The Flame Broiler

this one is located in a small strip mall, easy to miss if you aren’t paying attention
I stopped here for quick bite to go on way back from afternoon Christmas party
(Yes, Christmas Party, not holiday party… too bad if you get butt hurt about that!)
in any case, got couple chicken veggie bowls to go
as goes with flame broilers, decent food for reasonable price
nothing to go out of your way for, but nice alternative to a quick burger or pizza
maybe they deserve an extra ½ star, one day Unilocal will listen and let us do that
but since their store hours closed at 9pm on a Friday night, gave them 3 stars
service was quick, but store a bit messy as workers were preparing to close for the night… sorry I popped in about 5 mins before closing… don’t you hate when people do that… hey, I didn’t know they closed at 9pm!
good to visit if you are in area and want something quick and reasonable

Not very generous on their meat portions the first time I went there. Went there a second time only because it was convient. Small meat portions again and beef was charred. The veggies were over cooked. Perhaps need better training for the people in the back. Prefer the location in Cypress much much better.

Wish they had Kimchi but over all it’s pretty good if u don’t want to roll out after eating.

We walk to this location a lot. Each time there seems to be new people working there, any they are always nice. The food is served quick, and everything has always been great. The rice has always been cooked perfect, no hard pieces in it, and that seems to be a rare thing. Keep up the good work, we will be back.

I’ve been coming to this place for a long time now since I work on base and I’m always on the look for something quick and healthy. Now to my review, I am rapidly noticing a decrease in quality and portion size in this particular store also a very alarming amount of fat still attached to the beef in particular, I won’t be buying from you guys anymore, you’re causing your clientele to not do business with you.

I came here on a Tuesday mid-​morning and waited 10 minutes for the restaurant to open. I placed an order for two chicken and beef bowls with steamed veggies and brown rice. It was an easy, quick process to place my order. I waited about 7 – 8 minutes for my order to be ready.
The beef was overcooked. The chicken was cooked perfectly. The FB by my house in Tustin is a bigger portion. There is more veggies and meat. Overall, I will not return to this location. The portion was on the smaller size and the beef was overcooked. I will stick to the FB in Tustin on 17^th Street.

My friend and I drive from seal beach last Sunday to this flame broiler location in Los Alamitos. I ordered the Works Bowl and my friend mini rice chicken bowl, to go. My bowl was not full, maybe a tablespoon of white rice (I ordered brown rice) and very few veggies. My friends mini bowl was HALF full. LAST TUME WE FOR THIS PLACE.
For a great rice bowl at reasonable price go to Yasai on Seal Beach blvd by Starbucks and Boeing.

absolutely terrible!!! the manager is a complete moron!!! he does not teach his employees how to work their job! terrible customer service and it takes forever to get your order!!! would give it ⁰⁄₅ stars if i could!!! never agian will i go to flame broiler!!!

I love Flame Broiler, and eat at many of their franchises, but stay away from this one! Literally, the worst one out there. Waited 30 minutes to have my order made completely wrong. After another 15 minutes… that’s right, still wrong. Asked for a refund and then went to the Cypress one where the had my order done and correct in 5 minutes.
The owner of this places has new, inexperienced cooks and counter workers at all times. He is never there and is obviously and very poor business manager. EVERY KID WORKING THERE SAID IT WAS THEIR 1^st WEEK.
This guy won’t get my business again…

I’ve ordered from here a few times and they’ve always gotten my order correct. Today, however, they managed to mess it up not once, or twice, or even three times but 5 times…
I originally put in an order through Unilocal (EAT24) for 3 bowls. 1 chicken veggie, 1 beef, 1 beef veggie with NO OTHER VEGGIES except cabbage. I get there to find the place packed. Somehow they thought I wanted all rice & veggies… no meat. I told them the correct order, confirmed it with the cashier and waited. I rushed back to the office to find that the beef veggie bowl with cabbage was actually just Beef & broccoli. There was no rice… just beef and broccoli.
I gave them a call and told them to make a new order. I confirmed the order with them and my boss went to pick it up. He got there, gave them the order they messed up on and guess what? They gave him back the exact same thing. Beef & broccoli. He told them what he wanted and they gave him a beef veggie bowl with ALL the veggies. Finally, 40 minutes later he’s back at work and now he’s no longer hungry…
So… lesson learned.
1) Never put in an order through Unilocal.Call in the order.
2) CONFIRM the order again and again.
3) Double check your order before you leave.
Not coming back to this location for a while.

