First of all they close at 8PM and NOT9. They should probably fix this on their website and on Unilocal.I called ahead and let them know I was coming close to 8 o’clock and I got here at 7:52 and they were already closed. Foods good, but the service sucks every time.

The food is almost always consistent here. It is less then a minute walk from my work place so it helps if I am in a rush and need a quick lunch. A few things that I don’t like about this store. 1. The owner does not treat his employees nicely. I witnessed the employee giving a customer mayonnaise in a small container. The owner flipped out on him saying«you crazy?! Don’t waste the mayonnaise give the ones in the packet!!!» 2. Another issue I have with this store is that they are very stingy about ranch. My average order at this store is about $ 15 every time I walk in and they always charge for the smallest portion of ranch!(Did I mention the ranch is watered down?) P. S. Don’t get a potato from here since they microwave it! stick to a steak sandwich.

Great, Not. Steak, Perhaps. Unfortunately I have to try every steak shop in LA. I had a Philly because legit cheese steaks must have whiz. The sandwich was so small I thought I ordered sliders. The cheese was fine; the meat was gamey. You know how your taste buds can’t lie, it just tasted off, like it was getting old. Now I’m not making an accusation just an observation. PASS. The fries were pretty good.

I had ordered the Ultimate Chicken sandwich, which was recommended by the cashier. I noticed before I ordered that the menu said there were mushrooms, something I am really allergic to, so when I told him, he reassure me they could keep them off. I even explained my symptoms(because he asked). Unfortunately, there are mushrooms in my sandwich which I didn’t notice until too late and I’m waiting for my symptoms now!

Fuck all you bitches who don’t know a great steak when you see one! This place is like a HOME to me. The turkey philly steak is devine, it leaves you wanting more. $ 12 for a sandwich AND a smoothie? Bitch, we live in LA! That’s a STEAL if I’ve ever seen one. I’ve never tasted such an amazing smoothie. It’s almost always dead, giving me time to think about how god damn amazing this sandwich is. If you’re reading this, great steak is the place for you. Hey guys, it’s me again. I left something out. I forgot to mention how GREAT these sandwiches are for on the go. Anywhere you’re going, they’ll be there.

Not bad for a short distance walk and a quick bite to eat on my lunch break. I like the patio seating and the place was pretty clean. I had the king potato and a strawberry banana smoothie. :)

One of the most awesome place to have cheesesteaks. Don’t be afrain to order that massive super steak cheesesteak because it was really great. Had some of it and I was really into it. The place was good, they had some good decors inside and the was really great. This would be a great place to come by.

Being from Philadelphia, this place should change its name to Below Average Steak. The service is slow, the food is overpriced and the music is so damn loud you don’t even notice you’re paying $ 12+ for a regular steak sandwich, fries and drink combo. Go here from time to time when I don’t feel like getting in my car to drive to Boo’s for an authentic Philly steak sandwich. Bottom line– go here if you’re hungry and lazy, not for a quality meal.

I came in today Friday morning to try the Cajun chicken sandwich. I walked in at 10am. There were no employees to be seen. WTF. Your doors are open but no one is there is take your order. The management needs some employees who are present.

One of my favorite hot sandwiches are Philly cheese steaks. Great steak offers very tasty ones but I thought $ 9.79 for a meal was a lil pricey.

Steak sandwich combo for under $ 10. That’s how much lunch cost nowadays. It’s better than cafeteria food for sure.

Great Steak? It should be called Slow Steak. The food is alright, but overpriced for the actual quality you are eating. My large steak sub cost almost $ 10. The service isn’t great either. They play music too loud for you to here them call out your order. I didn’t hear them call my order, so it just sat there for 5 minutes. When I asked the cashier why she didn’t let me know she said I was busy with my phone. Sorry I read ESPN articles while I wait for your terribly slow service. I also wanted to eat my food there, but it was packed up to go. Great effort cashier«Stephanie A.»

