I’ve had my prescriptions filled at Columbus Pharmacy for as long as I can remember. It’s a no frills establishment. If you need refills, try going in on Sunday morning. It’s super fast because there aren’t too many patients. Docked a star because the chairs in the waiting area need to be cleaned.

The big pluses are that they will deliver to the doctor’s office across the street, and their prescription labels are in Chinese. Both are real boons for my elderly mother. Plus, the bus stops are just across the street. They really are a prescription-filling place. Their over-the-counter meds, the small amount of variety goods, and the acceptance of utility payments are really just there for convenience of what seems to be a predominantly elderly, immigrant clientele. Kudos to them for filling this niche. Yes, the place is very small, the waiting area chairs are stained, and the staff can be slow to fill an order. But the above pluses outweigh these minuses.

Pros: Air Conditioning Provide chairs They have cheap snacks lying around Spanish speaking working, which is rare Cons: No Parking All their chairs have stains on it The workers gossip often –This place gets extremely packed and the service seems slow with about 8 staff in the back. It’s sometimes slow because they’re gossiping and they forgot my order(which recently happened) or they’re just backed up with tons of order on the desk –I’d recommend parking at Ai Hoa market, walking over to the pharmacy and purchase something at the market for parking validation

five star because they are fast and efficient. Usually I come here to pick up meds for someone else but last week I ended up picking up a gel for myself. I wasn’t sure which brand was good but Clarine and another lady help me explain the different choices. I ended up getting the oralgel and it definitely help a great deal! Thank you clarine and your great staff!

It’s funny when you’re in K-town, all the names spelled in English are just romanization of Korean store names, but in Chinatown, most stores have English names with English words even though the Chinese name could be completely different. I guess Chinese people assimilate better. So here is Columbus Pharmacy. The sign in Chinese says«Yun Oi Sai Yerk Fong,» which translates to“Benevolence Western Pharmacy.” Yeah, Columbus sounds better. I walked in on Saturday morning, looking for this Chinese analgesic medicine in liquid form that you apply on contact for bruises, sprains or muscle aches. It has been used for generations, especially in my family. It’s called Jing Gwut Sui in Cantonese but the box says Zheng Gu Shui in Mandarin. It’s like Icy Hot but it’ll make you smell like an old fobby grandma. My coworker had jumped off a cliff into the ocean and bruised her entire leg from the thigh down. It was the very least that I could do for her. The medicine was $ 6. Pretty cheap for effective medicine(though I thought I paid less for the same thing somewhere else in the 90012). I have to point out that Columbus fills out a lot of prescriptions for being in Chinatown, even though there is very little Chinese medicine here. After all, it is a Western pharmacy. It’s a small store but you’d probably find what you need here if you ask the friendly clerks. Street parking only. The store is at the corner of College on Broadway.