Love this location. They are very nice. Not a big line but they can get busy during lunch time. But you don’t even notice because they get you in and right out. I picked up 4 bowls for the entire week. That’s how much I love this place. The only negative so far was finding a pretty big chunky of sharp chicken bone in my bowl. Ouch!.

Should be named Flame Slower! I enjoy flame broiler but this store is poorly run. Under staffed, dirty, and super slow. I even tried to phone ahead knowing they are slow and they still had me waiting 10 minutes for food after calling in 15 minutes earlier. Too bad!

Bomb!!! I like this place good for lunch when I’m at work. I always get the half and half bowl

Pretty clean. Good food. But horrible location, only problem is that the curtain doesn’t work so all the sun beats down on you. My party and I sat at one of the only tables where there was shade.

Ever since my last review. I’ve had nothing but great experiences. I’ve had times where the employees have taken my order minutes from closing. I try not to do that often. Bad timing on my part.
They’re have this frequent customer card. When you buy 10 bowls/​plates you get the 11^th one for free. This keeps me coming to this specific location all the time. I LOVE that incentive!
For a while there was an employee there (girl, she was pregnant at the time) that would remember my name and order all the time. She made me feel special. Very uncommon in any business.
Keep up the great work! Somebody cares at this location :)

I have to give Flame Broiler credit for moving into a location that has housed many unsuccesful food ventures.
I had not stopped by because I thought that a chain store would not match the chicken and beef from Island grill down the street. Well, I finally tried it and regretted the fact that I had not stopped in sooner.
Their chicken is very good and not overly dry, I love the fact that they have both brown and white rice and lastly I really liked their steamed vegetables. Everything comes together very well and I gave had several satisfying lunches at the Flame Broiler. l
I am now a fan.

I really enjoy this restaurant chain. The food is always fresh and delicious. I visited this particular location today and the cashier, Jimmy, displayed some outstanding customer service. He was friendly and helpful. As I ate my lunch, I noticed Jimmy checking to make sure napkins, utensils and condiments were stocked. I told Jimmy and his manager what an outstanding job Jimmy was doing. I will go back again. It is clean and I hope all the service is as good as what I received today!

Flame Broiler is a very simple affair for all who have been there already know. This is a great spot for lunch and especially if you are trying to watch your calories and have started dieting.
This location is always clean & the service is generally fairly quick, they always make sure to greet you as well when you come in. It is really hard to mess up at this chain, but I can say I have been to the one off of Spring St. in Long Beach and that one always makes me feel sick, and it is not the most sanitary location. So between the 4 different local ones that I have been to, this one is a great location and I have never had an issue.
Just a side note… I know people LOVE The magic sauce but if you are truly trying to watch your weight you should really pass on using it. It is extremely high in sodium & sugar content and basically blows the entire purpose of eating a healthy meal… If you are not into the hot sauce which is a good low cal option (But generally very high in sodium as well) they do have an Italian dressing that they keep behind the counter. I always use the Italian dressing to give my bowl a lil extra flavor & added moisture.

I love Flame Broiler but its gotten hard to find a great one.
This one is meh… I ordered the Chicken & Veggies bowl,
all white meat and broccoli only ($ 7.77) should’ve been
Lucky 7’s but it was just so-​so.
They hide the sauce behind the counter and give you less than
you ask for, but they do it with a smile.
Next time I think I’ll just go further down the street and get
Chicken and Veggies from Pick-​Up Stix.
