L & L Auto Service

I work right down the street from L&L and have used them on multiple occasions. They’re my go-​to spot and will continue coming here. I’m always happy with the service and they finish in a timely manner.
They are the nicest people and have good, competitive prices.

I recently got my brakes replaced by Luis. He’s been my go-​to guy since my dad introduced him to me and I’ve been taking my car to him since I got it (2006 Honda Civic). He’s done work on my dad’s, sister’s, and husband’s vehicles. He does great work, is very professional, and very affordable. I can’t imagine NOT taking my car to him whenever I have car trouble.

Laughed and said he couldn’t do it today
So much for customer service

Louis is the best in town. I have stopped by several times with questions for various issues with my Mercedes. He has patiently, checked, answered and fixed when necccesary everything. Absolutely trustworthy. Do not hesitate to drop your car off here!

I’d been laying off buying new brake$ for about a month before I came in. I did my homework and called around to local shops and got about five estimates– with and without new rotors, because I know when you get new brake pads you should at least get the rotors shaved (or «machined») down to wear evenly on the new pads. Seems like some places only want to sell you brand new rotors every time. I like when machining them instead is at least an option.
Of all the calls I made, L&L was $ 50 less than the next lowest price I got quoted for a set of front brakes. AND they had an opening right then. Other places said they were booked up until the next day. I raced over and spoke to the owner in person (who i’d spoken with on the phone). I like his straightforward but polite and even funny way of talking to customers. My car was done within an hour.
I was happy with me service here, but wanted to wait to review just in case any new issues developed afterward. In that time, my back brakes started squeaking. I brought my car back –again without needing an appointment– and Luis helped me figure out it was the back set of breaks this time. I told him I noticed that the squeaking would stop if I pulled the emergency brake, which he informed me was an indication that the sound was from the rear brakes.
Again, the service was fast and the same very reasonable price. I was a little wary of how low the prices were here, but it’s been several months now and the quality of service and parts is excellent. Don’t pay more somewhere else! I recommend L&L to everyone I know for brakes– they’re the best.

My partner and I stopped in to have our brakes looked at by Louis. He advised that we leave the car for about an hour so that he can check both the rear and front brakes, we received a call within the hour with what was wrong and how much it would cost. We went ahead and had our brakes replaced. My car is no longer making any noises or shaking when we brake. This place was affordable, and very dependable. Thank you! From now on this is our new LA auto shop!

Terrible. Totally tried to rip me off. An estimated cost of 2000 dollar for fixing everything that was «needed» according to him, went down to 400 dollar at another mechanic.

Great service. Excellent place to drop by for tune up. I haven’t had anything major done here. But have stopped by twice for oil changes. Guys are very friendly and don’t try to sell you anything unnecessary. Took me in right away did the maintenance and I was able to go back to work. With time left to have a lunch.
I’ve been around a family owned business for years, and have a soft spot for them.

Louis is the best! Just had my car towed 5 miles to get it to him. He does all the work on both my girlfriend and my cars. Friendly, honest, explains everything, knowledgeable and fast.
We found out about L&L auto through the True Blood Transportation Department and couldn’t be happier. He just replaced my alternator and thermostat. In the past he has done tune ups and fixed my AC.

PROFESSIONAL service. Been a loyal customer for the past 2 years. These guys know what they are doing and are straightforward. Before i found these guys my cars gave me a constant hard time. But when one of my cars broke down near this establishment, they fixed it at a reasonable price and i was on my way not knowing i had just met the people that were going to save me a lot of trouble. They know what your car needs to perform at its best. to these guys!

Came in to get an oil change from L&l after driving up and down on la brea looking for the best pricing. Louise helped me out and gave me the best price. I was done in and out within 20 min. Great service amazing pricing. Thanks L&L

These guys are the BEST! We always come here and refer our friends and family. There have been a couple times we have gone elsewhere (because we have moved out of the area) and had ridiculously expensive quotes and have come back to get a second opinion and its always less, for example we had a quote for a repair on our brakes for $ 750 and it turned out that guy was trying to rip us off and L & L did the same job for $ 400. Its so hard to find trustworthy mechanics so I really appreciate these guys! Hoping I won’t be back too soon but it’s always great to see the guys, very friendly and helpful!

Like everyone else here I love Luis and his team. He’s honest, friendly, and thorough. He goes to lengths to explain to you what you need and why you need it, so you really understand what is happening. I kind of feel like he loves my old volvo station wagon as much as I do! I drive a 22 year old car, there will be problems, and I always take it to him.

I never thought that in the middle of Hollywood I would find such an honest and good mechanic, I have been going there for 3 years now to do service and repairs to different vehicles, from a Range Rover, BMW, Chrysler, etc.
Luis has saved me so much time and money, and fixes my cars really fast, I highly recommend this place, I take this place over any dealership service department or car shop.

$ 240 for front and rear brake pads on my 02 Toyota Solara. Service was done in a timely and professional manner. What else do you need? Lol

I have a 2007 VW rabbit I bought brand new. After the warrantee expired I’ve been really cautious as to where I take my baby to get serviced. I’ve been in LA 2 ½ years (I drove from my hometown in Miami). This is only the 2^nd place I’ve taken my car to that isn’t a VW dealership. I stopped going to the first place because they’ve been jacking up the prices on me that I was just fed up. I looked up somewhere I could get my desperately needed break-​service and found «Just Brakes». I was impressed that most of the reviews were positive in reference to both service and pricing… here is another one! These guys are excellent! I know for a fact that the other place would have told me I needed new rotors even though I didn’t. The total price I paid here was over $ 100 less than what I was even quoted by my regular mechanic and I’ve been enjoying my new brakes since yesterday and they feel great! My car was also done a lot sooner than I expected! I recommend these guys 110%! Cheers!

Awesome! Nothing worse than trying to find a new mechanic. This guy is beyond wonderful. In addition to ethical business practices and fair prices, they are in a great neighborhood if you have to wait around — lots nearby to keep a person busy. They actually do full service auto repair, and are also known as Fast Brakes, and Underground Car Service. Luis is the owner.

I take both my Toyota Tundra and Lexus GS 300 here. I really couldn’t ask for a better experience. These guys are super friendly and knowledgeable. Luis is always thorough in explaining the issue, and he always gives you a fair price. A fair price for quality work, thank you!

They just don’t get any better than Luis.
He earned my trust when he fixed my brakes a little over a year ago and he’s earned the trust of everyone I’ve recommended to him since. He operates his business with honesty, professionalism, affordability, and integrity. He’s your guy. You’ll take your car to him once and then when someone asks you if you know a good mechanic, you’ll say, «I got a guy.» If you’ve got anything on your car that needs fixed, not just brakes, take your car to Luis. Take your sense of humor too… Luis jokes with the best of ‘em.
