everything seemed fine as we left. When we arrived back to our room on our first night in Cancun, the guy had called 3 times and left 3 messages about how the bulldog had «turned into a werewolf» and we needed to make arrangements to have them picked up and taken elsewhere! Well, our dog is anything but a werewolf. He can become territorial if he feels threatened or doesn’t know you. This only implied one thing — the owner of Red Barn Boarding did not take the time to get to know our pets. We began making phone calls and figuring out other arrangements only to call him the next morning and hear that our dog had «turned over a new leaf» and was behaving just fine. It’s unfortunate that our dog had to learn not to bite the hand that feeds you on his own, because the boarder couldn’t take the time to familiarize himself with our animals.

Friendly, professional dog boarders out in Loomis. I liked them, they let me walk my dog to her kennel and lay out her blanket and give her toys before leaving her for the weekend. I really trusted them with my dog.
My only complaint is the pick up and drop off times… I hate being restricted to when I can get my dog!