Tried this place for lunch this week. Seems like people on here have had a pretty mixed experience. One of my co-workers swears by this place so I decided to give it a try. Came in a little after the lunch rush, the place wasn’t too crowded. I ordered a 12″ popcorn chicken Po-Boy, on white bread, made it a meal. 15 bucks and 15 minutes later I had my food and was on my way back to the office. The price is definitely high for the quality. The sandwich itself wasn’t ‘bad’ per-say it just wasn’t great. I unwrapped it and seemingly all the veggies that were supposed to be in the sandwich were in the paper. Okay, no biggie, put the sandwich back together and started eating. They put this really good sauce on it, just not enough of it, made the sandwich kinda dry, too bad. Fries are typical. Not bad. I ordered regular fries because all the others, though they looked good, would of given me a heart attack on the spot. They have many ‘loaded’ options with all kinds of cheesey-meaty goodness, they just aren’t my thing. Over all 3 stars. –1 for the wait and price and –1 for the sandwich situation. I may give it another shot. We shall see. They did have fruit smoothies and coffee smoothies that looked pretty good.

The food was very average but what was appalling is the service. The owner works the register and he has zero customer service skills. He’s flat out rude. We had a $ 55 bill to feed our family of 6. We got old & cold fries. When we told him about it, he argued with us but eventually agreed to give us a new order. The we asked for more ranch– he gave us a tiny cup for 50 cents. Crazy. I would never ever come back here again, nor would ever recommend it. I don’t get how a franchised establishment can be so poorly run. Forget this place and go somewhere where your money and your business is appreciated.

This place definitely has good days and bad days. On the good days, the sandwiches are OK, on bad days, they are absolutely awful! The last time I was there I got a standard cheese-steak and fries. When the order came out, the sandwich bun was soggy, the portion of meet they served was about half of what would be typical, and the cheese. well, that looked and tasted like the kind of cheese that comes from a can. The fries were OK, but certainly not $ 4 worth. The only reason I started going there was for the outdoor seating but like with the quality of their food, the tables and chairs have fallen apart and nothing been done about it. I’m guessing that whoever runs this place simply doesn’t care anymore. I think I’m done with this place for good.

It’s really really good when they’re good — meaning, meat is seasoned and cooked properly, your veggies are fresh, and the bread is toasted correctly. I normally get the steak and veggies combo with fries and a drink. They have fountain and bottled drinks, as well as smoothies. However on a bad day — it’s REALLY bad. The veggies are soggy and god knows sliced and diced for how long. Or your bread is stale-ish. They’re located right by a doctor’s(?) office and Starbucks on Bixel and Wilshire. Parking is only meters, some residential if you don’t mind walking. Don’t park on Bixel after 3 pm. Parking ticket and possibly getting your car towed. Hit or miss. But good for a quick lunch, it’s rarely too crowded.

Cue the [Not so] Great Steak jokes. Great Steak: Sad-looking bread meets sad-looking meat. If you’re truly desperate for a sandwich, walk down a block to get to Subway.

I’ve eaten here on numerous occasions so I feel like I can leave a pretty comprehensive review. On the food: They have this really disgusting type of cheese that tastes like the stuff that comes out of the can. I’d get whatever you get without the cheese. The food is decent. Doesn’t seem to be the healthiest selection, but it does the job when you’re just tired of everything else in the area. Make sure to get their fries and drench them in malt vinegar and eat ketchup(that’s how it’s done across the pond). Location: Isn’t a problem for me because I’m able to walk there. Seems like parking would not be so easy for most since there’s usually only a few spots in front of the place. Staff: I always like the workers, but not the older Asian man(who I think is the owner). With his awkward comments, failed jokes and excessively unnatural«friendliness,» it makes for a not-so-pleasant food ordering experience. I think my real problem is that he he’s very stingy. He’ll make sure to charge you for that extra ranch every time, and make sure to give you the smaller container if any are available. The other workers are more liberal and pleasant to deal with. Ambiance: It’s good because they have the TV on CNN usually, and the area is not cramped at all. There’s lots of space to move around. I enjoy sitting on their patio, but there are only two tables out there. It’s usually not a problem since the place is usually empty.

Decent price, decent chain style food. Great service. I had the pastrami cheese steak and cheese fries, again decent food from a chain food place. Service was great, food came out quick no complaints. PS– don’t come here looking for authentic food, it’s not the real thing, but it’s still good.
