Food was great and the amount you get for the price is unreal. Great place for an inexpensive lunch, take leftovers home for dinner.

I have tried other nearby cheap fast food chinese places and this business has been the best. You get what you pay for. It is a cheap establishment but it has good food and they do not fear packing their food in the containers to the maximum capacity. Good noodles. Hits the lunch spot always.

This place is okay. They give you a lot of food for $ 5.25 + tax(Combo A) which is fried rice, chow mein, and 2 entrees. But the quality of the food is sub-par. It’s definitely no where near as good as Panda Express. They also do not give you fortune cookies; they charge an additional 10 cents for each. Their soy sauce on each table is in Sriracha bottles. It’s also cash only. 3 stars for an average local Chinese place.

To me, this place is better than Panda Express. It is so cheap and good. Combo A is more than enough and can definitely full you up. Totally recommend this place.

For value this place is about as good as it gets. For those not familiar with the neighborhood, one thing not lacking is Chinese restaurants. However, none of them come close to the quality and sheer amount of food you get here for the price. We always get the Combo A which is 2 entrees and chow mein and/or rice. We get it to go and always the bag is a mess because the container is simply not big enough to err contain the food. The items we have tried are the Orange Chicken, Shrimp with veg., Beef and Broccoli, Terryaki Chicken and Chicken Wings. All of them are at least as good as you’ll find at a midscale joint, but the Orange Chicken is the standout. It is made and served with actual orange slices and peel that is still fresh. It is only lightly breaded so it doesn’t feel needlessly heavy, and they don’t drown it in sauce. It is quite frankly one of the better dishes I’ve had at a mom and pop Chinese spot and its the reason I go back. My wife knows, she loves Chinese and I don’t care for it much. Yet, I never cringe when she suggests going here and living 3 blocks away makes it easy to get to.

Sorry guys. Perhaps it was an off day for Gold Medal? The food came soggy and falling apart. All I could taste was MSG, and there was a lot of gristle in my chicken.

I was working nearby and needed to feed 5 people, so Gold Medal was a quick fix. I went off the other Unilocal review on here and took the chance. I just went in for takeout, so not sure about the service, but the food was so GOOD. The staff is all Chinese and the spicy dishes are truly spicy. I have a funny feeling all of the food is loaded with MSG. We got 5 to go combos and 3 drinks(try the Arizona Watermelon juice — so good!) and it was about $ 25. Cheap, delicious. The neighborhood is a little sketch though. And beware they don’t take credit cards.

Yum-yum. They pile the food on your plate for about $ 8.00 and the service is good. Small dining area, but usually not too many people eating here at one time. I was a regular when I lived in the area. Lots of quality meat dishes — Teriyaki Chicken and Sweet n Sour Pork, etc. Tasty egg rolls and pleasant location just outside downtown. Maybe the best of the smaller Chinese restaurants in all of L.A. Basin.
