Sadly, I would have to side with several of the negative reviews below. M&A (Alex) did not work out for me. While Alex did return my original phone call seeking information about his services, I have not been able to reach either him or anybody in the company after that. Per his request, I emailed him ALL my confidential tax and business information (as attachments) and expected to hear back from him (or, at least, his assistant) in a reasonable time. Nope. Never got as little as an email confirmation that he, indeed, received my documents. After waiting 2 weeks, tried to call the main number (three times) … only to be transferred to a voice mail of «Diana.» Again, no call back. Nothing. His corporate website is down. I am quite worried about identity fraud.

How often can you say it’s a pleasure going to your tax accountant?
I discovered Max and Alex a few years ago.
They saved my hide and made going through an audit relatively painless.
My taxes are now much simpler and I don’t mind driving there from OC because they are the only people I trust.

Max has been doing my taxes for years. He does an excellent job choosing right deductions from myriad of IRS rules and exceptions, so I don’t have to. He made it a really friction-​less process to file tax returns.

My first opportunity to hire M & A to do my taxes. I would definitely go back to them again. They followed through on every appointment and filed everything according to their committed date. Alex is a star.

Confused. With all the great reviews here on Unilocal,i was hopeful. Like a couple of recent other reviewers, we met with Max who assured us that he’d file our corporate taxes by the deadline of March 15. I sent the documentation. No response. Ask for confirmation… he confirmed receipt. Then, no response to several emails and phone messages. The due date has come and gone. I filed an extension.
I hope that Max is ok, but will not use M & A’s services.

Was recommended by a friend. Took my taxes to him, left all records and waited over a month without a response. 2 weeks before taxes were due I tried contacting and he never responded. Basically he screwed me over. Stay away at all cost

So why the 1star? I engaged this firm after reading some reviews and they all looked good! Went and visited max and everything seemed ok and my taxs were going to get filed on time for business & personal ! I meet w him 3 – 4 weeks before corporate returns were due and he said he would file them after I have him all my info in which I did within 24 hours ! I have called and emailed several times and have got no response back from him ! Personal tax returns are due in 5 days and I have no idea if my corporate were filed ! No communication ! Not professional at all! This seems to be like it’s becoming a nightmare ! Please beware !!! This company really put me in a bad spot! Thank god I haven’t paid them yet

I think this company by far is the most reasonably priced in West Hollywood. They’ve been preparing my company’s payroll and filing our taxes for last 6 years. Every year I do a comparison shopping, and they are still on top, every year. Very professional, down to earth, no nonsense CPAs.

I have been using M&A for a couple of years for submitting taxes. Working with Art Baram. He’s very knowledgeable and makes tax preparations a breeze. The fact that he got his law degree from UCLA also helps (I am also a Bruin). Overall, I am very happy with the knowledge, support and service provided to me and my family. Highly recommend M&A for your accounting and tax needs.

Both CPAs my team dealt with were extremely knowledgeable, detail oriented and forward looking. We highly value their proactive tax advice and extensive ongoing help with corporate governance and timely filings.
Some of the services provided to us on a regular basis: detailed review of all our books and accounts, timely filing of all the necessary corporate documentation with multiple government agencies, assistance with outside audits, successful penalty waivers and mediation with tax authorities (they have great tax and contract attorney too!) and many more. To sum up, we are extremely pleased with M&A level of services and expertise!

Best CPA I ever had. Alex really knows his stuff. I had several cpa’s in the past. As I could not be happier with the service. I needed to get some issues addressed with my corporation and personal taxes. Alex did not rush me or my business partner. When I arrived Alex told me you don’t leave until I address all your matters.
